Can you explain your point a little better? Most races, 450s have better lap times on rougher tracks.
What lines did he figure out on the last 2 laps?
These rides by Deegan remind me of El Chupacabra
Pretty much, yes.
Let's remember he's what ?, 17 or 18 years old & borne of the 'metal mulisha', I'll give him a pass on punk-ish attitude as just being inevitable to some degree, that said, he's certainly had a strong work ethic instilled in him & that comes from parenting.
Once the gate drops ; Wow !
The way he rides the bike ; his body positioning, the obvious desire & the throttle pinned 1st then sort out the rest approach reminds me a LOT of Ricky on the bike back in the day.

I haven’t really looked at the difference in the classes at Nationals in quite a while, but I think your assertion is more valid for SX than for outdoors.
I think it’s silly he will compliment others he doesn’t think is a real threat but go out of his way to make comments about rider riders he’s obviously thinking about.
Can’t deny his on track performance. He needs to slow down a bit to clean up the small mistakes in the opening laps and that would put him in a much better position. It is fun to watch him ride tho!
as if its never been done !!!!! give the credit, the kid is wicked fast....but also give the respect to all others that did exactly the same he is doing....deegans fans are like motocross has just been invented and they just now what deegs does.....i get that americans are desperate for the next big star, confidence in sexton is gone, and they are desperate for someone to beat the foreigners....but there were others that did evan better.....deegan will never be bigger then the sport !!!!!!!
cant wait for him to be on the 450, all this shit will stop, this ocasional fans will drop him as soon as he is not able to keep winning, and the level of inteligence and respect here will improve a lot.......
Our graduate of our shitty amateur system is laying the wood to your 2 time MX2 champ.
All you guys do is create more Deegan fans.
It sort of reminds you of how Hannah always chose privateers to hang with most of the time, instead of riders who were a direct threat to him winning on the track……..
I'm watching the broadcast for the racing. Couldn't care one F what he says on the podium. The kid has grit and backs everything up. Sorry it triggers the non moto folks here...
Sperg out more. Can you point out the post from someone on here saying hes going to be bigger than the sport? You know you're on Vital not Instagram right? He's an exciting young rider who's living up to the hype. Nobody it's saying much more than that.
Deegs was wicked fast, I was there yesterday and was truly impressed with his performance. He just does not seem to fade and hammers it all the way until the end. You could really see he was just pinning it hitting his marks on the last 2 laps... great to watch. Especially the downhill, watching TV is one thing but to see it live is another and he was sending it. Reminded me of the Tomac / Musquin battle in 2018....
As for his personality / attitude - he is a Cali kid from the Metal Mulisha fam so it is what it is. He could clean it up a bit but who cares when he is backing it up. I've been watching riders since Hannah it the late 70's and seen many attitudes and Deegs isn't so bad.
The current "era" is kind of similar to when Ricky was wiping everyone up in the premier class and James was in the lites class coming for him. I can't wait to see the battles we may have between Jett and Deegs on the future. It should be great to watch and good for the sport.
Can you imagine if there was social media in Hannah's time....The non-moto screamers here would be in cardiac arrest...
i don't understand everyone wantin him to rush to the 450. screw that. hes still super young. let him have his reign just like everyone else. then move up
Haiden is 18 years old so lets see what the timeline could look like.
2024-wins 250mx
2025-wins regional 250sx and second 250mx at 19 years old
2026-gets his one title defense in 250sx and wins third 250mx title at 20 years old...ooorrrrrrr...moves up to race 450mx?
2027- 450sx/mx at 21 years old....where he lays wood to the Malachi brothers
2034-Passes RC on all time win list and McGrath as SX king at 28 years old
Pretty reasonable timeline eh?
Kid is impressive to say the least. I always expecting more from Vialle but I honestly believe Hayden’s mental warfare is starting to work.
Do another year dominating SX and Mx and then move up. No need to rush, keep dialing in the game plan
And he had how many wins on 450s?
Do you remember what Eli used to do on a 250?
Pit Row
He practices during thr week on a 450. I think it’ll translate just fine.
100% El Chupacabra style clicks it into another gear higher at the end of the moto when it’s most important and the rest are fading.
He is racing smart.
He needs to move up to 450's next year for outdoors to keep pace with Jett and race outdoors at 19 on the 450.
Exactly. All the greats rushed to move up. Oh wait, they didn't. Trust the process. Facing Jett unprepared is a recipe for disaster
I like watching him ride. Off the bike, I feel like he’s trying hard to be something he’s not. Barcia, JLaw, et cetera are the villains because it comes naturally to them. Deegans trash talk feels pretty forced. Anyways, I hope he gets more comfortable off the bike and I don’t have to cringe during every podium speech, because there will be a lot of them.
I watched Swaps How was your weekend vid. He seems very uncomfortable on camera. Which is crazy considering how much YT content there is of him
I wonder if he’ll take #8 as his new career number.
Nah, I think the only other number you'll see in his career is 1.
I think he will be a very strong 450 rider when he moves up. Not saying he's immediately taking the reigns from Jett or anything like that, but I don't really buy the idea that his style won't translate. Very rarely does a rider absolutely dominate the field on a 250 and then just stink it up on a 450. People might bring up Dean Wilson or Barcia, but I genuinely don't remember those guys putting in the rides on 250s that Deegan has this year. The way he's ridden these first 4 rounds is comparable to some of the most dominant 250MXers of recent memory... '07 - '08 Villopoto, '12 Baggett, '13 Tomac come to mind. All three of them were also guys who rode the crap out of the bike, similar to Deegan, and they had successful 450 careers (Baggett's was a bit underwhelming, but he put in a few awesome motos over the years and might've beat Tomac for the 2017 title had he not injured his thumb).
Doubt they let him stay on the 250 forever.
This is the first I'm hearing about losing a career number after moving up to 450's lol. And the number 1 plate is about to come out SMX time
God delivered us Deegan. Now we don’t have to watch Jett win easily for the next 10yrs. 🙏🏻
