Why did Prado pull in and go out again? Herlings could win this.

To see if he could get his bike adjusted quickly from being bent and twisted but it’s to far gone

In that melee' it looked like Prado was going to come out OK, until his leg went under Vllanderan's (sp) front wheel.

Not good, and he's just come back in, and is out of the moto.

I hope he's going to be able to continue in the Championship  - I think there's a weekend off until they go to Indonesia. This time, Sumbawa - a Magnificent track - is being replaced by 2 events at the same (I think) bloody  'pop up' track on Lombok. No Indo for me this year, as I'm getting 'repaired' this week.

Gajser and Herlings on another level. 5 sec faster a lap than the next fastest.

Herlings just had a "Cooper Webb" moment, as Malin said.

It certainly helps when you've got legs about a foot longer than Webb has - he's a Big Bastard, is Herlings.........

And, just like that, Tiga loses his front end, so JH is in the lead.

This is somehow the beauty and also curse in motocross, you won’t know anything until the flag goes out.

Field is so empty, that should not happen in a world championship. If Prado is out we'll be missing Prado, Febvre, Jonass, Fernandez, Renaux, Geerts, Forato, Watson, Van De Moosdijk, and I might be forgetting some

Herlings is rather short for Dutch standards: he is only 1.72 m (less than 6 feet).  The average male in the Netherlands is 1.84 m (slightly over 6 feet). That is why MX bikes are too small for us!

I think it's unlikely Prado is injured considering it's his knee that hurts but it's from an impact, I think knees are quite hard to break, and the impact seemed to be to the side of his knee rather than straight on to the kneecap? I would also assume Prado wears knee braces so that would be additional protection

I'm pretty sure Herlings is around 184cm

It might be to early now, but can we talk about Gajser? If he wins this year this will be his 6th title and I still see him racing until his mid 30s. With Prado being gone next year he could actually be the guy that can go for the records. The most underrated champion of all time probably.

Agree! To be honest I haven’t seen him racing this good since beginning of the mind blowing 21 season. He was good also 22 but that was unfortunate a hungover from 21. The main focus was off course that herlings didn’t race, Prado had big issues with his bike Febvre was out for half the season. He’s been unfortunate to win titles when the field has been a bit damaged, like in 20 & 22 also 19 the field was pretty weak after half the season. He shows how a great racer he is.

I felt that Gajser had a little in hand over Herlings today but that tip over changed that. Let’s hope for the championship that Prado isn’t injured, nasty crash & it could’ve easily happened to Herlings or Gajser. I enjoyed the racing today.

I think you are right. I met him once and he wasn't that short.  Funny,  on the internet he is often 1.72 m.

Agree.  I was lucky enough to attend the race and Gajser rode like a boss.  That first moto was incredible with Prado and Herlings on his tail for 30+2 and he never looked flustered.  The speed those three maintained for the full moto was something else.  Second moto Herlings got him with a small tip over, but both riders were amazing again.
Have to say the track is quite something to see in person.  The tv flattens the hills, boy are they steep!  I don’t think it was as one lined as people are saying, Herlings and Gajser (and prado in moto 1) were just so fast and evenly matched for speed that passes were obviously limited.  Still thought it was an amazing day of racing.

When they changed the rules earlier in the week they should have added an automatic DSQ for ignoring blue flags

Herlings winning the title due to the misfortune of his faster competitors would be the ultimate cosmic justice

If Prado needs surgery it was his last ride with Gasgas.

This is the first GP this year that Herlings was able to continuously run the same lap times from the start as Gajser and Prado. Would he have finally found his form again since his 104th GP victory last week? In the previous GP, Herlings lost 1 to 2 seconds in the first rounds, which is almost impossible to make up for with Prado, Gajser and Febre.

Despite the good start, I didn't think he was aggressive enough in the first few corners in the first moto, but he was able to accelerate considerably when he passed Vlaanderen.
