There was some info about them at the start of the season but none since. Can any of you insiders with access to Dungey ask him for some feedback. I'm really curious if Nike is ever going to put these on the market

I'm not an insider but I didn't think there would be a push for boots looking like that.

Agree.... They are the most hideous boots I've ever seen.

Plus, Dungey hinted that his and stewies boots were outrageously expensive. If I had to put a number, I would say a good 5000-8000 per pair. Not counting R&D costs.

I love Dungey, but dang them Nikes are weird looking. Am I the only one that thinks the way the sole and toe are styled makes them look like Converse Chuck Taylor's?

And yes I really think 5 to 8 grand. If not, then why is Dungey and James the only two riders wearing them at the moment?

I think Nike needs to take some styling cues from the Jett boots. If I had the money to blow, I'd buy the Jetts, but I've got a perfectly good pair of T10"s.

I was surprised to learn that Dungey has been sponsored by NIKE since he was 15....and that he initiated and helped with the develoment of the boot, I thought it was Bubba who was behind the idea of it and development.

I like em, but hey, whatever.
I was also told that they are not made for the public, just a PR item that you want, but can't get.

I dig them. The white on the insides seems like it would get nasty after a couple rides though. The price of them will probably be about 800 when they come out i bet.

it seems like you either like the look or despise the look with not many people in the middle. If Nike succeeded in inventing a better mousetrap with these boots I would consider buying a pair.

Remember early in the year when Dungey went over the bars and ran it out? I remember wondering if that bar on the outside helped

I broke my heel in a pair of mx boots w/out crashing so I'm always interested in a potentially better boot.

Interesting how they have the different toe guards on the left and right boots. The left one has a shifter guard. I don't think I've noticed that on my A-Stars, I'm gonna have to check next time.

I'm sure the carbon fiber reinforcement they have running from the top down to the toes helps absorb the shock of a large impact through the ankles, but the technology might be very user dependent. If it requires customization in order to work correctly, we will never see the boots. If they can find a happy medium, we might have some very expensive boot options. Their high end carbon fiber soccer shoes are $350 a pair and sell in MUCH higher volumes than these ever could. So yeah, a few thousand is probably not a stretch.

You're out of your mind if you think they have 5-8k of material on their feet.

I guarantee Nike will make a cheap version for $300 and a slightly better version for $5-600 and the kids will be begging daddy for them 6 months before the hit the shelves. Watch, some tweenage pop star will wear them in a music video dancing and they'll become part of 2012 pop club scene..lol Guaranteed!!

I don't think most guys on this site are their target audience.

I will say Nike sure knows how to pic their reps. They new something most people didn't with RD. They look like geniuses right now.

hahaha... Yeah they might be a little difficult to get under pitbike shifters worcs!

I just checked my new tech 8s and they have the shifter guard or panel on both sides...

I like it cause it saves the leather but kinda funny... Has their ever been a bike with the shifter on the right!?!

You're out of your mind if you think material just assembles itself in the desired fashion.

And gets it right the first time.

Not since BSA ruled the roost...................

All the english bikes at 1 time had shifting on the right. But the Fed's made them switch to left footed shifting to get them into the U.S.
