Wow.

From Chads podium interview it seems he knew exactly what was up with the killer jump.

It's a shame but I don't think that changing the landing would have changed anything.

Oh he definately called it, some one needs to get a good ass chewing out of that. 2 of the top guys badly hurt, for what? All they had to do was trim it down and maintain the face. Sad and I am glad they got that interview, that puts a huge exclamation point on it.

Yep. Showed speed in his heat, but it seems clear why he was off in the main, with nothing to gain. I wish the track builders would have taken his thoughts more seriously.

Reed wouldn't have said anything if it wouldn't have made a difference. Sure wouldn't have hurt.

Looked like they did a very minimal job, the landing was still to tall and step for a tripple and as the race wore on the face it was to dangerous. Two top 5 guys bite it...............

Did you see in heat 1 when Dungey cased that jump? the camera barely caught it, then on the next lap he fully overjumped it.

One week, Chad is screaming about a quad and they change it before it changes someone's life.

Chad, KW, Shorty, and a number of others saw a developing problem.

Why do we listen "sometimes". As good as Dirt Wurx and everyone else might be, nothing beats a rider's intuition when it comes to how a race will unfold and what the track will actually do..

We lost (errosion - rutting) launch at the beginning of the section. Then, addressing concerns from teams and riders, we built up the peak on the landing instead of allowing a margin of error and smoothing the top of the jump.

There has to be a better system for the athletes to have a say in indoor tracks before the gate goes for the main.

Kinda eerie how precise Reedy's call was, even down to the comment about "we don't need guy's getting carted off".

I have nothing to base this on but I would guess that a decent amount of riders share their concerns with Reed and he takes the matter up with whoever makes the call on track changes. I'm sure they realize that Reed will be listened too and most others will be dismissed.

In Aus Chad walked out on the track with a pick and shovel to remove a dangerous kicker, it probally saved a carting or 2.

Chad understands better than anyone racing right now, that in order to finish first you must first finish.

Looking forward to seeing this race..

I can remember some haters were calling Chad a puss for calling out that quad. I wonder how vocal he will be about this after these crashes have happened, esp seems it was his team mate.

I think Reedy is probably just being more vocal as the riders in Oz have been asking him about the tracks down here as it is almost seen as "his" series, so he is just being more vocal about it in general...

It's a good thing, pity it didn't help RV... Tho it seemed like he was ejecting regardless of the landing... Like James in Vegas 03

Barcia came up short on the same jump late in the race using what appeared to be the same line that Villopoto used when he crashed and his suspension soaked it up. Villopoto was way short and ejecting, he was in trouble no matter if the jump would have been changed or not.

The riders will never stand together and have a voice with the promoter to see effective change.

Ah, I'm pretty sure it's illegal under AMA rules isn't it!?!? There's something about no protest, no revolt, no boycott or risk having their license taken away...

I'm confused-they said it was the jump after the whoops which was the triple and not the rhythm triple. That's what Emig said and then Shaheen said it was the other one later.

This do or die mentality in sx track building has got to stop. When 5 of the top 10 guys are still out with injuries after just getting CR and AS back I think it's time to look at safety. Something needs to be done to protect these guys. If we didn't get CR and AS last week the main events would be minus AS,CR,JS,JG,GL,IT,RV. We also have one of the top 10 guys not racing sx period because he knows SX has become death race 2000 (i.e. mike allesi). It's barely worth getting emotionally invested in sx anymore. Not to mention how thin it makes the MX gates. When you look at that Injury list and see the list it's mind boggling. I've been hearing allot of find another sport and this sport is dangerous comments? Guy's I know it's a brutal sport but It's getting out of hand. I also feel the promoters risking my hero's heads are hiding behind that "sorry the sports dangerous" crap too and they're not doing shit except making it worse. Hell since tripples are so easy lets make quads.---fuck why not five then. W/the 5th one 10 ft taller then 1st one. What I'm saying is when is enough, enough. I understand progression is huge for any sport but when has it become to much. Every sport finds limits we need to find those limits.

As for Chad, i never quite understand why people dislike him so much? It seems it was like a locomotive going downhill. One person voices there opinion loudly, and others follow in suite. The Villopoto wreck was nasty... being there it sounded like he was still in a lower gear than he should have been in. Hence the coming up short.
