What will the US scene look like in a few years as the junior system is broken.
Kay De Wolf is amazing and will be epic in SX
Coenen bros are coming too maybe HRC 250 rides, Mirtl is their agent as well as Jett, Hunter and Jo
Prado Kawi
Vialle getting better every year
Jett and Hunter went through the GP scene too
Very sad for MXGP
KDW and Coenen bros have so much style, i will miss it here.
Maybee Benistant goes over too.
I hope längenfelder would do too but havent heard any plans of him moving to the us yet
No Euro has won a premier class SX championship in the past 30 years. Euros aren't taking over. If anything is broken it's MXGP.
That means American Supercross and Motocross are the most prestigious and/or highest paying championships in the world. Having a diverse field is great for everyone.

Jett is not a Euro but he is not US born and breed. As stated, he came from MXGP and many others will come here, make great money and fight for championships. Now that MXGP riders can jump like US riders, their talent in different types of tracks will propel them to the front.
100% correct. MXGP is actually limping on crutches...sad but true.
Ps. I add that it appears that MXGP is fast becoming a feader series for the US Championships.
America is stuck under a black cloud right now, don't know how else to explain it.
Really, how many years did he race MXGP?
Exactly, plus most guys (not all) continue to live here after they are done racing. Says a lot about the country and series. Personally as a fan I don’t care where riders are born.
So how good is Jack Miller?
Money makes the world go around. This has nothing to do with prestige.
Calm the farm. There’s been top MX2 guys coming over for decades. They are always competitive and the vast majority have won regional SX titles.
The only thing that’s different so far at the moment is Prado moving to the states. Was Tortelli the last MXGP champion to make that move?
I think Tortelli is right. Unless you count Antonio in 22 (I don’t really). Pichon won his MXGP titles after his US move. Prado moving is a big deal
It's strange how the Aussies claim the Euros as their own and vice versa, like a continental alliance against the US. This particular Aussie claims the US system is broken and the Euros are going to take over and uses two Aussies as part of his reasoning. Sheesh.
America is the fuckin greatest County on earth.
Don't believe me? Ask your Lord and Savior Dazzy Lawrence
KDW is one bad MF'er on a dirtbike and would love to see him racing in the US. Also stoked for Prado returning. Love having the MXGP guys coming over. Would like to see Gasjer do a few years in the US at some point too.
Is de Wolf coming over a done deal, and when? Love watching that dude race..
Jett didn’t go through the GP scene but he obviously trained a lot in Europe.
Pit Row
Well, do you belive that the European riders would join your national championships if the money situation were reversed between the GP’s and AMA series?..
Depends how you look at it. He rode EMX250 that race on the same weekend as the GP’s. So he was a part of the GP scene, just in a different class.
My guy said he's never going back.
Oi oi oi
Why isn't the money situation reversed if the world championship of the world is more prestigious?
Because the system is broken. There is nothing new that the GP series is full of problems, but don’t fool your self to think that there is prestigue that lures the riders to US. It’s the money.
Hopefully this will change if some of the riders jump’s the mxgp ship.
Just like AMA reacted to the WSX and created the circus SMX championship that made the riders earn more money.
By many reports, many (most) of the fastest kids in the European scene have expressed a desire to come to the US to race SX and MX and yet they’re not the most prestigious championships?
Idk what your definition of “prestige” is but the Oxford Dictionary defines it as:
widespread respect and admiration felt for someone or something on the basis of a perception of their achievements or quality
Having many of the fastest riders on the planet in the championships and more wanting to join it seem to satisfy this definition.
8-10 years ago I would have said the MXGP series was more prestigious but that has flipped. YS has milked the sport dry and now they have to sleep in the bed Luongo made.
This isn’t some USA vs. Europe thing, it’s becoming a matter of fact that future stars of the sport want to compete in the US championships regardless of where they come from
So you think an exodus of talent from Europe to the US is going to be a catalyst to strengthen the GP's? How are they going to come up with more revenue with less talent? If you have that answer please let WSX know because they are asking the same question.
Speaking of WSX, that came about when Feld distanced from the FIM and the FIM panicked and jumped in bed with the first band of idiots willing to pay for its world championship designation. I don't keep up, how is that going?
Jett raced the EMX class for one or two seasons.
Aussie practice tracks and US practice tracks are too groomed and prepped. Euro tracks are rough as and make a better rider. They make them search for traction ie throttle control and have varying surfaces. Sand tracks, Mud, hard pack like the old days.
I think that if something never change, you won’t see a change.
If the riders start to leave, luongo might have to start to pay price money if he want them to stay…
What would you do, take the job with the most prestigue or the job that pay the most?
In my world the position that pays the most is usually also the most prestigious
There’s kids here that will have the Coenens covered, but Kay will be good straight away.
The Cornens will have gate drops, which to me is the biggest thing, but they’re not any faster than Dofrancisco.
For me the prestige would be to beat the best riders regarding speed, not the ones that get payed the most.
But if i could get payed three to four times more doing the same job in another country i would take it to, but i would not call it prestigious.
And the reason Vialle left the GP’s were to extend his 250 carrer and not have to be forced to move up to the 450’s
