How does it work out there?  I see YouTube vids of amateur races and pro practice days but I dont recognize the track as the same as the pro national one.  Is there more than 1 track there apparently?

Normally there is a vet track and main track (and kids track and Sur-ron track). They make some mods to the main track for the national (usually the hill climbs and more/gnarlier jumps) but there are many shared elements to the main track you can practice on and the national track you watch the pros race

Same as it’s been. Left hand first turn same as last year. Finish line jumps same direction.

Thanks, was really hoping that they'd switch directions this year.

Are the pit passes worth buying for Pala on race day?  I can’t make it on Friday but want to go for the races and qualifying on Saturday.   The pit pass is $30 extra.  I’m not trying to get autographs, I know those lines are a mile long, but is it worth it to go peep the factory teams or is it not necessary if I'm tight on money?  It’s been about 10 years since I had a pit pass. From watching videos..  It seems like it’s turned into a fan zone madhouse!

Last year the pits were 1/10 the crowd of a SX fanzone. It’s pure moto and I love going in and seeing the bikes/riders close up

Agreed.  You never know what you'll see or who you'll meet in the pits.  It's a "must situation".Woohoo

Thank you.  I used to go to SX pits and Glen Helen pits and they were awesome, didn’t know if it was still worth it.  You hear these horror stories of Deegan having a 3 hour autograph line.  That’s not what I want to see.  Lol.  I just want to browse around in between qualifying and the races

Bring earplugs for the national. The noise from the loudspeakers at Pala in 2020 has circled the Earth 999,000 times and is much quieter now, but still may cause heart attack and stroke to humans out in the open.

National pits are 10x better than supercross. Riders and team are more relaxed.

I rode Fox Raceway for the first time in March this year. I'm from Canada (and more of an off-road guy) so seeing and riding these caliber of tracks isn't something common or "normal" for me.

McAdoo, Hammaker and some other fast guys were there that day, Ryno was trackside too. May seem like any other day to you that are regulars or that have been to national type tracks often, but damn it was cool watching them rail those corners and see the speed in person. I spun a few moto's on the track too and had a blast, really looking forward to watching round one this weekend and pointing at the TV telling my wife "I know that corner" or "I hit those jumps!".

I know the feeling.  I can ride a national track but no way I could "hit" it.  What the pro's do blows my mind.  I was always nervous as hell when the big boys were on track... I'm a total spode.Blush

Josh Mosiman is racing a 350. Shouldn't be a problem for him to qualify so it's gonna be interesting to see where he finishes.

I bet he'll have a hard time with the start, but I bet he'll be faster overall than a 450 over the course of 30+2 as it's just easier to ride and less tiring. He was faster on a 350 when he did back to back with the 450 at Glen Helen, but racing is always a bit different.

Anyone know how to find out what you can and can't bring into the track tomorrow ? I can't find any info on what food and or drinks are allowed to be carried in. I know last year we couldn't bring in iced teas for some reason. We have young kids and a 9 month old going. He can't exactly eat a pizza

That’s wierd about the ice tea. Usually they just won’t let you bring in alcohol

Thats what I thought when I was hauling them back to the car...    probably should've walked 20 feet away and chucked them over the fence like everyone else  Laughing
