I thought Jett was signed through 2025?
It’s got to be $5mil+ with big bonuses. He’s won every Premier championship he had been in with not really any major competition in sight. I would think he could ask for anything short of the world and would get it.
I do not know. But the broadcast was talking about his contract renewal coming up
He's signed through 2025

Could they have been talking about Hunters contract? I think his is up before Jett's is. I must have missed when they were talking about it , or wasn't paying attention.
Maybe they have an option to renegotiate if a championship is won?
I mean, Honda don't exactly have the best reputation for keeping the best riders. They absolutely fucked it with McGrath and RC. They could fuck it again with Jett, who knows?
They either get a high paying salary, or a big bonus program. Not sure honda or any team for that matter is going to do both with someone winning as much as he has. Kids making bank though, no doubt about it.
I could see Jett/Lucas going for an RC/Suzuki style "all in, no bonus" contract. Whether Honda goes for it remains to be seen. Sometimes winning everything gets too expensive for a manufacturer, even Honda.
Which brings up the other issue, Hunter. If he keeps progressing the way he is, there is no way Honda foots that kind of bill for both brothers.
Hunter's contract expires at the end of the year. He's up for renewal.
Hunter 10th place in the championship, 🤔 I reckon the will get rid of him, maybe replace him with Ando.
Hunter finished 9th with 207 points and he basically missed three races.
-DNQ for A1
-Hurt his shoulder at Daytona only scoring 1 point.
-Missed Birmingham with a fractured shoulder.
He had a great rookie season.
-4x Top 5 Finish
-2x Heat Winner
-Two overall podiums (3rd) in St. Louis. Triple Crown Event, (2nd) in Denver
-1x fastest qualifier (Philadelphia)
Justin Cooper finished 6th with 227 points.
-2x Top 5 Finish
-DNQ for San Francisco
-One overall podium (2nd) in Salt Lake City
-1x fastest qualifier (Anaheim II)
Considering Hunter and JCoop were only 5 points apart entering SLC, I think it's safe to say that Hunter will be signing a contract extension with HRC.
JCoop on the other hand is most likely out at Star, but that's because Tomac wants to continue racing.
Have you heard of Marc Marquez, he used to ride for HRC Repsol Honda, in 2019 he finished 1st or 2nd at every race on the calendar as well as winning his 8th Championship. Like Jett he was their golden boy, and they had no problem sending the trucks of money to his house. Honda offered him tons of money to stay but their bikes are not competitive so he left to ride for Ducati on a satellite team (for less money).
Honda can pay Jett whatever is necessary to keep him,,,, if they want to. If he leaves it won't be because they cant afford him.
Not a jet fan but the kid and family deserve every penny they have coming!
Three dislikes when Honda let the king, and the goat both walk.
If Hunter DNQ or got hurt that's on him. We know you prefer the Lawrences over JCoop, but JCoop had a great rookie season against "the most stacked field ever".
If I were Star I would keep Cooper along with the other two and drop down to 4 or 5 250 guys.
Yeah, Honda has set that exact precedent and it isn't out of the realm of possibility. If Hunter keeps on being a solid top 3-5 guy, even progressing to be a solid podium guy, is Honda going to pony-up upwards of 5-7 million a year in salary/bonuses just to keep Jett and Hunter on the same team?
Genuinely curious how this plays out...
I have no issue with Justin, and you're missing the point.
Shit happens and Hunter earned the ride he has. HRC not re-signing him would be stupid.
Both guys had great rookie seasons. Remove Jett and it was a close battle for Rookie of the Year.
I look at it differently. If I'm Justin, I'm looking to go elsewhere and be the number 1 guy. Triumph needs a guy, and Rockstar Husky has a spot open.
Pit Row
I agree with most of it but Justin being a number 1 guy. Great number 2 rider imo
Cooper was really impressive this year, and you're right, take Jett away and its a draw between JC and HL.
Does Kawi have a spot open?
Is Honda Japan money, Honda USA money?
Even more so is Honda Moto GP money, Honda SX/MX USA money..?
IMO, if he goes to Triumph or Rockstar Husky, he'll be the number one guy.
Savatgy and Malcolm would be the number two guys.
I'll take a wild guess and say the asking price will be too high for any manufacturer so they get creative and Jett ends up on a hybrid private/factory team. Honda gives him factory bikes, support and maybe even bonus money, but Jett has his own team subsidized by title sponsor(s), Red Bull, Alpinestars, etc. Shimoda moves up to the HRC truck with Hunter in '26.
Not unless they field a third bike.
Anderson is signed through next year, and it looks like it's all but been confirmed that Prado is going there.
I can see it, but he needs to prove it first. Decent indoors but outdoors he needs to show that speed and stay up front. If he can do that he can be number one. I think teams are waiting to see more.
Probably Honda stocks at this point. Maybe part owner hahaha.
Honda did get rid of RC and MC but not until they were in their mid 20s and had won a lot of championships. Based on that I am sure they will keep Jett.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🎣 excellent cast my friend
Are you dumb? Or trolling? I sure hope this is a troll post since you mentioned Ando..
I’d put a lot of $$ on Jett retiring with Honda
