It's good news for me since I have a red sticker bike, but it is completely bullshit that they're blocking new bikes from riding on public lands.  Someone or group with enough money needs to fight this.  Otherwise, it's a matter of time before there are not enough bikes still running to justify the public lands to ride on.

I only ride tracks, but I'll gladly pitch in.

I've been riding dirty for years, never been stopped by a Ranger.

The Blue Ribbon Coalition has been fighting this since 1997. Send them some $ to help.   https://www.sharetrails.org/

Let’s get out the calculator, click click, whiiirrr… click click aah yes here we go. I’ve always paid, been checked twice in …… fuck almost 50 years. (46). Always had at least 2 green stickered bikes and 3-4 more when the kids came.  Survey says Johnny_Utah wins !  I’ve spent waay more than whatever the fine is.  And what have I gotten for my money ?  Extra Rangers to make sure that I don’t ride around camp on my 110 after Ive had two beers ?
A guy in our group wasn’t “Stickered”. He got a fix it ticket big deal.

If the desert seriously gets to where there’s cops driving around checking your freaking registration and want to take your bike or some bullshit because of what year it is ?  you know at that point fuck it Ill find some other desert to go to. They can’t be “everywhere” can they ?  I go to the desert to avoid that kind of tomfoolery 😂

The State agencies involved can’t get their shit together enough to even get a straight story out to the public.  There are a lot of 23 & 24 model year bikes that have already been given red stickers.

It's the absolute stupidest shit I've ever haerd of. Name one other sport, discipline, game, facility, whatever, anything. Name one other circumstance where the rules are "I'm sorry sir, you're not allowed to use this facility your equipment is too new."...

Think about that for a second, the new stuff equipment isn't allowed... only the old equipment.  Name one other instance where that kind of braindead ....   I got nothing, I don't know where to start it's so stupid

I wonder what are the chances of them issuing you a green sticker for your bikes that slipped through the cracks? Asking for a friend.

I have heard the Rangers at Ballinger were giving $180.00 tickets for a red sticker bike during green sticker dates.  Also the year bikes from 2022 plus that have red stickers, most likely wont get green stickers.  But if they slip thru, not a big deal for the Ranger, they will go by the frame number, in which the frame number indicates the year of motorcycle.

Ballinger is a lot like Gorman, the rangers are ruthless at both places.

The part about running out of bikes IS the states goal.

You’re asking the wrong question. You should be asking’ “name one other State….”  Only in the people’s republic of Kalifornia. You get what you vote for.

They can shut down all the ohv areas once there are no bikes that can be registered to ride there.  No electric bikes get a green sticker in ca!!!  If you have a Stark.  No green sticker.  Makes zero sense.

Red sticker season has ended for the last time! Starting on January 1st 2025 all motorcycles registered with red stickers will now be issued a green sticker registration
and you will be able to ride it year-round.

Standard Marxist reverse inverted upside down outside in bullshit making you think nothing is a good thing. Takers👎

One sticker allows you to ride year round and one has black out dates? Wtf is this, a timeshare program?

Because they don’t work for you (or me or any of us here).

Voting with your dollars is much more effective than with a ballot.

It’s California. As Sumdood said, we don’t get what we vote for because we vote against this stuff but somehow we are completely outnumbered by the idiots in this state that hate us and everything we love.

Remember, electric won’t save this. It will always be something else until every riding area is shut down and bikes are no longer allowed in this state. Their ultimate goal. We are doing what we can, but unfortunately we just don’t have the numbers in this state to beat the other side.

Yeah it was an emissions plan from the California Air Resources Board or CARB as it’s commonly known as.  The idea was the red sticker bikes (competition only, at least that was their plan) would not be able to ride during late spring, summer, and early fall at the off road parks to help with emissions in the state.

I worked for the state of California for 30 years and can tell you I was one of the employees that was a minority because I have common sense and would punch holes in the stupid proposals and rules.  I could tell stories for days that are cringe worthy.

I  don't understand  why the motorcycle industry in mass hasn't moved their corporate offices out of Ca. over to say southern Utah or  Az?  Lower tax rates, affordable housing for employees and safer. Honda has moved 75% corporate away from Torrance. Toyota left as well as Nissan. GM used to have a production plant in the SF valley. CARB has chased a lot off businesses out of Ca. Douglas Aircraft had to fly their planes over to AZ from Long Beach to get them painted after 1991. That makes a lot of sense.

Keep sending your money to the AMA.  They fight for your right to ride.

Oh, wait...more restrictions.

AMA..."we meant right to ride Harleys without helmets"

This is only for competition-use bikes. There are still off road bikes you can register but they will be detuned (and lean) to meet emissions standards.

You’re right, however smog legal bikes are a huge drop in performance. A 500exc goes from about 40hp to about 58 with a tune and a slightly opened muffler. They usually weigh 20-40 pounds more too.

Other than a map, charcoal canister (which is amazingly easy to remove) and suspension, the '24 Beta 500RS, that is street legal, is the exact same bike as the 480RE which is only red sticker eligible. That's how fucked CA. is.

A coupl'a years ago, I had several discussions with the people responsible for these regulations. Then I went to hearings...

When I asked what real impact this would have (Charcoal Canisters on ALL gas powered recreational vehicles in an attempt to virtually "ELIMINATE all evaporation of gasses" from sitting vehicles/machinery)...? They had NOTHING. No numbers. No real data...and...get this...when I brought up boats, farm equipment and other vehicles not impacted or very loosely affected by these regs...?

They got mad.

That's when the real challenge to what they were doing and the "science" behind it began. These C.A.R.B. people are fanatics. It's their "cause" and you ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ASK FOR DATA.

Here's their web-site and their obvious agenda...

https://ww2.arb.ca.gov/

Remember, these are the geniuses behind Gavin's "No I.C.E. vehicles to be sold in California after 2035"...here's more from our great governor's web-site..."California approved one of the world’s first regulations last year requiring 100% of new car sales to be ZEVs by 2035, following Governor Newsom’s 2020 executive order to develop new rules for in-state sales."

So, as I've already seen from the C.A.R.B. kooks...forcing you into electric motos is on it's way. These enviro-kooks are methodical; and, have no doubt...this is a religion to them.

Been there, seen that. Watched them try to force their agenda thru the capitol; and..they did. "Follow the Science!" Laughing

Proof of how fucked it is.  Try and get a green sticker for an electric bike.  It's almost impossible.  The whole point of the red sticker was to reduce tailpipe emissions.  So why aren't electric bikes able to be registered and get a green sticker?  It's stupid as fuck.

All this nonsense and yet Harleys don't need to meet sound emissions EVER, nor do any street bikes have smog regulations.

That being said, it's still why I wanted a 2021 bike those few years back. But watch, it will probably just be made illegal by 2030 or something crazy.

How valuable will used bikes that grandfather into green stickers become? 21's especially.
