Moto now?

Looks like we’re finally getting college educated journalists in our sport. I’ll spoil it. It’s not a good thing.

They are doing the desperate attempt at engagement thing on social media.... I guess it worked since not more than 15 people knew they existed a week ago....

the only qualifier here is "motocross fans" so if you're one of those, the editor thinks you're a racist.

How do you guys find these boot leg moto sites? Grinning

All of their commentary seems to be based on viewing from the other side of the screen and writing their opinion like any of us do here each week. I'm not going to a different website to read someone's opinion on the race and interviews if they aren't actually there covering the race and providing any original content.

The claim to have been at and had credentials for every race this year.

I went down the rabbit hole the other night when I first saw that I was a racist because I like motocross.

They have zero following, footprint, or sponsors so I'm guessing it's someone spending daddy's money to travel around this spring and they'll quickly move onto something else.

I was gonna slam this self righteous tart but maybe best we just ignore it entirely. No clicks = no future

Maybe it would help if Deegan's gear wasn't a racial slur. How do you pronounce DNGR?

According to the email I received, I now need to provide a photo (for ID badge), create an assignment letter from your publisher( Now Moto), and sign a waiver.

*Also a requirement to attend media day and the press conference.

Are there other things they are not telling me about?

This bitch....

Calling a motorsports entire fanbase racist while being painfully uneducated on the subject that you and you alone think you should be covering is about right for 2024.

I try and make a point of not insulting women, but I'd hate to be sexist AND racist, so I'll go ahead and call her a fucking idiot.

A dichotomy is when you have to choose one or the other. This should not even be a thread. Let this nonsense fade away like it should.

Some people in life avidly search for a reason to be a victim. It’s a really strange phenomenon, and something I’ve noticed experienced exponential growth in the last few years. I’ll never understand this desire, but I hope the best for anyone who does. Kind of sad.

what on earth is a racist dogwhistle

A dog whistle is jargon taught in college for when people have veiled racism.
For example, if someone made a statement which implied one group of people was lesser than another.
I'd argue using the term dog whistle is infact a racist dog whistle because it implies that some groups are "dogs" which is generally sub human in most cultures.

I know it's confusing but you probably won't understand unless you pay to go to college. Laughing

Here's some news from the future:

With this kind of asinine (and completely baseless I might add) "journalism" she's going to invite some pretty extreme reactions from people, some trolling and unfortunately some not, and her ability (or desire) to differentiate between the two of them probably isn't going to be very impressive.  She'll then just use that as fuel to the fire that "proves" her points, which further emboldens the idiots who actually feel the need to respond and validate her, and thus the cycle will repeat.

Here's the thing though, if you're gonna call out a sport with a historically very hard working blue collar demographic from high above on your university educated high horse while you haven't actually accomplished jack shit in the real world, it really shouldn't be surprising when you get a heated response that might not be the most elegant.  I couldn't care less what the guy parked next to me at the track thinks about abortion, DEI, or any of this garbage that's used to divide us on a daily basis, and honestly I don't think calling people out for their views on those issues has any place at the track.  If you're going to bring a divisive attitude around everywhere you go (regardless of your views) I don't have any time for you, most of us do this sport to escape the BS of everyday life not simmer in it.

100% man, most of us couldn't care if someone was black, white or green. If they're having fun we'd be happy to see them at the track 👍

Yep exactly. This divisive shit is very profitable and validating for a lot of people and it rots everything it touches. Moto as a community has one thing in common and that's the moto part..... and damn near everyone is pretty cool with everyone else based on that common interest regardless of where they stand on other things. Unlike most of the rest of the world, however, moto people mostly have thick enough skin to disagree and call their friends names and be an ass sometimes without everyone getting apoplectic about it and talking about microagressions and things beyond problematic..... I prefer to keep it that way and I don't feel the need to apologize for that or justify it to some ivy league grad from nyc on an extended vacation who thinks she knows something about this community. Bringing this other shit into it doesn't actually bring about an ounce of change to the thing you're complaining about and just makes everyone miserable.

the dog whistle analogy implies that a term is used that only a certain class can "hear", where the "oppressed" class is not privy to the true meaning.  the irony is, since the Left Always Projects, they are the masters of dog whistles. e.g. "diversity" really is a codeword for anti-white. "equity" is a codeword for anti-merit.

lambasting normies for being...normal, is a virtue signal for social climbers attempting to gain status with the elites. it's all the rage and has zero risk, so self-hating midwits like the female in question engage in it.

"White privilege is the luxury belief that took me the longest to understand, because I grew up around a lot of poor white people. Affluent white college graduates seem to be the most enthusiastic about the idea of white privilege, yet they are the least likely to incur any costs for promoting that belief. Rather, they raise their social standing by talking about their privilege. When policies are implemented to combat white privilege, it won’t be Yale graduates who are harmed. Poor white people will bear the brunt."
