Anyone know the story behind Tim not having an energy drink deal? It dawned on me watching the latest mxgp with his very clean black fox helmet that he is obviously choosing not to have a deal but have never heard anything about it.

He was Arma and Monster for a while…

Don’t have an answer to your question though.

Maybe he’s one of the rare few athletes who doesn’t want to promote a product they don’t use.

I could very well be wrong here, but doesn’t it have something to do with the Factory HRC team for the GPs? Noticed Ruben Fernandez and Van de Mosjdik don’t have any sort of energy drink stickers on their helmets either. Paging ML512 on this one!

I believe the European HRC team doesn't want their athletes to have energy drink deals because they want their riders to look uniform and they don't like the look or something like that. I've heard they match the offers they get from energy drinks too

Thanks. I was curious as to who would be paying the difference in salary if it wasn’t a deliberate stance by Tim.

While the idea of Tim having a moral opposition to supporting them did intrigue me, I don’t begrudge any of these guys maximising their earnings while they can. This is the gnarliest sport in the world and their window is very small for the risks they take day in and day out.

Its comedy to me that NO athletes even drink any of that energy piss. Everyone even knows that NO athletes drinks any of that piss... But hey "Monster available now at Ralphs".

They're obviously not drinking them at the races but I'd guess that there's at least a few of them that drink the sugar free ones, whether as a pre-workout or just for energy

"a few" of them is exactly right.

And those are the ones collecting checks for influencing simps, not for winning championships.

Sugar free is not an upgrade. The chemicals they replace the sugar with are even worse, especially if the belief exists that it’s not. “I can drink double!”

The artificial sweeteners they use to substitute sugar are definitely not worse. They're some of the most studied ingredients and for the most part they've been found to be virtually harmless. Have you done any research on this? I've found this view is usually not based in research but just the "no such thing as a free lunch " line of thought

“Artificial”

Who paid for the studies? Do you believe there is such a thing as a free lunch?

You do you mate.

My research, as well as my connection to my body, has me firmly moving towards organic and natural as much as possible.

The group that pays for the study is usually the FDA or another country's equivalent of it. Which specific chemicals are you talking about?

And we wonder why half the world has diabetes and is obese. You're the one that has done ZERO research. Fake sugars are KILLING people slowly over time as the body doesnt even recognize the chemicals they are using.

But.... but...... but...."The FDA Blah blah blah..." Hahahahaha.

"Critics have indicated that Monster energy drinks are promoted as though they are a standard soft-drink or beverage, which leads to the assumption by consumers that there is federal oversight into the manufacture and composition. Because of the dietary supplement designation, the FDA has not required testing for the highly caffeinated energy drink to establish that it is safe for consumers.

Many other energy drinks also use dietary supplement designations to avoid federal oversight. However, Red Bull, the second leading energy drink by volume after Monster, is already treated as a beverage."

Oh and this one took 3 seconds to find...

"In recent years, a number of independent studies have linked popular energy drinks, such as Monster, Red Bull, Rockstar and others, to increased risk of heart problems, including abnormal heart rhythms and prolonged elevated blood pressure.

In November 2018, researchers reported that consuming just one energy drink could decrease the vascular function of a person’s heart due to blood vessel dilation decreases. Other studies found that energy drinks may cause a person to experience more forceful heart contractions, putting them at risk for heart attack and other cardiac problems.

Researchers have also linked the drinks to problems associated with the nerves and stomach. One study indicated heart problems can occur by drinking only two cans per day, while another study indicated it only took one 16-ounce can before users saw a spike in blood pressure.

The energy drink industry has come under increased scrutiny over the past seven years, as concerns mount about the potential health risks associated with energy drink products and various marketing claims that encourage young users to consume large quantities of the highly caffeinated beverages.

In 2019, 5-Hour Energy agreed to settle a lawsuit brought by the state of Vermont, which alleged the manufacturer lied to consumers about their products’ potency and that it lied about the drinks’ safety. It is one of several lawsuits filed in recent years, many of which say the manufacturers deceived consumers, particularly teenagers, about the safety and caffeine content of their products."

I repeat.... NO ONE IS DRINKING THIS PISS. Just simps that think others are telling them too. That all.

I'm talking about artificial sweeteners not energy drinks.

FDA, certainly above reproach, has never taken payments to influence guidelines. Nope, never done that

Just like opioids are approved by the AMA and other medical organizations, it doesn't mean you can assume they are not harmful  to the body. Even if you do not get addicted, many medications and artificial sweeteners have long term side effects. JMO

I'd love to know the regular diets, fitness routines, and bodyfat percentage of everyone that says energy drinks are just the worst thing you could possibly consume. Alcohol consumption too. How much alcohol do you drink also. Im not say energy drinks are great for you but I don't think it's like drinking bleach like everyone on here makes it out to be.

Moderation is key, that being said i don’t drink alcohol soda or energy drinks. I also don’t think any of those things in moderation will hurt anyone

100%. Nobody is dying from 2-3 energy drinks a week. Now show me these people drinking 2-3 of them a day and yeah they're probably going to have problems. Same goes with alcohol, fast food, etc. Moderation. Great point

Not sure anyone said " the worst thing you could possibly consume". Not too healthy, yes. Agree, moderation is important in many aspects of life.
