Bold move cotton, let’s see if it works out. Seems like there have been stronger prospects who have been spit out by teams in a year or two (see former TLD KTM rookies). I don’t know the details but careful torching those bridges.
I bet we hear ZERO real journalism about this on Pulp haha
.. to be clear I’m as Pulp Nation as it comes, but we saw how claimgate went..
If Pulpmx blames Brian for Haidens behavior...isn't it fair to be critical of Timmy for Evan playing musical chairs with teams? I don't expect Steve to report much on what is going on with The Ferrys, but I bet somebody from team Vitalmx will. Michael? It can be respectfully done.
I imagine it will be difficult for Steve to say how he really feels about this situation because it’s Ferry.

Steve looks genuinely happy here
Matthes might end up reporting on Evan Ferry's retirement after all
Isn't this the 3rd or 4th team he's left?
Bobby Hewitt gave him the talk and his jimmies rustled
“Content creators”
I had to look up the definitions because I was genuinely confused what the difference was between the two. A journalist is technically an analyst I guess..🤨🤔
I cannot see where Bobby would have pulled the plug on this. That man does not quit on his riders.....EVER.
Ferry did not resign from Triumph.
From a far away perspective as someone who doesn't know jack shit about amateurs or any inside knowledge, just an ol' "retired" racer now major fan...
It appears like Ferry wasn't good/fast enough to get a legit ride or contract on a top team or the family thought he was better than he actually was making it too much hassle for anyone to deal with. Tim tried to throw his name around but wasn't enough. Triumph came around at the perfect time to be a new up and coming team where they could get a fresh start but are now complaining about whatever....the bike, engine, suspension, mechanic, team manager, who knows. The kid isn't good enough to make demands and force them to do anything so Tim tried the you know who I am thing and it didn't work so both parties split ways.
I could be completely wrong and ignorant on this whole thing, probably am, but that's just the perspective I'm getting as an outsider.
Free Julian Assange
If this was Tony’s son, Pulp and many others would be all over this, and yelling from the rooftop how unfit a dad he is ruing his kids career. From the screen shot sounds like pulp will touch on it, wait to see how “real” he keeps the discussion so I’ll hold my words for now…
Pit Row
When Tim was racing he always seemed quite level headed & calm so it seems strange he could be creating chaos .
If he is pretty reasonable you’d think he’d raise the kid to follow his lead .
But then the kids his own person so ..
The kid feeling a bit of “ nepo babyitus “ stress and it getting to him ?
Tim cool as a rider but psycho as a riders dad ? Everts touched on having to step away from the kid as he was getting too “ mini bike dad” on the lad.
I raced with a GP rider back I the ‘80’s/ ‘90’s who came close to destroying his kids pro career until the kid benched him. TBF though that guy was off his trolley when he was racing too .
Bummer for triumph, they need a degree of continuity their first year not this disruptive nonesense .
Are talking about the old Anstie? Dunno about Ferry but we all know that if this was happening with someone Steve disliked he would be pretty ruthless... Team after team...
Wasn't this a comment from one of the riders when VitalMx asked them what they thought about MX Media by theway, that some guys are to close with riders and their entourage.
It was .
I agree as far as getting “ real” reporting in such a small sport. And tbf that whole redbull deal in F1 - to my knowledge none of the race related media outlets went anywhere near it more than reading out “ official statements “ from all parties and leaving it at that so it’s not unique to MX.
Maybe we just need to readjust our expectations of the media within the sport and accept they are just there to record events and disseminate press releases rather than be reporters in the style of the main stream media ( and even those guys don’t report the way it was done 30-40 years ago ) .
All the people involved in this situation are good people and Evan certainly is not some “undeserving” charity case.
This could be anything from Evan not wanting to be in Georgia to possibly not gelling with the program. Maybe he didn’t gel with the bike?
Don’t know. Maybe we’ll find out. Maybe we won’t.
I do know this: the Triumph program seems to be having a pretty damn good inaugural year and they’re moving on.
A note: others have noted that Bobby doesn’t “quit” his riders. This is true almost to “a Texan’s fault”. But, at the same time…Bobby didn’t quit on a certain rider when others thought he should. And that rider delivered the team’s 1st and most important championships.
See you at the races,
Manny
Who cares.
Ripping on pulp for their coverage of this before they've done a show since the news dropped is kinda telling on yourself...
Pretty sure Steve referenced the rumors a week or so ago and said he had reached out to Tim and not heard a word back.
Many have said to wait and see how objective Steve is Monday before passing judgement. Saying that, he has commented on other situations without waiting on a “call back”. Also why are we looking for comment of a dad of a 19 year old? Evan is an adult, should be getting a comment from him. Could be part of the reason this situation developed when young adults are “sheltered” from the world, so strange all these dads still involved as these “kids” move into adulthood
My son has raced Tim's younger son at several LL area and regionals in Texas. I met Tim and his wife a few times and I can tell you that he is by no means a raging mini dad or any thing of the sort. Actually quite the opposite. He was very laid back and down to earth. I find it hard to believe that Timmy would be the problem....
Thank you for your input regarding a moto topic in a moto forum.
We care and are interested. If you are not, then fuck off.
I am curious what you are looking for from the Moto media? Our media uncovers way more information than baseball and football beat riders, where their only access seems to be through official channels. Guys like Ian Rapport or Adam Schefter seem to get some inside scoops but still less so than our media. For example, we knew Chase was going to KTM for over a year and Prado going to Kawi well in advance
Steve was pretty unbiased on the review pod today, to me he almost had a negative tone regarding Evan walking away. He might just call this one as he sees it. Guess we'll find out tomorrow - he also said Evan will be calling unto Pulp.
Kid hadn’t proved shit, I didn’t like that signing. I know they wanted to start low key, but there are a few other deserving riders. Even at a testing level, I can’t imagine he was that valuable. I really hope they can snag a decent rider who puts in the work to show how good this bike is. Looks great out there. Looking forward to seeing Joey outdoors.
