Forkner - “bad news for them”

4/8/2024 6:26am

I wonder how Austin types his responses without using the work "like" 3 times in each sentence.. Does he go back and delete every time there's a "like"???

You're never going to win a battle with social media trolls. You respond to one there is literally thousands lining up to talk shit too. If must be pretty frustrating to supposed to be the next great rider like Austin and watch Sexton win "your" 250 sx titles. Then watch him move on to be an absolute unit on a 450. He's had to watch the hype machine move to Jett and now Jett is on a 450 killing it. Now the hype is on Deegan. It's a brutal sport. Win or be forgotten

So year after year this kid crashes his brains out and has the balls to say, "I'm the fastest guy in the 250 class"? He's 25 and hasn't figured out how to stay upright for an entire season. He should be in the 450 class for the past 3 years by normal calculations. Kid needs to learn to keep his mouth shut when he literally can't back up what he says. He doesn't have "bad luck" he has terrible judgement. He's the guy who's put himself in every situation, short of the collision with Jett.

I didn't read this whole thread, but the guy has to be frustrated. Those bold claims aren't outright lies... he's a phenom that keeps injuring himself over and over while other kids that he was beating (at the time) have gone around him, got titles, and 450 rides (and titles). Dealing with that type of failure and those injuries is gnarly for a young 20 year old. So to me, seeing him defend himself like that is probably just him venting some seriously built up frustration.

With that said, I think he could stay off social media for a bit and stop saying "like" so much in his interviews.

Actually he has always accepted blame for his failures unlike another rider that points fingers and throws tantrums.

Why is it the bedbugs go right to the hater card anytime somebody is the least bit critical of anything Deegan? Now, they are the first to run oven Austin with the hate train. Imagine that.

Austin needs to learn humility. He ain't won, or proven anything yet, except how to run off at the mouth.

Part of winning and being a champion is believing in yourself., they talk about it on pulp all the time with guys like Chad, who always believed he could beat Ricky and James even if he wasn’t as good as them, and guess what? He beat them many times..

He beat Ricky, outdoors, twice that I recall. One moto at Southwick and the other at the '07 desNations. Neither time in the overall score. He may have believed he could beat him, you might believe he could have but, I doubt even his wife believed he could, outdoors.

I really respect that about Eli. No excuses and close to no social media stuff. just ride and get those wins!

Your response tells me you think, somehow, my comment involves Deegan? I said nothing about Deegan. This has everything to do with Forkner all by himself.

By Austin’s logic, I am also the fastest rider on the track at all times. I just choose not to go that fast. I mean, we have the same amount of titles so what’s the diff?

Bold claims by a rider who doesn’t have the hardware to back it up……unless you’re talking body hardware.

I love it. I'll take the real smack talk over the manufactured talk from the bedbug crew.

This all day long. As my old man always told me. “Act like you have done it before and use tact”. I like Austin and always pull for him. But I am a fan of the less is more attitude and results will always speak for themselves. Example AC

What's the old saying..."Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than open your mouth and prove it"?

I really want Austin to get/stay healthy enough to reach his potential.  Social media can often be a toxic cesspool...not good for the head...and that's where his trouble lies.

He'll either get it or he won't.  It's not too late but the clock is ticking.Blush

The problem is that PC Kawi isn’t paying him to win one race and eat shit. So all of what he said is irrelevant and a useless mindset, and does not change the fact that he has consistently failed at his job for the last several years.

If you where Mitch and was signing a persons check if they are not doing what you require of them would they still be working for you after all these years?

A guy like you it seems to be a problem for.

AC and Forkner are the poster children of why "Guaranteed contracts" are a complete joke in this industry.

I can get both sides. On one hand you wanna believe in people who show a good work ethic and determination. On the other hand, credibility is at stake when a team is so willing to support a rider who does not/cannot perform how they should, all things considered. When I saw Prado was going to Kawi, I was a little surprised, as they have not been performing here at the level he has been in MXGP. Seemed like a downgrade based on recent events.

Geez seems like just a few weeks ago he was all down and considering retirement and now he's got a wild hair up his ass.  I agree the dude needs to keep this off social media and just bottle this up for the gym and the practice track until he can come out to the actual races and shut people up with his results instead. Nobody GAF about someone that can win 1 race by a mile but can't complete a series, his sponsors included. I'm not going to accuse this on pain meds (he should be off them by now) but he's always had that sort of cocky asshole personality that he's the best. He's quickly running out of time to actually prove it with results and championships with his age.  He should be where Jett and Sexton are right now so I'd simmer down on the talk and for once prove it or shut up.

Well, AC won his first sx race if I remember? Given his amateur history, any team would have signed him given the chance.  No way of knowing things would turn out injury wise like that.

Contract guarantees are a nightmare for the company offering them. It literally breeds the "I'm protected from everything" mentality. Crash or not, I have a ride this year, next year, and the following. Its a terrible business practice when this sport is only as good as your last race.

You think AC needed contract pressure and would have done better had Kawi put that pressure on him? idk

Fair, but when you're trying to sign the hot commodity, what choice do you have?  All manufactures would have to agree, which would never happen.

"What choice do you have?" How about a 2 year deal choice...its not that hard. Then base the next contract off of results. Its very standard. I'm guessing whoever creates these types of contracts is someone at Kawasaki Corp. And whoever that is...needs to be fired.

who else are you going after that has race-winning potential? Only very few elite guys. These two did not work out like expected but still badass on bikes and deserve everything they have gotten.

Do you really think Kawasaki was the only factory offer he had? Coming into the Pro's AF won EVERYTRHING, he was a sure thing, until he wasn't.

He won everything at MC by a mile, and looked unbeatable. Every factory wanted him so Kawasaki did what it had to do to sign him.

Contracts go both ways. Sometimes a guy under-performs and the team is stuck with him for the duration of the contract. Sometimes a guy out-performs his contract and the team reaps the benefit of a cheap contract with no threat of the rider bouncing for a better deal. You also have the variable of a high guarantied salary vs. an incentive heavy contract. You may think oft injured riders are fleecing their teams but if they are on incentive based contracts they're not making squat. The contract game is a little more intricate than you seem to realize.

Both of them with nearly identical track records. Constantly crashing and never reaching true potential. Harsh to hear, but neither of them have earned their contracts for 3-4 years now..
