I think it's because the other KTM group brands are satellite teams. Didn't the Husqvarna truck not even show up to half the races last year? You gotta remember factory KTM didn't even run a 250 team in the US for the longest time. My memory is a bit cloudy on their 250 team but didn't it only start when Marvin came over? It's great they are fielding a 250 team now but they have to realize the competition is getting more and more tight and expecting a dude to go out and wipe the competition is gonna be rare.

Remember when Roger fired Kailub Russell mid way through outdoors?

Yeah #neverforget

Or when they did Webb dirty outdoors?

I support folks spending their money on brands who they back in principal.  If you’re going to give someone $10k+, it might as well be someone...

Bingo that’s exactly why I will never own another ktm group bike, Honda or even consider a triumph

Because Honda is anti-twostroke?

What's wrong with Triumph?

And none of those were ever good enough to warrant a full factory ride from the getgo.

The US regional 250 SX system is so fucked up. Those kind of riders should start out on privately owned support teams like AEO, Club, Phoenix Honda etc and not the factory teams. Maybe being on an AEO type program instead of TLD KTM (Gas Gas now) would result in a lot less pressure to perform and more time to actually build a solid career. Instead they go straight to the factory team with the factory pressure and expectation of results and that is just a recipie for disaster if you aren't good enough (yet).

april fools it sounds like to me JU JU isnt goimg anywhere ..

I agree, the KTM group has completely mismanaged their 250 program by forcing kids to go to the burnout program, but Juju is not losing his ride. They love him there and know he will figure it out,  he has speed, he just needs to learn how to run at the front.

It’s hard to explain how mentally exhausting it is to run that pace with a crowd of guys around you, he’ll learn.

It’s how it should be. You don’t perform you get cut.

I understand where you’re coming from but look at someone like McAdoo. Dude retired because he had no offers and was driving an RV for Christian Craig… fast forward to current day and he has the Red plate for PC Kawasaki.

I see this more as a repeated, short sighted flub KTM keeps doing more than anything else if they’re really thinking Julien is underperforming.

Or Anderson. Roger would've sent him packing long before he ended up winning his championships.

Daniel Blair on main event motos podcast this morning said he heard what Steve said, doesn't think it's true, and hasn't heard anything like that, infact the opposite about juju, they are happy. Probably have another 4 page bash fest on ktm for nothing. Misheard information on Hawkins most likely, who is STILL getting support!

You are right that the full factory 250 team came back in 2011 with Marv and Ken. There was a period of like 4 years where MDK, Jäegermeister, Muscle Milk ran the program into the ground. I think from like 08-10.

The factory 125/250 effort was pretty legit from 01-06. They hired a lot of fast dudes and won a lot of races.

All this is based on one side of the picture. It might be that KTM thinks that Julien is not putting in the work needed to remain on the team? We all must remember that earning a factory ride is no guarantee that you will be able to produce the results to keep it.

I think you guys are jumping to conclusions a bit tho…ktm will keep him through his contract, like they have with everyone else. But if he doesn’t get results (see max vohland), he will be on to a new ride. It’s pretty simple.

Well, sure. But it took until the very end of the race before guys who are "supposed" to beat him were able to get by. Once the first one went, he kind of fell apart. I'm still impressed with his rides all season. For a rookie, he's not bad at all.

If I'm Bobby Regan, I'm going after JuJu ASAP. Seems like the perfect kind of dude to excel under Swanny and that program imo.
