I expect the the knowitalls to rip me apart and call me an idiot but who cares. Until Alabama, Tomac was progressing and appeared to be getting his form back. Then he had 2 terrible races before last nights mediocre 6th. His practice times are good and his heat race speed seems pretty good but he’s starting the main events as if he has no confidence in his ability to finish strong. If he injured himself following Daytona and subsequently, hasn’t been able to practice, these past few weeks would make more sense. As much as people love to write riders off and call them old, riders have proven the haters wrong more times than not. Eli Tomac is a vault when it comes to his health, bike issues, etc and history has proven that he would rather take the hatred than explain why he went from a podium guy to a 9th place guy in a week.
For what it’s worth, I was the guy that made the post about Tomac hurting his knee in ‘22 and I got pummeled😂 I very well could be wrong this time around but if I’m right, I’m gonna change my username to the Tomac whisperer 🤣
What I understand this whole thing is that he wasn't truly 100% when he came back and when he doesn't want to take the risks, to me that means he scared of getting hurt again. When he is truly comfortable and has rides like arlington and last night, even though he settled into 6th, he has the speed to win one of these. I am losing hope fast, but it will take a podium or a rider from back of the pack to the podium or a win for me to gain hope. I gained some in first qualifying, then in the main, I lost that. I just want him to ride good and know that he can trust the bike and himself and his body.
This could be very true but as almost everything related to injuries in this sport, only God knows what's going on
Every one of these riders are dealing with an injury of some kind or more than 1 at some point of the year. They just don’t televise what happened during the week.
Was he even shown or mentioned on the broadcast last night? The battle at the front was so intense after the race I was like, oh yeah what about Tomac.

Most of the tracks have broken down and gotten really gnarly, those ruts were no joke last night for a MX track let alone SX… I suspect risk vs reward is a more likely scenario.
MB19 for prophet.

Why not disclose you have an injury when it happens? Genuine question. Do these guys feel like it's making an excuse for a less than stellar performance or something? Like the Deegan's swore up and down there was no injury. Then when he didn't ride to expectations, it was well we're behind from an injury.
Facts
He just won a race, why are you making excuses for him? I think he is riding just fine this year, about as good as I expected…especially in this rutcross season. I suspect he’s less willing to have a “big one” at this point in his career but when the conditions are right, game on.
Because there are riders, who if they hear about your bum left knee, will aim for your left knee.
I realize that seems harsh, but it’s true.
Everyone wants to think the reality is these guys fight hard on the track, but they’re all bros behind the scenes; or that they’d never intentionally do that. But, they aren’t racing for a few hundred bucks and a plastic trophy. They race for contracts, for sponsors, for their very livelihoods. They - for the most part - don’t have a real job or a degree to fall back on. They’ve been homeschooled since they were six, and their entire future (as they see it) is wrapped up in being the best at this.
Johnny swept the knee on his coach’s command to help a buddy try to win the All Valley tournament in 1984. You think one of these guys is above doing the same to secure a ride, a sponsor, or a payday for their future?
There is a sound logic to not publicizing an injury.
Without saying “because people on Vital want to know” explain your logic for divulging such info.
At this point I’m guessing he’s part of or friends with his inner circle
This post was made a week ago and it turned out to be accurate.
Never give the competition an edge. Mental or physical. Disclosing an injury gives both.
I believe this started in the RC Chad days, Ricky said Reedy was dangerous if he had confidence so it was important to not let him have any kind of mental advantage..
Just wanted to check in…
