In the press conference Tomac said he tweaked his ankle a few weeks ago and was making it hard to balance, could explain some of his issues and also maybe why he seemed unbothered on why he hasn’t won.

Can’t believe nobody asked a follow up question about that.

Eli seemed like he was open to talking more about his recovery and injury. The journalists kept asking silly questions about the triple crown format even after he disclosed an injury nobody’s heard about before on potentially the same ankle that ruined his season last year.

Dude, the press conferences are a joke. Thankfully we have post-race shows from other outlets like Vital or Pulp or Swap that are willing to ask them decent questions. It's like every time they bring MC on the broadcast, the only thing they keep asking him about is if he thinks Jett can beat his records...

I would love to see a rider be forced to say something like "I'd prefer to not answer or talk about that" instead of these boring, repetitive questions and cookie cutter answers.

Gypsy was really the only one asking the good questions.

Steve’s pulpcasts are a tough sell these days. It’s always the same guys as lots won’t give him an interview anymore.

I’m a big Pulp fan, have been for a decade and some change, but recently his bias has been pretty obvious. He literally said he doesn’t think Tomac will be a podium threat anymore after 2 bad races coming off how many 2nd’s???  Well not only did he say that, he asks others what they thinks and argues with their opinion when 99% disagree.

He clearly see’s that Jett will be one of the next biggest names in the sport and he’s doing everything to avoid burning the bridge, and if it involves burning bridges with HOFers to elevate him then so be it (seems to be his attitude). Just doesn’t make for great radio.

That's why I listen to all of them. I think Steve covers a lot of the guys that the other channels don't and he has an opinion just like you and I do. I pay to listen to DB's Main Event Moto podcast and think he has INSANE takes 9 times out of 10 but at the end of the day its entertainment. I don't think you should form any of your opinions or takes based on one single outlet. Blair said 2 weeks ago it's a fair question to ask if Eli will ever get a podium again, let alone a win. I love DB's stuff but he has the wildest hot/cold takes but that what makes it fun to listen to. Matthes has his jokes/takes that he beats to death but still interviews the most privateers and gives them a platform. If you hear it from multiple angles, you can usually find a constant within the mess.

With the exception of the DB show, and the occasional post race Weege show, I listen to nothing before the gate drops, and very little after the checkered flags.

Blair's YNFS hat says it all.

That would make too much sense.

I'll watch DB's clips. For one, they short and a quick watch. Pulp doesnt hold my interest. I'll watch the first 30min or so and I check out. And I listen to 3-4hr podcasts all the time, so it's not my attention span. The only moto pod I really like and have started watching every week is Kellen and Lewis.

I did notice last night he was adjusting his foot before a big hit. And wow, he's hard on a clutch!

Ah yes, such riveting questions like asking McAdoo if he wants his Manscaping stuff to shave his balls. Such awesome and insightful questions.

Blair has some absolutely wild opinions, a few weeks ago he was talking about Jett going to Moto GP.

Wow, I remember him speculating that after Atlanta and most of us on the forum (including myself) giving him a hard time for it based on the fact that Eli finished a pretty strong 2nd in that main. Fast forward a week or two and Eli's falling out of the top 5 in multiple main events and eventually admits he had been nursing an injury sustained at Atlanta. Dude has an eye for these things, I guess.

I think Tomac seemed 'very bothered' the last few weeks though with his results...based on his comments and demeanor when discussing the subject. Interesting about the ankle, thanks for posting.

The press conference questions are mostly horrendous.    I can only imagine how the riders feel having to answer the inane questions.

Hopefully Tomac is 100% and starts kicking ass to the season end.     Last night was a start.  He looked "beasty".

Hope Tomac wins more races but it could also be this track was not the super soft rutfest we know he doesn't like. Hoping for more tracks with dirt like Arlington and St Louis the rest of the way. Feld needs to get better dirt!

And bring back REAL whoops! WTH is going on...

Yeah no, for sure. Or yeah no, or yeah no yeah. You hear variations on most podium interviews.
