When one rider wins all the races and there is no competition for first place, some fans will stop watching. It happened during the MC days. It’s not good for the sport for one guy to win all the races. This appears to be what is happening and going to continue. Will you still watch?
Well! let's cross that bridge when we get to it, this season so far has been one of the best, but Yeah! I'll continue to watch because there will be nights Jett gets a bad start and has to work for it.
Some of the best races aren’t for first place.
Yes.
I wonder if it will help thin
out the Vital Posters who are not real MX/SX fans?
I’m still going to watch every start. But I am starting to have that deja vous feeling from the McGrath era.

I will watch the replay and use fast forward a lot. I will watch 250s and as I am fast forwarding 450s I’ll stop and play when I see good battles and stuff. That’s just me. I don’t think we are there quite yet…but it’s getting closer. This last week I had a definite shift in this worry. I really wanted to see fight from some guys that I didn’t. Webb fought but just didn’t quite have it. He did score a knock down though.
.
…I will continue to watch MXGPs and get my competitive fix there.
I only watched the 250 motos last summer.
5 winners in 9 races. With Tomac and Anderson not among them.
Jett has only won 2 in a row. Should be 3 in a row but he threw one away. The fact he can be comfortably leading and throw one away means that even if he holeshots its not race over. There’s reason to stick around and watch
Theres also freak injuries that can end a season. Tomac had last year all but won… until he didn’t. His season was over without even crashing.
Jett also tends to crash through either pushing too hard to get into the lead or losing focus when he is comfortably leading and just going through the motions. Zero chance he wins out the rest of the races. Hell we have a triple crown coming up snd he always does poorly in them. Tomac or Anderson could very well win the triple crown giving us 6 winners.
Big fan of McGrath and RC..... got bored and stopped watching at some point.
If it ends up that way again, will do the same.
Bring on the "You're not a real fan" comments..... I don't give a crap.
You're not a real fan!
i mean.. F1 seems to be thriving the past year or so...
Dear OP... please let me know when one rider is winning all the races.
Are the trophies that Chase, Kenny, AP, and Coop received this season a figment of my imagination or did they really win? 🤓
"When one rider wins all the races and there is no competition for first place"
Are you watching re-runs of McGrath's races?
…and I love F1…but have been using fast forward a lot the past year. Only reason I watched as much as I did this weekend was to see if an 18year old, that got a call Friday morning, could stay ahead of Norris and Hamilton for 7th…lol Didn’t care about first…Max was gone….again…
Actually.....That did not happen. When MC was dominating, Yes, it was boring for the knowledgeable fan, but for the new and uninformed fans those numbers actually grew tremendously. MC 's domination, and personality did more for the sport than anything we have seen since.
As a fan since 1976 do I want to see one guy win everything? Of course not. So I understand your post.
I do the opposite and slow it down and enjoy viewing the handling characteristics of the cars and passes throughout the field.
I don't know boys. MC, Bradshaw, Hannah, Ricky, James, Reed are beloved, enshrined, and damn near mainstream names, as is Decoster. Pro sports rewards excellence, and though I do not look forward to the next five - eight years of Jett dominance, it is here and now Jett's world, we just live in it. I see no rider available now who can catch and pass him, nobody, and I have followed this sport 50 years anyway. Enjoy him, we are watching excellence.
MC only won in SX , RC had competition in stew and reed in SX. Jett is dominating both and its boring and predictable . Reason i watch MXGP now
AMA 250cc MX Championship – 1995
So, Jett winning races is the End of the World.
Got it.
Pit Row
Yeah, I don't really agree with this. It seems that the most popular eras of the sport are the ones where someone dominated. I'll agree it's not as exciting, especially for hard-core fans, but I think people like watching someone who seems destined to break records. It makes it feel like your part of something special.

Jett (defeated 4 times this year)
Get on board dude! 😅🤣😂
Deegan isn't going to be a threat, and I wonder who could possibly challenge him..?
I just hope we have this kind of parity and depth when we get to the great outdoors.
All this time I thought there were 21 other spots on the track in SX and 39 in MX. It is crazy how much focus is placed on the winner and so little on second, 3rd ,etc. The cameras will find battles and show them if this happens. Just like they always have done. The last spot to qualify often ends up being the best battle of the night.
It could be good for the sport. You always seem to get mainstream press when You have a single team/person dominate. You start to see them on late night shows and in places that are not common. MC, Tiger woods,Tom Brady to name a few. It can be very good for getting more eyes on the Sport. If nothing else it will be fun to watch another rider achieve some wild things if Jett starts to win more often. He looks like he could be the guy for a while. Maybe it will get some more euro guys to come over and give it a shot? We will see.
Maybe Tom Vialle?
No… I will never stop watching live SX or MX..if Jett continues to win, I will cheer for the other racers all the while, also appreciating Jett’s level of performance…I was there for MC”s dominance, my buddies and I would gather every Saturday nite to hopefully watch someone dethrone him, but we still respected MC.
Dominating MX. Sure. Undefeated is dominating.
Dominating Supercross? 4 wins from 9 races and only leading by 13 points is nowhere near dominating. If Webb wins the next triple crown like he did the last, that is 4 wins to 3 and 10 points or less between him and Jett. Hell if Jett had a really bad race and Webb won, he could be the points leader.
The reality is this is going to be very McGrath like. I just don’t see anyone with the talent to beat Jett once he locks in
Prado outdoors, for wins at least.
I don’t see that at all. Prado has a lot of flaws in his game. Jett doesn’t.
You forgot to mention this is his rookie 450 sx season. Hes got these old dingbats covered like a wrinkly sack.
