Deegan Ends Shock's Season 💭

3/10/2024 7:28am

I’ve always liked Deegs, but he acted, and rode like a bitch last night.

What he did to Cody really pissed me off because there was absolutely no need for it. He’s having a crappy season because of his own mistakes, he needs to accept that.

Not that it matters at all what I think... but besides claim-gate, I always gave Deegan the benefit of the doubt.

He's young, he's fast and he works hard, forget the family name or advantages he's had or whatever else, he's young and he's still developing.

Last night was just so ugly though. Getting super shitty at Hammaker for an accident and then cleaning Coty Shock out and ending his season when he really didn't have to go in that hard... Just flustered and pissed off at his own performance that night and puts Coty back on the couch.

I always thought people were out of line for calling the kid an entitled little punk.

Coty experienced racing about one week after collarbone surgery, back in 2021. He's tough and his story isn't over yet, I can almost guarantee we'll see him on the line in Indy. Cool

Deegan’s riding is way over rated . His style is very awkward and I don’t see a huge potential speed increase upside to him . There are a few 250 riders in the class now that have much more potential than Deegan . He’s about maxed out … guys that think he is going to challenge Jett are delusional .

Just think, after listening to RC and Weege spitballing 5 years or more is a long time to carry the worry of payback.

I'm sure you're right, but I really do hope so. If he didn't have bad luck he'd have no luck at all.

I said this yesterday. I'm not a fan of his style at all.  The over revving and almost over scrubbing every single bump on the track. I don't see it translating to a 450. Of course, things can change and technique can be corrected. I will say every position counts and every point matters in a championship. My problem with it is he blatantly cut a huge chunk of the track for no reason. He didn't get pushed off track. A couple dudes went down so he just accelerated around the whole mess. He never should have even been behind Coty

We need to find out who is to blame for the initial collarbone break, and shift that to Deegan.

So Deegan broke his collarbone twice in the same break…

Super lame. Not sure how his “fans” are going to defend this one. From throwing down Seth’s bike and acting like a 6 year old to smoking Coty for a position to seeing him and his mechanic “fake laughing” at the end of the main when they were talking to the ama and club boys. Pretty immature and he’s definitely making some enemies.

Not a HD fan, but to answer your question, they'll point to (remember JS landing on RC) RC throwing JS's bike. Or GL cleaning out MA. This kid grew up in a house that the parents got rich by NOT adhering to rules. That's who he is, he won't change. We don't have to like it, we just have to understand it's not going to change on it's own. The only way it will change is when the other riders start taking care of business on the track and he develops some respect for them. He's probably at home right now laughing his ass off at our bitching.

Just to recap:

- First turn incident, gets upset, yells at Seth and throws Seth’s bike to the ground in frustration

- goes to PC pits after the heat to continue yelling at Seth

- bad start in the main, goes even further off track than everyone else who got pushed wide and starts clicking gears barreling through mechanics/track personnel

- last lap/last turn takes out Schock

- proceeds to get in a yelling match with an AMA official

- gets docked two positions for the off track excursion

Ugly scene that-I'm beginning to think that Yamaha needs to do something where education on the part of others has been lacking

I doubt any dad would NOT buy his kid a Yamaha because HD rides for them, but Yamaha gets a lot of exposure when HD is on the track. So don't expect anything from the boys in blue.

When I hear people defend Deegan by using the “he’s just kid” line it sends me through the roof. This is a learned behavior that unfortunately mommy and daddy didn’t nip when he was a toddler. So now he still acts like that same toddler. After his antics do you think pop grabs him by the scruff of the neck in the pit? Not a chance. Prob just throws him the devil horns like the douche he is. My old man would’ve bitchslapped me into next Tuesday. I’ve got a 14 year old son who knows better than to behave like “dangerboy”  The 38 will never grow up so stop waiting for it.

Your old man didnt do much for you compared to deeg’s.
You act like you’re his step brother or something and have first eye witness intel.

I kinda thought he was getting faster everytime he got on the bike. But you’re right he may have capped out a couple races ago. I was digging his progress and how he was upsetting the vitard cognoscenti, but after last night it’s awfully hard to cheer for him.

Hammaker biting his lip in his post race interview.

He had more to say.

As long as Deegan cares more about "the brand" than he does racing/winning, this is the type of crap that will continue.  Oh, I'm certain he cares about winning - just not more than he does "the brand".

I think riders need to let everyone know if they have any cracks, breaks or other type of injuries so that they can be treated more gently on the track..Blink

I think Haiden Deegan is in for a rough time in the future, because when eventually he moves up to the 450 class, he's going to be racing against a Jett Lawrence that is at the height of his ability and experience.  He'll never win a 450 title and become something like the next Vince Friese, where he pulls a lot of BS moves in his desperate attempts to purposely injure and take out his competition, but instead will pancake himself into the hospital.   He's really coming off as an entitiled punk who was always given the best of everything as far as I'm concerned.   Talented rider, but his attitude is going to limit his acheivements.

Yep. He’s the modern day Barcia of 2018. Over riding and over revving the shit out of his bike. He’ll win a bunch but has got a lot of change to make if he thinks he’s going to run with the big dogs in 450.

To make matters worse the little shit and his mechanic were laughing about Shock. With the results he’s having this season, apart from his win, I really wonder what Star actually thinks about his antics/terrible tactics.

They love it.  The have let good riders go and silenced others in support of it.

The mob has clearly already assembled with the torches lit in here for Deegan but that pass was for position and is part of racing Supercross. Nothing wrong with that pass but, again, the mob has already made up its mind so downvote away.

that pass was a pure take out plain and simple, don’t defend it like it was for a championship like Zach did to Joey, it was for 7th place. Baby deegs is a desperate little tool bag just like his old man was and now has moved it up a notch to personal endangerment of other riders in a sport that is already dangerous enough… that was pathetic and the ama should have suspended him for 2 rounds!

So was this pass and it cost Barcia 3 points.

That was a totally legit pass. If you're not going for it on the last turn of a main event then you shouldn't be racing. Its a bummer for Coty but thats not on Deegan.
