Its an american series, television show and station at the end of the day. They just have a long history of hiring a woman with a british/non-american accent for that trackside position pretty much since i can remember after erin burnett. Georgia lindsay did the job well. But still reeks of some kind of discrimination to me, they won't just hire an american girl because they want to sound high and mighty with someone who "poos on the loo" or whatever

I like Will Christensen. I don't really care that much what she says, but she has a positive attitude, good energy, very upbeat. She brings a more youthful and nice touch to the sport.
This is not about RC, but as I've critized him often I do think he did a better job at Daytona.

I've said it before. I like her because so many people whine like little babies about her . Announcers are secondary to me . I can tune them out if need be . I'm more concerned with the production and not missing action on the track . But back to Will .... I hope they have her signed to a long term deal .

I enjoyed the Daytona show. The hours of Race Day & the entire race broadcast including the Flash-Mob rushing onto the track WHILE THE MAIN WAS STILL RUNNING!
James crushed it and is funny as hell. RC & JS together with The Weege as a proper desk host works for me.
As for Ms Christensen? Doesn’t bother me one bit. She’s easy one the eyes, quite pleasant in person and, for me…yes, you can call this sexist of you find the need…but…Aussie women sound sexy to me. So, there’s always that.
I’ve got only one wish when it comes to the broadcast: I’d like Daniel back.
People are lying if they say they mute the race. Even as fans how long would you just want to watch without any audio to see why they are following video a rider in 6th place around the track? You need something to cheer for or feel about and in some cases be glad you aren’t having their bad luck position. They are usually pretty accurate to anticipate things like a pending pass with lap times or someone fading and may have a reason why.
Yeah I don't mute anything . By tune out I just mean not really pay attention to what they're saying . It's background noise and I've never really cared who's in the booth . I guess I'm in the minority on that one .
I am surprised how many people can jump in the booth as former racers where it’s not like Bailey was some special gifted announcer where he often repeated the same points like LaRocco’s strong tough fitness, Lusk can’t catch a break, or Jeremy doing things a little different but no one talks about him as an announcer. It was fun with him covering Jeremy with Art but he was no life of the party on his own with a moany complaining voice and wouldn’t even say hi to me at a race. If an event is live it’s even more pressure since a lot of older stuff was prerecorded and rebroadcasted. Back in the day we didn’t get coverage like this without the internet. Start complaining if you can only get blurry VHS at 2am where they cut to commercial half the show.
That’s funny that you don’t pay too much attention because I rewind if I thought I missed a point since they know what they are talking about even often they state the obvious like that the wheels pushed on loose dirt or they leaned over too far. Stewart has some new insights and JT too like about the lighting from the sides at Daytona.
If you bring daniel back from the Racer X archives vault does that mean JT and his fro-hawk get sent back to the gym for more muscles to flex holding the mic for other coverage?
I didn't know that about the NFL. In Australasia and the UK it's a new thing.

A tiny little female reporter sticking a microphone up 2 feet to a big juiced NFL player or a 7’2” basketball player makes it look pretty dramatic and heroic.
Will say this again and again. It's not that Will Christian should not be on the broadcast but no way in Hell does she need to be part of the race action. Take a cue from the GP coverage and how they use Lisa Leyland.

I'm sure she's very nice in person and she's an attractive lady no doubt. ...and it's not the accent. I loved Georgia Lindsay. It's not about any of that. She's just bad at her job. The blathering/shrill word salad is just intolerable, she adds nothing to the broadcast.
Haley Shanley kicks her ass up and down the field all day long on RDL. Ashley Reynard did too. We need moto ladies representing us.

I accidentally stumbled upon this about announcers and didn’t think it was that big of a deal. I think Will is truly happy for the riders and knows what they go through which could give her an edge over some more cut-throat reporter types. I haven’t seen that many race reporters but they tend to talk more like they are on the 6:00 news which Will doesn’t so at least I will give her that credit for not sounding too corporate or robotic. Maybe she is a little dramatic but the riders aren’t robots under the helmet even though some teams try to treat them that way so she can take the pressure off and let them be themselves instead of just a podium sponsor thank you and ad campaigns. It’s a tough sport and if the riders are comfortable and not intimidated by someone that’s a good sign where she may get more effort and motivation out of them and or more insight as less confrontational stick-a-microphone-in-your-face type. McAdoo just told Lewis that he’s got a broken leg so everyone up there on the podium has reason to be happy after a race surviving tough conditions and getting top 3 or better. JT is pretty relaxed and pumped too.

I'm not one of those guys that bitches weekly about the broadcast but Will has actually gotten worse over the years with the long stories during the heat of a battle.
That sucks, i hate how the honeymoon phase cant last forever, they were pillow fighting last i saw when Al got hurt at Daytona. The racing world sometimes seems like Back to the Future 2 to me in an alternate universe tangent with Marty McFly in Oak Park cemetery and Biff taking over like trump who they joked it to be.
I opened a can of worms trying to make a simple comment how Will brightens and lightens things up a little. She may not be as diverse of a reporter but it helps to have some simple humor and story that she may not even be writing herself…a lot of tv looks natural but it is scripted by some non vital mx guru who has a marketing sales job instead of industry insights. I believe what i hear from the accent at least to offer more than just racing details and passes. You want to relate to the riders stories if they can put a few together lol.
