Reed seemed like he answered the question whether he would be able to go fast enough, and sort of smiled about it. I still wish he would have raced, but if he wasn't sure he could do 20 laps just yet, I guess wait another week, since he's got nothing to gain.

It almost seemed like he was able to go faster if he wanted to, and still had more in reserve.

We'll find out in a week or so.

I watched both of Chad's interviews, and he said " I have to be here for autographs" twice.

I'm not looking to nit-pick, but it sounded like it's a chore for him to sign for his fans.

I doubt it, it seems like Reed has gained a lot of fans in the last 2 years and he's enjoying the whole media/fans thing more.

Also keep in mind that Kawasaki had that little dilemma of 3 riders and 2 bikes.

It was good to see Reed out there, though.

Was the 2009 SX Champion at Daytona?

The one not laughing is the 41st qualifier Jason Langford who didn't make the show b/c Reed rode practice but didn't race.

They did seem like they played it up pretty good.

From what I heard after practice early in the day Reed knew he wasn't racing and so did many other people.

why wasn't teh 41st qualifier allowed to line up if Reed pulled out? Hows that work?

People are touchy these days. Langford had a fair shot just like the guy that got the last gate in the night show. As for Chad, he did was he stated he was going to do all week. He rode practice and was going to make a last minute decision. Also, for the media and "having" to sign autographs. Reed mentioned he was over going to the races and not racing. Hence being there for autographs and being bummed. Look people, he isn't lying or toying with you. Put the tackle box thoughts away.

At least he shows up to the races even though he isn't racing. Can't say the same for other riders that are more worried about promoting themselves, their reality shows and their material possessions instead of their sponsers.

I don't know about that, it seems like he's more bummed about the fact that, that's the only job he really can do right now, like you can tell he really wants to come back and be up front and he's sayin he has to be here to sign autographs and it's probably annoying to do be doing everything except for what you really want to be doing. Idk just what i took from it.

I was surprised he was that fast in practice. What changed since the first few sx rounds on the Kawi? When he was healthy, he wasn't exactly challenging for the lead. He's been injured since then, so it's not like he's been out testing. It will be cool if he comes back with the speed he had last year.

Ab5772, Chad has a serious stomach problem with metal right now. He says it is not allowing him to train and ride how he wants. The hand was not his main priority when he got hurt. Bones heal, he wanted to figure out his stomach.
