I have a fair bit of slack on mine.   But I also run my levers way in.    It's annoying me about not having the rubber sleeve as well and looks like you need to buy the whole ktm line just to get it.

I did just switch to the rekluse adjustable slave cylinder from the gytr one since I'm running there cx 4.0 kit.   It got rid of the little bit of vague feel I couldn't get out of the gytr one no matter how much I bled it.

I got to ride my dad’s 24 yesterday and man these things are good! Only got a lap in before I over jumped a table and completely flat landed a good 10feet or more passed the landing haha! I felt at home on it within a corner or two.

One thing I noticed instantly, these things are fast!!!! I can’t wait to ride it again at some point and put some more time in on it.

Oh ya, and that stock seat feels like a 2x4 when you drop from the sky 😂

Do the rear wheels from the 18-22 fit the 23-24 yz450f models?  OR what is the best source for a spare rear?  I know I can order one from Dubya or similar.

What is the most comfortable seat for this bike? I'm old and the acceleration bumps coming out of corners hurt my prostate so bad I stand up when I need to be resting. All I have found so far is the Guts wide seat foam. Whatever it costs I don't care this crappy seat has shortened my life span I know. Worst seat ever on a dirtbike.

Yes the Guts wide seat foam is a game changer for this bike.  Just get it already and your butt will thank you.

Also get a bump and buy the complete seat it’s so much better than wresting it yourself. Use the pulp code and it’s much more affordable.

Can I get a durability check on these things 23/24 250/450. In just my personal circle my friends have had really bad luck, but maybe it's just a coincidence. They are faster dudes, but to have motors grenading on modern 450s just should happen. Honestly the only thing keeping me from switching orange to blue.

40 hrs on my 23. Zero issues. I tend to do longer Moto’s every weekend. I just keep up on oil and filter religiously. I absolutely love this bike. Rode Kawi for 10 years. nice to ride a bike that turns.

60 hours on my '23 with zero issues. No one else I know that owns the bike has had any issues either. Sounds like you're the one who needs to let us know about all of the issues you're aware of 🤷‍♂️

no mechanical issues on mine 2024(15hours, moto only) I did run into the "water in the tc/map switch issue.  bike would crank but would start.  I unplugged it from the female plug on the left side of the fram by the steering stem and it started right up.  Ran with no issues.  Looking for a OEM replacement now.  Thats the only grip so far but its a cheap easy fix, and other then that I love this bike.  coming for 2022 ktm 450sxf

Hey, What types of issues have you seen with your friends?

Do you know how many hours and what part?

Overall, I have heard good things. I think Keefer had talked about some bottom end issues, but nothing confirmed issue.

Sorry I don't know the full details but the 4 450s I know of at least one rod that ended up cracking the case and 2 heads that were destroyed. Plus 2 guys had electrical issues. One shutting his bike off mid moto which is wild. All these guys are A/B riders who take care of their stuff. As for the 250s I just know a guy at a training facility and he says it's a common occurrence to see them lock up. That being said those kids probably might be tapping into that rev limiter a bit.

Wanted to post a correction to a previous comment of mine on Vortex ECU from twisted development.

Further up I mentioned that you had to turn traction control on every time you restarted the bike, but that actually isn’t accurate. Once you turn traction control on, if you kill the bike and it doesn’t sit for too long, it will still be on when you restart the bike.

Also confirmed that if you open up the ECU rubber boot a little bit, you can slide it further back on the side of the IMS tank and tuck it in behind the shrouds, keeping it away from the shock reservoir. Much better fit.

Got to try the 10 maps from twisted today versus the gear based mapping, and a couple of the maps would be awesome for motocross or GP’s.

Specifically the less engine braking map is really noticeable over deceleration bumps and changes the feel of the front end. First map (Keefer map) has great throttle control as well.

Wanted to share in case anybody is thinking about trying one of these from twisted. I’m actually putting mine up for sale right now, since I race several disciplines, and need something a little bit different for off-road.

Thank you for the replies, I guess I need to call them because I didn't see a complete seat for the 23 450. What's the Pulp code is it on the Pulp MX site or something? THanks.

We have the seat concepts element xl and comfort xl that are wider than stock.  I am running one on a 24 that is a snowbike and love it.  Haven't ridden on the seat in the dirt.  If you wanted one of these let me know we have them.

I have tested the standard Vortex mapping and we have our own mapping for the Pro Circuit and the FMF pipes that works really good.  All the Vortex stuff we have tried is a good improvement over stock.

You obviously haven't ridden a Beta. THOSE are the worst seats to ever be on a modern motorcycle. Laughing

I have the Seat Concepts comfort seat tall and it is a game changer.

How can the Beta seat be worse than the new Yamaha seat? That thing is horrible Laughing

Apologies if this has been asked/answered before, but I just installed a full FMF system (spark arrester removed) to my '24 YZ450 and curious if anyone has any recommended Yamaha Power Tuner maps for that system. Only other variable i've installed is the Twin Air Powerflow. Currently running one of the Keefer Maps, but feel like it could use some more fine tuning with the pipe.

Thanks

If you liked the stock mapping, run the Hard Hitting map from Yamaha with the FMF. Cleans things up and it's a monster
