Haven't had a feeling like that in my gut since roczen's crash in '17. Brutal. He was riding so well

Forkner's career reminds me of Cianciarulo's. An immense talent wasted by this desire for glory and to be ahead at all costs. For him and his family, it is high time to stop to preserve his long-term health. We don't need to witness a tragedy that will make him a diminished person.

Oh stop it. If he was the only one doing the jump combo that way you may have a point, but he wasn’t. He’s been in total control of the bike both races this season, he just got bit by a sketchy section of the track that I’m surprised didn’t ruin more dudes tonight.

Hard not to feel terrible for the guy. He had that, just didn’t wheelie enough to fully preload the bike and get the pop.

Bummer. Hope he’s able to get it back.

Curious. How so? It's just plastic to protect from roost

God damn dude, this isn't 1990. Have you worn modern body armor?

No, fill me in. They have airbags now or somethin?

Yes they do, roadracers have been wearing them for years. And walking away from crashes of over 100mph because they crash into the kitty litter. Supercross needs a Kenny Roberts type advocate.

Regardless of what's been said over the last 5 pages, I for one hope Forky is as ok as possible after that horrible turn of events.

He is a beast, a warrior, and has proved it over and over, and above all, he's a racer. I wish him the best in a quick recovery and hope to see him back in the same form he was showing as soon as possible.

Racers race and winners win, he is both of those!

Would be nice if they could line the concrete next to rythms with something like wresting mats to soften the blow. That hit was brutal 😢

No kidding, how many times have we seen rider ejected and land on the concrete around track. Some of these guys are lucky enough to walk away, some don't and some are like changing injuries. Spend some money and start protecting riders!

How about the foam pit stuff that freestylers jump into? One thing is for certain, trying nothing to soften the impact should be unacceptable.

Its nuts how similar this crash is to villopotos crash at 2013 monster cup. Clips the table gets squirley into the next face and explosion.

I was hoping that I would wake up this morning and it would all just be a giant nightmare and that he actually won.

Least surprising thing I’ve ever seen. Same shit every year. Sincerely hope he can make a full recovery.

This. Plus he was sketchy as fuck in this same section in the 3-4 laps before the crash.

So let me Right….:so they wanted 9 whoops as a starting point to keep guys safe but let’s have a 4th gear on it,wheelie over a hump to jump over a table with such a tight lip right after it,there is no room for air, then the bottomed is all “g” out .  He should have been on a backboard instead of walking. He was clearly in a lot of pain and you don’t know what injuries anyone has untill there are scans. Adrenaline hides a lot.

Backboard is not the best, there is no evidence that backboards are beneficial and some evidence that they do harm. Forkner may have refused the backboard

I’ve been an EMT for 6 years and idt I would have him walking in a c-collar after that. They had a backboard right next to him. Something about the Alpinestars medical crew gives me bad vibes. It’s a race and it’s also this kid’s life. Red flag it if you have doubts don’t make him walk to the mule jfc.

brings me back to Brian moreau and “do no harm” as a thing we preach

Im a EMS in NorCal . We walk patients with an ‘X collar’ on to the gurney if able to walk. This is after accidents or any other traumatic event. It’s our protocol that is published for our county.

Being a doctor on scene and his time on the floor. They most likely held manual Cspine while the ruled out any further possibility of lower spinal injury.
The case where Brian was injured was diff due to the rush of him being dragged off the track. That wasn’t correct imo.

Can only echo the other comments in that it was horrible... One of those crashes that leaves you with a sick feeling.

I'm traditionally not a fan of his but Iv'e been rooting for him this year just out of, Idk, acknowledgment I suppose, to the sheer strength of will he's shown from coming back over and over. Hard to not tip ones hat to that sort of courage. But I also got to be honest in that the back of mind I was half expecting (dreading) a crash like this, I think we all were. The guy never seems to just get off easy - roughed up but otherwise OK, enough to salvage a 10th etc (though given the hit he took I guess you could say he was indeed lucky...). My best wishes to him.

Slightly short and he has that kind of crash, was gutted when I watched the race this morning.

Gets out to a lead by laying it down lap one, fixes his whoop line when deegan started catching him, and then that.

I hope nothing is broken and he's just sore as heck.

Dude needs to get off the Kawi. Other guys were doing this quite a bit and their bike just soaked it up, sure it slowed them down but it didn’t buck them off. Forkners bike seems really rigid and unforgiving.

The scary part was he looked so smooth and in control. Not ragged at all

One thing I’ve noticed about Deegan. He seems to be a lot more over the top on TV and pre-race Feld media/interviews than during regular media interviews/press conferences. Almost as if he’s trying to put on a show for the “dumb” masses that watch his YouTube. And acts more mature for the “hardcore” fans that watch Racer X/Vital interviews. Take a look at how much more humble he is here:

https://youtu.be/Gt8k12OTjr4?si=rGa00tytu0lJcUVb

still rubs me the wrong way how he acts on TV, but it seems he has more maturity in him, he just chooses to be a dick for the clicks when everyone is watching

That video isn't 30 seconds after he just won his first Supercross race. His dumb little 18 year old self-centered emotionally retarded brain has had time to chill the fuck out.
