Haven’t had a bike in 2 years, longest stretch I’ve gone without since I was 14! Got the blessing to go pick out a new one and ended up with a 24 KTM 125. Went with the XC as I wanted spring forks. Mixed up some 98 octane at 40:1 and this thing absolutely rips.
Any tips or things to look out for on these bikes? Especially the TBI motor. I plan to tear it down and grease everything and check all the electrical connections this weekend.
Nice bike dude. Whats up with these "spoke with my wallet" threads? I always speak with my credit score. Then in a year or so speak again with some douche on FB market place trying to sell. Am i doing it wrong?

here’s what you have to look forward to! Some 125 shredding!!
Awesome!
Be sure to put up a ride report when you get some time on it.
Congrats!!! 125s are the most fun!!
As with all KTMs, make sure to check your spokes almost every ride until they stay tight. There are some threads on Vital about ECUs if you have any trouble. Seems like some of the TBI 125 KTMs work great and others need an ECU with aftermarket mapping.

SWEEEEET!!! Those are awesome “do it all” bikes…GREAT choice! Have FUN! 😎 👍❗️
Nice one! There are a lot of bikes in that shop...
Hey guys, wanna argue about financing again? It's been a couple months since the last one.
Congrats on a good running unit.
I have read that the TBI's were not raced at Loretta's National, as they are not competitive with carb bikes. It would be a good idea to search some threads here.
Unsolicited advice, just like the bitches on The View give.
Wait, the XC’s come with spring forks??? I may need to update my shopping list
Yes they do! That’s why I went with the XC over the SX
Would be nice to have spring forks in all of the normal models and air forks just in the Factory Editions. Seems like that would be a perfect set up. Normal guy doesn't want to mess with air forks or spend $800 to put springs in. KTM - you're welcome.
There's no harm in financing a bike at 0% like a lot of the ads I see right here on vital. Regardless, you'll still have to get your wallet out at some point and speak 2-stroke or 4-stroke. I haven't had a 125 since 1987 but that doesn't mean I don't want one...
Badass. Have fun bro
Technically, the best way to purchase a dirt bike is to put it all on a credit card paying 2X on all purchases.
Then pay off the card asap...
Ooh that was good . I never saw Marv ride a 125. Looks perfect . And a heal clicker. He’s soo good on 2-strokes . I hope he races a few this yr. Ktm 125 r a little slow to get spooled up. The DBP is quicker to hit . There for it has 20 foot lead coming off a corner. Quickness always beats strength.
Back before the 150 was just a big bore 125
The new spring forks so far are really good. I've got 15 hours on my '24 250xc and they are great for fast offroad and slow techy rocks. I've also ridden them on several mx tracks, one they did great, the others no bueno.
Works good at a slower, tighter mx track that got super rough. Tried at two other tracks with bigger jumps and the bike doesn't have enough hold up on jump faces and when braking bumps get real big.
I also put the TSP mid compression head on and have their tune and the programmer. Stock is was pretty rich on the bottom, midrange and felt lean on top. Works better now and can actually pull a gear high in the slow rocky stuff.
Pit Row
There is no sweeter sound than a 2-stroke.....doubly so for a buck and a quarter displacement.
Electric bikes can SUCK it.
I sure miss Marv racing.
Soo Stylish , I hope Marv races the world 2 stroke race at GH. Quickness might beat strength but on the GH start . The Ktm 150,s just b4 the 1st corner catch the quick bikes. And go by them like there on the after burner. It’s crazy amount of faster. Even the true 125,s Ktm, Tc, Gas Gas modded hv a great start & at the end of the start . The 150,s on after burners blow rt by.
Congrats! The look of these new KTMs have really grown on me - beautiful bikes. Isn’t the suggested ratio 60:1 out of the box? Best of luck with the new ride.
Do yourself a favor and just get one.
My little blue pill says "YZ125" on the side... and it works every time! But I've never called a doctor when the fun lasts more than four hours.
(got a red pill too, and I get the same results from it)
Nothing gets my juices flowing like when the tiddler comes on the pipe and starts singing like a jazz sax!
125’s call for 40:1
Yup....if I was going to buy a 125 today, i'd be a YZ. Simple carbed motor with a proven chassis/suspension and Yamaha reliability.
I love mine.
Period.
More smiles per mile than I can count and it makes me feel like I can actually ride... which is saying something!
