Now that his four rounds of SX is over, can we finally agree that a motocross world champion can adapt to SX fairly quick?
Results-wise he has done what i thought he would and i am fairly confident that he left some results on the table with riding smart and not risk the mxgp season.
The real question is: old frame or new frame?
I'm pretty sure, that next year he'll be on the track for a full season.
Old.
Old and different than his MXGP frame.

He did great, it has to be hard for a world champion to just leave his ego behind and battle his ass to the death for 10th place..
he did it with class, was friendly and provided great interviews.. I knew very little about him before but count me in, I’m a fan!!
He had what... 6 weeks prep leading into A1. And he departs inside the top ten.
Not bad for someone only a month older than Levi Kitchen.
Good call, agree totally 👍
Lad just loves racing and is all about pushing himself. I know that goes for all these elite guys to some degree, but to actively seek out a humbling in an unfamiliar series is awesome.
Got to respect it, can't wait to see him back at it.
And how could you not like the guy? He looked like he genuinely was having fun and learned a lot if he decides to come over full-time.
I agree 100%. Enjoyed his interviews.
I wish Herlings had the balls to come over and do it when he was younger, it wouldn't have ended well but would have been great to watch what he could do before he broke himself.
Going to be some Factory seats open next year…..Prado stock on the rise… not sure of his contract status but KTM group would be foolish to let him go to someone else.
So glad this was a positive experience for him & can't wait for him to be here full time next year!
A good rider is a good rider.
A great rider can adapt to pretty much anything.
Roczen had practically zero SX experience before he came here direct from MXGPs. Ferrandis had marginally more experience being from France. Same goes for the Lawrences.
Prado is an exceptional talent. And maybe more importantly, his mind is open to learning a new discipline. I also think we'll see a new level of riding from him this MXGP season. The technical influences of SX will only improve his skillset outdoors.
Alle those reporter ask the stupidest thing .....from what he thinks of supercross...and what he thinks of america....but none of those so-called reporters actually ask him what it's really about ....whether he wants to go to america for seriously less money
Prado will be here next year and I wouldn't be surprised if he's on a different color. AC's contract is up, and I could see Kawi making a big push for Prado. I love AC, but I could see this as a landing spot.
Since you seem to have the inside scoop, how much seriously less money would he be making in the US?
Pit Row
I think he came out of it looking good but I also think so did the SX regulars. It was a reminder that SX is a unique discipline and that no one can just walk into it (especially the 450s) and expect to be at the sharp end of things - no matter how good they are somewhere else (which he himself expected and was open about). However, with that in mind, to be as good as he was, definitely impressive!
To see what kind of animal this SX is and learn a little. He's alive, didn't crash once, looked ok and 10th in points.
Mission completed successfully
Especially in A1 and A2, on dry tracks, with the intensity turned up to an 11. Very impressive
Was he in the opening ceremonies? Hopefully he got some sort of cheers, the dude earned it
He made me a fan. Whats not to like?
He’s a happy guy, with good personality, good sportsmanship, incredibly talented and was willing to try something new where he wasnt a realistic chance at winning. Considering the circumstances I would say it was a pretty successful experiment too.
He showed how caring he was when Jett had that practice crash and he stopped to look out for him. I feel he would comfortably be a regular top 5 guy if he did it full time… which would be incredible in this stacked field.
I'm curieus how many riders in the usa earn 5 million
Are you speaking on a yearly basis, or term of a contract?
This is what he earns per year.......,i have this money amount because herlings said in a dutch intervie that he earned 4.5 million in year he became champioen so prado will also earn something like that
Im guessing there is a difference with being named Herlings and also winning every gp but two that year. Compared to Prado not having Herlings previous results, not really performing in the mxgp class earlier years, and also only winning 2 gp's that year he won the title. Ferrandis said hes making like 10 times more money being in Usa.
Cool kid, I am a fan.
He is going to bet on himself. You have the opportunity to make significantly more money in the states than Europe. Will he win enough to realize those financial gains? Who knows but he believe he can.
In the same herlings interview you referenced later on even herlings says the guys in the USA make significantly more money.
I’m I the only one who is really excited to watch him race in AMA motocross? I know SX is why he’s coming but I’m still more pumped to see him outdoors.
