Why is McGrath "The King" in the Current Era?

1/25/2024 1:25pm

I can see the OP point of view,

However you could think the SX competition was thin, but when you compare his 96 MXDN result you can see he was also at the time, the King of the world.

I’m young. Born in 97. Of course the guys in 2024 are going so much faster. If you took 2024 speed and equipment and put them up against 90s speed and equipment the guys in the 90s would get absolutely smoked. That’s just progression and you see it in every sport. MC could only race the equipment that was available and the guys that were racing. It’s easy to look back and say 2010+ doesn’t compare to 90s. Just like the 90s didn’t compare to the 70s and so on. Like it or not MC has 72 wins. The record books show it. Case closed

He has 72 sx wins, more than anyone. Why is it being debated? Mic drop

Who is equating 90s to 2010s? "The King" is a nickname, like Richard Petty. It doesn't mean he'd beat RV or Dungey head to head if you had a time machine. He beat his contemporaries, more than anyone else ever has. He deserves the respect and legendary status.

This is exactly who I thought of when I read this post heading. Richard Petty will always be the King. Just like MC will.

None of us control when we are born, all we can do is beat the best of our era and no one smoked their generation more than the King.

I'm sure he could if he was Donn Meada from Swap Moto Live, but he's not.

Owens location says Kentucky. He has yet disproved this. He is not going to know who DonM is.

You gotta wonder how many times you'll have to make that PSA on this board.   I've been seeing that for years and people still have a case of mistaken identity.  Silly

There's no mistaken identity with the OP, he's had enough former usernames to know Don isn't Swap.

To be fair, he's only been a member for less than a year.

72 means a shitload to MC fans. The real number is 150.

RC passed MCs 89 wins when he was 23. 150 is the real number. These guys get paid to win SX and MX.

Everyone took it so personal, like MC is your uncle or something. I never said anything about him as a rider just the records and whether it was relevant today given how the sport is changed. My position is that the 72 wins thing is not apples to oranges. You guys are in here talking about how he visited marines or something on the carrier and how he's nice to fans at races. What?? What is wrong with you lmao

Did you ever answer the question of how old you are? I’m hoping no older than 15.

Exactly that was his way of letting me know I was on the right path as in his previous user names he would do the same thing...its the same guy...

Unless you're a mod, if you've in to the point of tracking users names and speculating who barged in again this board may have lost its fun for you.

I've been  watching since the early  90's.  The sport has not changed enough to matter.  His record is absolutely  still relevant.

Stick and ball players also get paid for playoffs so this take really doesn’t track

You're aware it's possible to notice patterns in posting styles and not be "tracking users names," right?

I don't care that much.  It doesn't seem to me to be a fun thing to care about.  But that's just me, and it may matter more to others.

100% agree.

Ohhh man you old miserable fucks 😂
Here you are shitting on Jett fans yet you all just gobble up Mcgraths dick

'God I love that guy!!'

'My GOAT forever'

'Then he said the coast is clear in the comments LOL' 🤤

Posting clips of movies !? Hahah you're as pathetic as it comes.
Did that make your dick hard?

Mcgraths a dick!! Always has been.Cocky and self centered
'R.J who?' As a butt patch!? What fucking clown does that! Had Friese worn something to that effect you'd be hanging him from the rafters

Prime McGrath wouldn't survive in this current climate not forgetting that RC4 knocked this guy off years ago and still can't hold a flame to his skill level.

The 'King' of this sport-is Ricky Carmichael.
McGrath ain't shit compared to RC's accomplishments.

Fuck your childhood hero and his man titties.
