Here is a  Prototype filter installed with a 3D printed power flow filter cage.  Twin Air also has a completely new air box replacement housing, wash cover,  and cage in testing, it is configured similar to a KTM snap in filter and is vastly superior to the stock airbox.

Why are some of your posts going MIA? I end up being collateral damage as well. Lol

My experience with DT1 filters. Atleast for the previous generation.

We have 3 different design Silicone Hose kits that are in the works. Stock shape Radiator Hose Kit, Y Radiator Hose Kit that still uses the steel tube and a WORKS Y Hose Kit that eliminates the steel tube. It will use an aluminum fitting at the water pump very simulator to what we have made for YZF’s for many years.

Excellent news, sign me up for the works kit, when will it be available? Will the kit include or be set up for the previous gen outlet fitting on the head? I see the USA Kawasaki factory team has switched to the 2023 fitting.

Whoever designed the air filter needs to be kicked in the balls.

I noticed that team Kawasaki changed that too. Maybe the Works kit will go that route too. Funny part is I gave one of my aluminum Temperature sensor fits to Team Green at the Mini O’s after he mentioned moving where it was located.

Heres some pictures of the custom cut 2023 Acerbis skid plate. Its a pretty rough job, and mostly free hand with a dremel so not the prettiest sight. I don't use the linkage guard personally so I cut it to act as a spacer. Might put an access hole for the hole drain bolt as well. Also I cut around to keep the OEM water pump guard to.image-20240119183055-1

Anyone experience any detonation? Mine started after the bike got hot in the 3 motos I did, I had fresh 93 in the tank.

I also felt the the vibration Keefer was talking about, I'm hoping getting rid of the lock on grips will help.

Good new is the stock suspension is much better than the 22 I had and the bike handles so damn good.

Track tested this today ...

WOW- it's no joke a pipe alone is a big upgrade on Hp and rpm response -

i may go back to a 50 now  - as with stock pipe I wanted a 51 but now I might like the 50 better .

My rear end dyno - feels like 3-4hp and still very manageable but much more pulling power - much more. i had 2 other guys ride it and they never left 3/4 the whole track with ruts etc. 2nd was too peppy for their vet / skill status.

day 1 - I am very impressed - highly recommend the HGS.

No SR in 24. 23 SR has X-Trig clamps, PC full exhaust, head work, ECU mapping, different suspension settings are the important differences.

Detonation might be from winter blend fuel. I’d try some from a different station before I got too worried about it.

side note, how’s the motor compare to your old bikes? I’ve ridden both the ‘19+ KX and ‘18+ RMZ’s

Stop siphoning gas out of your mom’s Toyota Corolla for your bike and it will be fine.

The bIke has a few issues but it runs clean.

Long time reader first time poster. Just ticked over 5hrs on mine and experienced pretty bad detonation last ride. Temp was about 30°C so not extremely hot and riding deep sand. I run 98 Octane fuel and bike is stock except opened up airbox.

Other than that bike is awesome. Also have a 23 350sxf and can't decide which one I like more ha ha

I think I'm going to try and find some good fuel to mix with pump fuel. My 22 was detonating before it blew and I didn't know it.

I've only ridden it once at a small kinda hard packed track. I think the bike runs good and has good mapping. Power in 2nd gear feels similar to the old bike except it pulls further. Pulls clean in 3rd gear, but doesn't have any recovery, it will lug though. Next time I ride the baffles will be removed and I'll have my Jkop filter cage and holes drilled in the air box.

Every 450 I’ve ever had seemed to detonate once in a while under the right conditions when running straight pump gas.  I have a gas station not too far from me that sells 110 octane VP from the pump.  I have an old metal VP can that I take down and fill up.  I mix 1 gallon of race fuel to 2 gallons of 93 pump gas.  Since I started doing that, I’ve never had an issue.  The added benefit is that doing so reduces the ethanol content in the gas by 1/3rd, and that can’t be a bad thing.  Pump fuel is too hit or miss, and this is relatively cheap insurance.

Hi JkopMx, I bought one of your 3d printed air filter cages for my 24 KX450. What’s the chances of you making one that protrudes out a bit to fit the new Twin Air filter? (It has about an inch + air pocket.)

I've pondered it - as I have the twin air myself and have measured for that exact thing . No issues when we looked at it on the Dyno with the cover off so I don't believe it's an issue like it is with out a brace .

but i do believe the new twin air kit will be in here soon and that might make ours obsolete.

I'll post it in here if i do make that style .

I would be interested as well.

The stock type cage is fine, how it fits and seals, no issues other than skimpy stock filter, so not gonna jump on the Twin Air power flow kit when it comes out. The stock type Twin Air filters are great but that extra puffiness could use a cage that fits the volume.

This setting was great the first day, but after about 9 hours it need to be stiffer - we have the clickers all the way in and it is blowing through the stroke.  We have a fresh set of Showa suspension in over at REP getting heavier springs and updated valving.

The rider is 76KG with no gear - according to him, these forks are superior to the modified Technical Touch kit fork he is training with in Holland and Spain for the 24 450.   this Showa stuff has real potential to be an amazing fork when we figure it out.
