Hey everyone,
Did some searching and found a few different products that people are running nowadays.
What’s everyone’s favorite?
I’ve ran the protaper ones back in the day, but am open to anything better.
Some ones I’ve seen people talking about are Zero, Works Connection, etc.
pro taper twister
We have had really good luck with Motion Pro Titan Throttle tubes. Never had one break, plus unlike aluminum tubes, they don’t make the grip feel as firm.

Odi lock on grips. Get a new tube every time you change the grips
🤮🤮🤮🤮
Any lock-on grips are the most uncomfortable grips EVER.

I second this. Not a fan of aluminum tubes since they transfer a lot more vibration than these do.

just now put a new motion pro on my 06 KX250!
So for guys running aluminum tubes, do you think they transmit more vibration back into the hands? Its the only thing that keeps me from running one.
MP Titan or G2 is a safe bet. Very smooth action with the G2 on my Yz250
Agreed, have been running these for years and never broken one. Turn smooth as well.
G2 for me. They have different cams for them. Also have the Jimmy Twister which I believe JS7 used. Best flag handguards as well. Gary is a great guy.
ODI is garbage
By far the best. I got the only 02-07 cr available last yr. Pro taper & moose work but there a little funky. Polish the inside a little & lube it the twist is soo smooth. Plastic tubes suck & break.
Works Connection Elite. Have to trim your bar 1/2” on throttle side for the bearing mechanism, but it’s worth it.
ZRT hands down. Nothing against lock-ons and really love the ease of installing them but a ZRT is so damn smooth. I put some soft compound grips on and don't think vibration is an issue. I just grabbed my second throttle tube from ZRT for my new bike. Highly recommend.
G2 tubes have teflon rings around the inside, so there is no metal to metal contact and I notice no more vibration with those than a plastic one.
I have noticed I got more blisters with lock on grips than with glue on ones after a 2 hr. hare scramble.
I had the motion pro plastic tube, switched to a pro taper aluminum tube and haven't looked back. I don't notice any more vibration and I feel the throttle twist is smoother. I now have the same tube on both of my bikes.
Pit Row
Where’s the ZRT guys friend to answer this question?

I am lost on the ZRT hate. I get that someone said throttle body instead of tube in that thread but big deal. Yes, it is expensive but I am simply giving my opinion on the topic at hand. I am sure the Works Connection one is pretty damn good as well.
Motion pro Titan. The aluminum tubes are not a good mix with the soft sand I ride, tried WC and Pro taper and both got gritty super fast. Plastic tube is 1/4 of the maintenance.
Another vote for the world connection tube. I don’t really notice any additional vibration from it. It essentially rides on the end bearing, and has a polymer bushing as well. I do also run a softer grip
The owner of the company had his friend start the thread without disclosing he was friends with the owner of ZRT. Then the owner of ZRT shows up and gives his own product a good review without disclosing that he’s the owner. He gets called out and has a temper tantrum insulting anyone who doesn’t like his product.
Ahhh gotcha, fair enough.
Used something like this before and had to cut grip off to clean out throttle tube every time it got dirty. Good concept, but not practical.
I use a G2. It’s very nice. I don’t notice anymore vibration vs stock/plastic.
Works connection elite. Changeable cams so you can transfer it from bike to bike. I use it because I can get the tube to feel butter smooth
That was classic. Was hoping he’d stop in for round 2.
Just don't buy the ones the factory Husky 450 team uses, they won't open completely. Or the one Vince Friese uses, it is magnetically attracted to other bikes. Or RJ Hampshire's, it is attracted to soil. Be careful.
I run the ZRT on my 450 and my kids 250, and the G2 on his 125. Both are great, but there's nothing as smooth as the ZRT. In all fairness, nothing is going to feel as good on the 125 as a FI bike simply due to the mechanical pull in the carb. I'm happy with both the ZRT and the G2. There's also no noticeable vibration caused by either.
I personally despise lockon grips and the inherited slop from the ODI throttle tube. I'm a freak about attention to detail, and a sloppy throttle drives me insane.
