Notable Suzuki RM125 riders over the years.

There are a few riders not mentioned. Also, many industry riders should be on here. DC for example, and it would be cool to post a pic of Metzger, among others.

That was such a cool win for Danny, especially considering his brother passing not too long before that. You know that had to mean a lot to him.

I got to see Magoo ride this RM125 a few times in 81. One time at Riverfront Park MX it was super muddy and raining. He crashed in the first corner and got going dead last in a 8 lap race. He came from last to first. When he crossed the finish line he was completely covered in mud, no goggles. He yelled what place did I get. Everyone yelled first. That was the Magoo I remember. Even at a local race he gave 100%. 

Didn’t he race a Zook in 125…& maybe 250…& a Maico in 500…?

Gaston Rahier has to be in there too. 

A story from back in the day, from the mechanic of Rahier, they were both going for the title in 1980.(i think) and at the final round they were very close on points, and through practice and qualifying, they were pretty close too. 

Rahier was always the master of set up, and always got the most out of the bike, but Watanabe wasnt so good and always copied what Rahier did, must to the annoyance of the Belgian. 

Anyway in the final run up to the race, Rahier went back to a gearing set up that he used only briefly on the saturday, and caught them out, apparently the track was quite hilly and he made a change that gave him an advantage on the hills, and took the title ,the Watanabe crew didnt find out till afterwards.

I was watching Gary Bailey's Southwick '86 footage a couple weeks ago. Erik Kehoe sure made those RM125's sing. What held him back from winning a title? It was before my time but it sure looked like he had the speed

Not sure if anyone mentioned Jim Meenan, Greg Mayo and David Rudnicki on Cycle Design Suzuki's in the 1980' into the early '90's . In New England NESC. Meenan won so many they lost count. All top expert class riders.

Yes he was awesome.  86. 87. 88. He should of won a title one of those years.I think the Hondas were to good in the 80s.Barnett won for suzuki 80.81.82. Ward for Kaw in 84. Honda won in 83.85.86.87.88.89.

In Australia 82 it was Ray Vandenberg that was Champ on the 125,s.

I may be repeating myself, or others.

But, at the risk of repeating myself or others, a Father and Son, Harry and Stefan Everts, that both won World 125cc Championships on Suzuki 125s. And that's quite something :

I've never seen this. So awesome. Tim Ferry is a class act. I really hope his son has a great career.

So many great RM125 riders listed here. Even though he was before my time its pretty clear that Mark Barrnett was the best of them all. God i wish someone could get the Bomber on a Podcast
