Stream has been working real good. Can’t complain, worth the money. Budman and ping zingers get better and better as the night goes on.

Agreed.  I was worried earlier when the website broke, but overall good.  I wish we could pass and record Live, but the replays should be fine too

I believe Jared Lesher and Justin Bellrod will be there on two strokes. Also Devin Harriman, he showed some speed last year. I want to say I saw on Vital’s silly season page that Dominique Thury was doing AX? Sounds like Crockett Myers is going to give it a try as well. Chandler Baker did one round last year, going 4-DNF breaking his hand while on a stock Kawi. This year he’ll be on Husqvarnas but has returned to some familiar faces helping his program (EBR building the motor, back training at Reynard’s).

I’m always curious to see how the first few rounds go compared to the rest of the season. With it starting a month before supercross, there’s the potential for some smaller name supercross guys to show up and get in the mix, plus people who thought they’d come in and clean house, only to struggle and exit the series after one or two rounds.

Vital user dirtbikemike fielded a team since the beginning of time, but decided to take a break from it this year. I tried to put something similar together for some guys this year in the same spirit (help guys get an opportunity to make it affordable and provide some equipment, and split costs). The result being we’re going racing on Suzuki’s with Wyatt Reimer #11, Cody Groves #315, and Travis Smith #145. There may or may not be some JGR parts floating around on those RMZ’s, so I’m excited to see how they stack up.

Cody is character Forsure. Good luck this year

Wish they would have had some better explanations for the racing formats (how many laps each race is, how many qualify etc.) Some other normal audio hiccups for the first round, but super stoked on it so far.

Valid point, I had a friend ask me about the format last night as well.
-32 riders into the night show

-4 heat races (so everyone has a front row start and a shot at the start), top two advance to main.

-2 Semi’s and 2 LCQ’s, only winner advances from each.

-2 main events with 12 racers, gate pick is inverted for the second main. Points and purse money are paid per main.

-1 “B main” for guys who didn’t qualify to get some TV time. It pays for the top 4, last year top four also earned points, I don’t know about this year.

Last year they had fans voting for the head to head races, and fans could sponsor racers directly from the website. I’m not sure if the sponsoring thing is still around or if I just missed it yesterday. It did look like they changed the head to head to being based on top 3 in qualifying times, which is for the better in my opinion. Last year there were some rounds where guys were basically just rolling around goon riding and collecting some easy cash for either having enough followers vote or paying a click farm overseas $5.

I found all that in the rule book and like the format overall.  What are the details for the 2 stroke challenge?  I could not find any details on that and the main event for that appeared to be a Semi?

2 Stroke race was a stand-alone class with it's own $10,000 purse.  They are doing one more at Daytona on March 1 this  year.

Nice payday for the few guys that busted out the 2 strokes.

Here is all the info: https://arenacrossusa.com/2strokebrawl/

Sorry for the steaming hiccups for round 1 guys.  Seems to be fixed! No issues tonight for round 2.

Hope you guys are enjoying the show. Feel free to give me your input on how we can make a better product that you’d like to watch.

How long before replays are available?  I was not able to watch live last night.

I watched it on MavTV. Both nights. I thought it was cool. The top 4-5 were impressive. Breece and Peters especially.

They should get him to call the LCQs in SX.

Sure…. Spend millions producing it and then just “put it up free”

Hopefully your viewer sign up can cover those costs. From the outside it seems like a short-sighted approach to overlook the value YouTube could bring to your sport.

$40 for the season is cheap entertainment.  Do you give up free hours to your boss, or are you short sighted in the value of kissing up and expect a paycheck every payday?  These guys are barely out of the gate and you are complaining you can't watch free on YouTube.

Not complaining, I don’t follow arenacross at all but I sign up for supercross religiously without a complaint. Perhaps I would if it was on YouTube and I got to follow riders, but to your point James, I’m not signing up for something I don’t follow to subsidize paychecks. And I do hope the existing viewership will be enough to cover those costs.

So is Arenacross still Friday-Saturday night? I’m gonna hit the Madison up this weekend but am kind of confused if it’s both night.

Post a reply to: Arenacross opener.
