Family stealing stuff at Mini’Os

Ive been seeing some stuff on socials about stolen stuff at Mini’os. Unfortunately that isn’t anything new at these big nationals. Today i came across a Tiktok saying that a family stole multiple bikes and disassembled them at the track this week. Comments were throwing around numbers but supposedly the name of the guy is Drew Scott Johnson and has been known to do sketchy things with his kid at the races. Crazy.

link to the Tiktok is https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8fUgwq9/

Theft in my opinion is the worst crime. A person works to pay for his stuff only to have scumbags steal it. I hope some sorts this thief out properly

There are worse crimes....rape, pedos, etc.

That's not to say thievery isn't bad...it's reached epidemic levels in this country.   Partly due to near zero consequences for it anymore.

As I always say in these threads....start cutting off hands and it'll come to a very quick end.

He was arrested, he was stealing stuff at Ponca too. Also he was faking his son's birth certificate to race a younger age group. Shitty dude.

Yes, rape, murder, pedos for sure are worse.

Theft is just a damn pain. I hate it. I had my house cleaned out a few years back. It sucks.

To bad they didn’t lock his ass up in Oklahoma.  That state has been known to be tough on crime.

I feel for the kid. Likely never race again. After a quick Google search it looks like he is still on PWs. Hopefully they throw the book at this guy.

He’s from my area. A real piece of work. I had a bike stolen in Aug so this hits home. I feel bad for the people that lost their stuff.

Unfortunately the kid will end up just like his dad. Hope I’m wrong and he can find a way to make good. His dad’s a big time loser.

I agree with the above…cutting off hands would stop this shit quick.

Sunshine state ain’t too lenient

Never mind, Looking at the arrest record now they went pretty easy on him with theft less than 5k. I’m reading comments saying this dude picked off multiple surrons just on the last night of the event.

Years ago in Ohio at the CRA races we had a family that stole from other racers . Funny thing the kid was damn fast sponsored by answer finished in the top 5 at LLs. This was around 1997-98.

Physically mutilating a human over theft of material does not make any sense.  A human body doesn’t have a net worth.  Sure there should be consequences that are monetary or losing property or something to that degree, but no.  This is deranged

I had 3 bikes stolen in 2021, so I have perspective as a victim of theft.  Do I wish I could get my bikes back and a settlement on top of that? Yes.  Do I want the people who did it to have their hands cut off? Fuck no.  That’s disgusting to value property higher than human life, and likely the train of thought that’s led us to a place where people steal the way they do.

Let's not get off track here - fuck this guy.

Wonder how much of this is fueled by the amateur MX fever (living beyond your means). It's truly a disease for some families.

I value my morning dump more than the lives of thieves, rapists, pedos, and murderers. If we brought back public executions in town square, you’d have a very polite society. Instead we’ve turned soft and worry about the perpetrators feelings instead of getting retribution for the victims.

100% What would drive a dad to forge a birth certificate just so his 8 yr old could beat up on 4-6 year olds??? Then on top of that to STEAL from other kids to make that happen...fuk that guy

I have two boys that race and we take our losses and our wins in the same manner...fair and square...

it's the same mentality that causes the C class to be full of the fastest local guys you can find...the race to the bottom for that trophy from Tennessee...like it matters...

ride with your kids, teach them to love the sport...make memories...that's winning...

When I was in school we had a guy named Isaiah Whiting. He would steal bicycles at the elementary school on a daily basis. Police never did much. When he was in high school he cracked a kid in the head with a baseball bat  and went to prison for murder. A little deterrent might have saved a life, but doing nothing ended one.

I have the victim perspective as well, I had 2 OGIO 9800’s with gear stolen (7500$ worth) recently while in Baja.  There wasn’t anything in those bags worth a persons hands.  But anyone who steals from another for monetary gain is a piece of shit in my book and needs to be flushed as such.

I guess I'm not sure exactly, but maybe something in the USA where we don't do unconstitutional gorilla/barbarism things. We used to be better than that.

Rong.

Seems the owner of the hands is the one who would make the decision if the material worth would be greater the the value of thier hands, thats why its called a deterrent. Seems a lot of horrible crimes are commited and the deterrent of a nice cell and 3 squares is not enough of a deterrent. Not sure what the penalty should be, but crimes sure seem to out pace the punishment.

This man gets it....  ^^^^^    Deterrent is the key word here.      Based on some of the responses in this thread, you can see why criminals are so emboldened these days.

Realistically, you start with  just the tip of a finger.  Repeat offender, the whole finger goes.   They steal again...a couple more fingers.

If it continues, then the hand.     Then the other hand.     You can't really steal anymore with no hands.

You can easily have the society you want, just move to Iran or Nigeria or someplace like that. It's always the really nice places with really smart people that do that kind of thing, so you'll definitely love it there. Your utopia awaits!

At the risk of sounding like a barbarian, I don't value anyone's life, and don't expect anyone to value mine except myself.  There are 8 billion people on this planet, and it costs literally nothing to make a human.  We are one of the most easily expendable and replaceable resources on the planet.
