Yeah, yeah…I know that most y’all don’t care about “off road” but….Taddy is gonna race the Stark in SuperEnduro starting this weekend.
Will be super interesting to see how it goes without a clutch.
Dieter Rudolf already put the Varg on super Enduro podium in Austria championship
but that's great to see the Varg competing in a FIM sanctioned World championship with a world class rider!
I personally think the instant torque will produce too much wheel spin to be super effective for super enduro/EnduroX. But then again, taddy is superhuman so he just may make it work. Either way it’ll be fun to watch.
I would think that Taddy is still able to get pretty good contracts / remuneration from manufacturers, so I guess Stark are actually contracting / paying him.
Good to see if that's the case. We want involvement with the sport from new companies by supporting riders /teams.
This will be interesting to see. Even if he's an 'old man' of the sport (and I mean absolutely No disrespect by that) he's still Highly competitive. Taddy's an All Time Great!
I haven't ridden the Varg, so I don't know what the throttle response feels like...
If he has access to some help from the Stark people, they could easily tune the power delivery to his preferences.
The beauty of an electric drive system is that it can be tuned to nearly any power curve and throttle input curve imaginable.
It's interesting to see these bikes slowly make their way into racing.

There are so many ways to fine tune feeling of electric motor power if you have access to speed controller software. Even RC cars now have different options to fine tune that my kid can run same car with modified motor but power tamed down by couple clicks in mobile app. Im sure Stark is working hard with these options for now enduro, mx and sx as well.
I don't think they are working hard on that. I think it's already in their phone/controller which rests on the handlebars of each and every new unit shipped. Varg guys, please correct me if I'm wrong.
That's wild! I was wondering where he was going after the gasgas separation announcement. Taddy is a legend on a bike and a very nice human, very interested to see him on the Stark.
The e bikes are much better through the rocks. I am a dealer for the 132 Mecatecno Dragonfly trials bike. The stability over loose rocks is vastly superior to gas powered trials bikes.
Yes they have app and phone on bike but I think there are not much options yet to set for normal customer in interface. Havent got bike yet but I think there are just options for HP adjustment and engine braking but not to fine tune throttle. Correct me if they have updated more fine tuning.
Here are just basic adjustments for RC car speed controller.
Left hand rear brake may be able to load in a way to maintain traction, or provide a burst of power when released?
just thinking
don’t exactly know how intense they are on the clutch in super enduro
The Stark could potentially be a huge advantage in SuperEnduro just from the ability to program the traction control and throttle profile, not to mention the instant torque.
100% correct. The power platform is adjustable one hp at a time. Between your power settings and regenerating braking, you should be able to find a setting you like. They are torque monsters and the power rolls on super smooth. Like any other bike change, you will still have to adapt and that takes time.
I stand corrected. You are right about there not being a throttle adjustment. However, there are these four adjustments, according to the video below: power curve, engine braking, virtual flywheel effect, and traction control. I bet that's enough to mimic a throttle controller.

Unfortunately traction control and virtual flywheel effect have not been implemented (yet).
For now you get to set power and regen/engine braking.
One rider in France Supermoto was switching maps on the fly to adjust power and engine braking between the road and dirt sections of the track which sounds really cool. However he did not need it anymore after he got more used to the bike. Still that's a great possibility and hopefully they will soon have traction control there as well.
Taddy is said to be factory rider as well as a test rider so maybe he will help Stark develop this kind of stuff and he will probably have early access to more than just the regular customers.
I'm super interested to see how the Varg works on a Superenduro track, but Taddy's not that competitive nowadays so I'm not sure it'll provide much of an answer.
They've had an e-moto class at TKO the last few years and those guys didn't look like they much of an issue with the torque and wheelspin. But I can't help thinking that a clutch provides better overall control. We'll see.
Slightly off-topic….
we have foreign language students stay with us on occasion.
earlier this year we had a lad come and stay and during the week over dinner were talking about stuff, getting to know each other and he was asking me about MX, I asked him if he knows much about MX?? He said, “not much, but I know about enduro- my Friend Taddy races…”
sure enough, Taddy Blazusiak! His uncle was Taddy’s mechanic when he was at KTM.
i might be wrong on this, could’ve been Oscar??
Doesn't look like this is going to happen. There's an issue with FIM rules on racing e-bikes indoors so someone's screwed up.

Seems he is riding
Pit Row
Ok he's riding but is he allowed to race?
I sure hope so, the track is fast so would suit Taddy.
Looks like a no FIM scandal in Lievin: E-bikes banned in SuperEnduro (speedweek.com)
The established manufacturers are totally rattled by the Stark.
The more tricks they pull, the better Stark looks.
FIM should have seen this coming - established riders wanting to race on e-bikes. They should have anticipated it and changed the rules. They should embrace e-bikes and stop seeing them as some alien species.
Not a good look for the sport to authorize them to race then withdraw their authorization a few hours before the start of the competition.
I guess money talks but they won't be able to prevent the Stark from racing for too long, they are just delaying their inevitable debut in FIM world championship.
Sounds like it was other manufacturer who protested.
They have just been able to do a commercial, what a shame.
Still pretty cool to see a Varg with a headlight
If the other manufactures are the ones that protested the bike, i'm sure they will let him race after watching him do hot laps on the bike. He looked horrible on the bike. His best lap on the track he ate shit all by himself. The FIM did him a favour.
You're not wrong. Must have been embarrassing for the Stark guy being interviewed in the booth while Taddy was crashing his brains out on the demo lap.
What you say about the wheel spin is the same as the stark on sx whoops.... an ice bike is definitely more planted from when I've seen it in direct comparison at the AX fest in the uk, back in September. They just look very 'Loose' when hitting things that aren't a jump with a good transition.
If I remember at the last e-explorer World Cup race they rode it at 25% as it was too much at anything else... id think enduro x it will be something similar to make it as ridable as possible
