stumbled on this youtube video, and I had zero recollection of Chicken on a PC Kawi. I also don't remember them talking about it on the whiskey throttle show (maybe I need to go back and listen), but this seems really odd.
Moved to 250s in 91 then dropped back down to 125s for a few races and 250 for a few races in 98. Was it a fill-in ride, was he PC on 250s also, and how the heck was he allowed to drop-down.
Came back from japan
He tells the story about it on his episode of The Whiskey Throttle show. IIRC before he got the call from Mitch to ride the 125 he was on a big bodybuilding/steroid kick, and he said he was way too heavy at first to ride the 125 competitively. It’s a great listen, especially the story of him getting through the border with all kinds of steroids stuffed in every pocket he had.
Saw him break his femur at Millville mid 90's on a KX500 gnarly swap in the sand woops
RC also dropped down to the 125's to help Brown and get the 125 moto wins record (I believe).

Really unnecessary pass but hey, Jeff was the king at doing that so live by the sword, die by the sword I guess.
He was long over his prime when he rode for PC as a fill in. The guy just likes to ride.
Yeah I know he dropped down for the one race, but that was MX where there is no pointing out rule
check out my boat dude
One of the coolest bikes every built was Chicken's DMC KX125.....
I was standing Right there at the fence by the whoops when that happened.
I was a big Matiasevich fan. He, and several other riders raced hard & gave absolutely no quarter! Some of the people who wail & moan over Barcia, Friese & some others they call “dirty riders” would have lost their minds at how guys like Chicken, Bradshaw & RJ rode!
The roar of 40 500cc 2 strokes when the gate dropped still gives me shivers!
I wish this is something I would have experienced….epic display of power and strength and the top riders that could actually ride a 500 to its full potential.
Was a great era guys like Ward, Stanton, Bayle, Lechien, Bradshaw, and on and on great riders making it look easy on one of the most challenging tracks ever, lots of guys didn't finish because of the heat and humidity and the 45 minute motos. It was badass.
I agree with this. I was following the action just didn't have the opportunity at that stage in my life to watch live.
To add to your list: Glover, Bailey, Kiedrowski, LaRocco...
Perhaps an unpopular opinion but it was kinda cool when the 500 nationals started it sure mixed up things in the 125 class with all the Suzuki riders dropping down from the 250 class.
