C'mon fellas...anyone with eyes can see Deegan is the real deal.  He is an elite talent.

But, there is no denying the Capt America bullshit they played up all summer.

Sadly, when we needed him it was..."If Sexton ain't going...neither am I".  Basically...if we can't win...I'm out.

I've said it before...what he does is ENTIRELY his business...how I feel about it is MINE.

Please point me to where Deegan said that...many trolls on here said that but not Deegan...

The problem is when people make shit up like that it doesn’t take long before vitards take it as fact….even when the truth is right in front of them….and they still refuse to believe the facts…

I know.  I was agreeing with you in case it came across wrong.  I never heard Deegan say any of this.

However, I think Star could have posted these details after the deadline passed explaining they would have committed if a team had been chosen within the timeframe they needed to plan effectively.  The lack of PR in moto is silly sometimes.  I am sure Bobby could give two shits, but he should

It’s funny how people say Roger is too biased towards KTM….it’s like we can’t remember a whole year ago when it was Japanese bikes only.  Listen…I think it’s past time for Roger on MXdN…but I always felt he supported the best riders being on the team, if they would step up, over brand.  It’s just KTM is more willing than the Japanese brands to support MXdN…especially in Europe.  Big diff….put the majority of the blame where it belongs….on the teams.  If they have hard feelings towards Roger then maybe they should grow the fuck up….it’s not middle school. …as for Deegan…if he had really wanted to go it would have happened.

I don't remember hearing that Star wouldn't go until after Matthes mentioned on his show that Deegan didn't want to represent. That's not a good look after his "put the American up front," comments.

I think Star is just providing cover. They would've gone.

I'm a lifelong motocross fan. Used to be a decent local racer. This is a story that I wanted to comment on because I had an opinion.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not a hater. The kid is an elite talent, but not immune from criticism.

KTM steps up when all the other teams tuck tail and stay home. Buyers should remember that when it comes time to speak with their wallets. And your last sentence is correct, no matter how hard Don brings up alternative facts to make it seem crazy

Des nations isn’t anything to America. Congrats to France they raced amazing. After racing the US series our riders deserve their break. Without contest, the American supercross / motorcross series is the pinnacle of the sport. If one disagrees I would like to see any rider from gp etc. compete in every round. On top of that covering their own expenses for the race in some fashion just doesn’t make sense. If we sent our a team y’all would have gotten beat. So please stop or sign up for supercross / motorcross this year. 2000 mx nations. See ya June 6th if you disagree

I think it’s not just KTM but Red Bull are up for MXDN and don’t think ‘just locally’ - where Monster US is separate from Euro Monster and it’s their budget being used.  Surely a couple of emails would sorted the logistics out.

but hey what do I know 🤷‍♂️

And they chose not to send somebody. Like in previous years. Other riders turned it down.  Simple.

I think most of the animosity stems from Deegan landing the 360 clean before Pastrana in 03

but hey what do I know 🤷‍♂️

See, here’s the problem, people/you think that because they race, there’s an endless budget, there’s not. They tell their sponsors how much they need, and the sponsors tries to get that to them.

Star had 2 extra races, 3 weeks ago of extra testing, and hired another rider that wasn’t in the original budget. That in my guess is an additional 150-200k all in.

It cost a rumored 35k for a team to send a bike and support crew for that bike and rider, they were going to send two riders. That’s an extra 70k out of their already high budget. They asked for 60k, they didn’t get a response, so they didn’t go.

It’s funny, literally every other country’s governing body helps with the budget, the AMA doesn’t, and people want to shit all over guys because they don’t want to spend the money to go.

But, there is no denying the Capt America bullshit they played up all summer.

Sadly, when we needed him it was..."If Sexton ain't going...neither am I".  Basically...if we can't win...I'm out.

You are correct.  I didn't see or hear Brian or Haiden say exactly why they couldn't race the MXoN.

I spent the summer watching Chase and Deegan...getting really excited about our MXoN prospects.  Needless to say...I was disappointed with how things played out.

I don't "hate" Deegan.  I don't hate anyone.  In the future, I'll try to refrain from including "unfounded or regurgitated" statements I read here but if I don't know the truth...I can make up a pretty good lie.Silly

Obviously there are lots of inter-team politics involved here.   Team USA has become very KTM-brand centric, most would likely say due to Roger's position as Team Manager.  I believe it's been said that Kawi essentially refuses to participate based on the fact that it requires coordination, cooperation, and possibly some knee bending to the KTM group.  Were there not reports from a few years ago that the Kawi guys were pissed that when they went over (I believe with Tomac) that there was very little, if not strained, actual "team work" going on between them and Roger or the rest of "team USA"?  All that being said, my guess is that Star/Bobby don't want to be in a position of being jerked around by KTM-group as they were dragging finalizing the rider list and likely made a hard deadline - "you tell us by this date or we are out".  As was said in the video, there are a lot of logistical considerations and no one wants to be doing all of that at the last minute.

How many KTM umbrella bikes were on the team last year?

Only 1 person in this thread (nrosso391) alluded to the right question… Who was Star Racing waiting for to clarify terms before time ran out?

1. AMA

2. YAMAHA Corporate

3. Who else?

I'm positive that all-American Bobby Regan's Star Racing team, and ego-centric, click-driven, Team Deegan would have went. It sort of baffled me why Brian would have missed MXdN.

The BS in the video… "I needed to take time off to recover and rest." Well contrast that from a 17 year old, with the rest of the field of older AMA and GP athletes that raced all year and still did the MXdN.

Thank you. That's what I was really wondering. They make it so vague in telling the story. Someone said "NO" and all Deegan said is, "I didn't say no, I was waiting for a callback from the team." Someone didn't return a phone call to Bobby on the deadline, and Bobby's not going to waste time waiting. Yamaha, AMA, or MXON Team USA director...someone dropped the ball.

I don't have to look any further than your last post.

Your supporting the Star was too broke to send a rider narrative.

You think maybe the location in the USA reduced the logistical issues and played into people's decision making and willingness to put egos aside?

KTM steps up when all the other teams tuck tail and stay home. Buyers should remember that when it comes time to speak with their wallets. And your last sentence is correct, no matter how hard Don brings up alternative facts to make it seem crazy

I think it’s not just KTM but Red Bull are up for MXDN and don’t think ‘just locally’ - where Monster US is separate from Euro Monster and it’s their budget being used.  Surely a couple of emails would sorted the logistics out.

but hey what do I know 🤷‍♂️

Yeah blows my mind that Monster doesn’t want the US based teams that they spend a boat load of money on displayed on the world stage. Especially for a race they sponsor, think they would want bragging rights over Red Bull

Must be a tough job defending every negative post about the kid and towing the narrative.

I have no dog in this fight, I’m Switzerland with him, I don’t care either way. I just don’t understand the hate.

Jlaw was the biggest punk ass kid when he was 17-18, and Vital couldn’t gobble his sack enough. This kid come along with a similar attitude, and because he has a wealthy dad, they hate him.

I don't have to look any further than your last post.

Your supporting the Star was too broke to send a rider narrative.

I never said they were broke, I said they didn’t want to spend the money.

Don't worry about it PB. Deegan never said any of the crap he is pushing either. He tries to manipulate folks that way.

Claiming Star would not support the event regardless of rider/demands is not exactly something I would call fact
