Should be in this part of the season.

Now that mxon is over and its officially the off season isnt it that much more obvious how much sense it makes to put the wsx series in this part of the year? I know I’m not the only one who would love to have some racing to watch right now. Thankfully we do have 2 more wsx rounds coming up soon. Back when the other races happened we had both the AMA series and the MXGP series to watch, so they were competing for eyeballs against established series. Right now all the other racing has completely ended so if they were running a wsx race this weekend theyd be the only game in town. Now that WSX exists and is moving to this part of the year I feel this lull in racing even more knowing that they could have been racing right now.

People that say yea but thats too much racing for riders, for some I’m sure it will be. Weve always had riders though that go off in the off season and race paris, geneva, aus x, and any other number of off season races. From the end of MXON to Anaheim 1 there are 12 weekends open that could hold races, a 6 round series wouldnt be too bad giving them a 6 week off season. It could be done any number of ways, you could give 2 weeks off after MXON and then 4 weeks off after the last race before Anaheim 1.

Something like that wouldnt be too bad and for Euros who dont race AMA sx theyd get even more time off. I think getting euros to race wsx is going to be one of the biggest keys to it succeeding, because they dont have to race sx in the US. MXGP-WSX would be the equivalent of the AMA SX-MX season. This is another reason why the series should be in this time period so it doesnt clash with MXGP. Allowing euros to race WSX along with SX only US riders like Roczen or Webb would make for a legit series. The sport is already able to have two competing MX series which are both stacked with talent and great to watch I think its possible to have the same in sx. Cant wait to see how it all plays out.

Say goodbye to the last 2 wsx races.

With the exception of a few riders - it seems like B level pros.  Also seems like the money drying up and it wont last much longer.  Still will be fun to watch if they get to run the next two races though.

Let's see if we even get to see the last two rounds first. I'll believe it when I see it with my own eyes. I'm not even mad about the fact that the rounds didn't happen, I'm mad about the non existent communication towards the fans that planned their trips/vacations for certain races.

I agree with the time of year and it should have been that from the beginning.   Arenacross needs to be this time of year with a decent TV package and it would be perfect.  WSX is a B series with weal tracks and poor promotion.  It just needs to go away.

No. We are racing. If it was AMA MX or SX I'd take my TV to the track and watch there. This crap? No.

I definitely don't want to see any of the sx/mx heavy hitters racing. They've raced enough and need a break. If the lower tier guys wanna have at it go for it

this so called "series" was formed in retaliation for the fim being fired from the real World Championship Supercross series.  I wouldn't watch it if you paid me.

Honestly if there was racing year round I'd probably lose interest a bit.  That gap to SX gets my interest brewing again. I find myself not watching all the outdoors just because I get a bit burned out.

I watch every race, and I have to agree, but more so for the riders.  They need an offseason.

DC in this week’s Racerhead:

“As I told Adam Bailey of World Supercross when we spoke before the trip, I can’t imagine how big it’s going to be for Australia when the Lawrence brothers come home for one those rounds and the home fans get to see what’s become of them.”

I sure hope WSX sticks around long enough for this to happen.

Zero chance I would.   It's a ridiculous circus show....glorified arenacross.

As for the timing....sorry folks,  the riders need some down time.   I can't imagine running 17 SX, 11 MX and 3 SMX races and what that does to these guys.

Thats the thing though its not great for AMA riders who do the full outdoors and supercross season, but for riders like Kenny and Webb who want to do sx only it works out for them and for the Euros who only race MXGP they dont have as harsh of a schedule. Plus youve had riders doing up to 4 off season races maybe even more with Monster cup already, a 6 round wsx basically takes all those extra races and just puts it under one series.

In my opinion the long term strategy for WSX should be trying to get MXGP riders to race the series. It makes much more sense for them who only race 1 series to race WSX vs US riders who race two.. now 3 series with smx.

With that many races, there's no risk WSX will burn you out.

Webb does not want to do SX only and Roczen went for the money....I wonder if he will still get that cash?  The US Teams do not want to do WSX and it serves them no value to have rider racing US SX and then waiting months for them to join races around the world that are a sideshow anyway

The German round was supposed to be yesterday.  I'm not sure who invested in this, venture, but my guess is that they lost money on their return.

The German round was scheduled back before all of the changes in investors, schedule, CEO..etc. happened. Its been known for a while now that they werent doing that round and are only doing 2 more rounds this year and they are next month in Abu Dhabi and Australia. Its right there first thing on the website. I can understand people that arent paying super close attention would think theyre still missing rounds, but this was cleared up a few months ago. They did a few interviews and released statements after they got the new owners/investers about what the plan of attack is moving fwd.

This is the schedule theyre going with to close out this year and then next year the series is planned to take place in the off season like it should have been all along.

A 4 round optional series would be perfect. It could take place in November for 4 weekends in a row. Time off for some MXGP guys and SMX guys and then another 5 weeks off before US supercross. If they were smart, they’d just partner with the Bercy promoters and then find 3 other rounds.

Pretty wild having a 4 month gap followed by a 3 week gap in a 3 round championship.

* I know all the rounds in between mysteriously disappeared

Honestly though. After the same uncertainty for 2 years in a row, failing to get a stable schedule or investors. Why would any team be wasting their time, money and resources on this series? No, Seriously. RD1 was on July 1...that was 3.5 months ago. Now its NOV for the last 2 rounds making it over 4 months time wasted between rounds after all the proposed rounds died.. Who would ever want to have their rider waiting around that long not showing off their riding talent or sponsors? I can't believe Roczen still wants to be involved in this joke of a series.

But for how much longer? I don't see anyway that they can continue their current pay structure moving forward as a 4-6 race fall series....I think after the series ends in Aus for them to survive you will see sweeping changes to the team structure and payout moving forward.

Yea its definitely possible. Either way I’m rooting for it to succeed because I think competition is good and if they can get more international fans interested in huge countries like indonesia, india..etc that could add a massive fan base and talent pool.
