Looks like they fixed that awful airbox/filter setup. Hopefully it ends up being an improvement.

2024 spec

2023 spec

I just ran across these, first time I have seen the actual detailed specs.  Gained a bit of weight and some geometry changes.  Really interested to ride this beast and compare to the SR.

this has to be one of the most stunning bikes ever made.

it doesn’t nearly pop as much with the modern graphics. and it’s not because of the throw back part, it’s the decal size and placement that allows you to visually appreciate the contours of this bike. that gets lost a bit on the primary offering.

the above photo is, well, as good as it can get.

Man that is one of the slickest air filter designs I've seen.

Gaining 5 lbs!? Love my 2021 KX450, but I may be jumping to Yami.

I'm curious how they'll keep tension on it to keep it sealed to the airbox but I agree, it looks pretty slick. Gas Gas tried something like that when they were designing their 2012 model and ended up scrapping the idea.

That cassette airbox will be very interesting to see how it plays out. Bet there will be many people getting dirt the air boot. I personally love the design, last one I had with a set up similar was the 13 Husqvarna TC449. This Kawi is really nice.

I have a feeling the way they chopped up the footage it may not be a sliding system, or as simple as they're trying to say. maybe it hooked in the back of the air box (throttle side?) then compresses down and is clipped. Either way it seems like much less of a hassle than last years.

Five pounds is a lot. Where did it gain so much weight? Just with the exhaust alone I thought it might weigh less. Almost 250 pounds with fuel and fluids?! Jeez.

Guessing the components for the Wi-Fi tuning and handlebar map buttons?

My last 3 450's were Kawis, but the weight gain here is disappointing to me. The KTMs were so light they could afford to gain the extra few lbs they did. Yami dropped 5 lbs with their new bike and now Kawi gains 5 lbs even w the new frame, smaller rear rotor, more centralized pipe, etc.? Not to mention the MSRP is several hundred dollars more than the Yami.

Rake/trail change caught my attention. FWIW Honda is 27.1/4.5

Yeah it's definitely disappointing. It should have lost weight with that kind of price hike. Makes me stoked I grabbed a leftover 23 for a killer deal. It doesn't feel heavy at all. Weighs the same as my Honda did and my Honda didn't have e-start

How a bike feels in motion > what the scale says, went from KTM to Honda which was significantly heavier, yet a much nimbler bike.

My local dealer says they are expecting one in the next couple days. I went ahead and put a deposit down.

That will be one of the first bikes in.

The large shipment won’t be here till middle of October.

Weight + Height is a bummer. 5lbs is a lot

I'm willing to bet the extra 5 pounds won't be noticed while riding. I don't think Kawasaki is going to take a step backwards on how this new platform feels/performs.

Weight, like power, on paper doesn't always translate to how a motorcycle feels and performs.

Not that tight of a battle. Smaller tank and heavier wet than Zook.

The KX is heavier on the spec sheet, and the RMZ comes with a PC pipe that drops a few more pounds. But like others have said, we ride on a track (where an obtainable RMZ build just beat most factory race efforts at the top level), not a spec sheet.

I would bet the farm on any of the races I’ve ever been in, if my bike would have been 5lbs lighter  my finish would not have changed
