So easy to forget English is his second language. Fun to see him speak in his native tongue

If you understand German it's so weird to listen to him speak German. Sometimes he forgets German words and just uses the English term Grinning

I can almost understand what he's saying, but he's speaking too quickly. I don't speak German very well, but I did take one semester in college and my family has German heritage. That language has a familiarity and a homecoming to it. Little phrases pop out, like when he says "for me," or "the people." Man, I should take some more lessons.

I remember the first time I spoke to him at gatorback probably in the mid 2000s and his English was not great. Crazy to see how he speaks perfect English without an accent now. Dude sounds like he was born and raised in USA.

My family is from Ukraine originally and I remember my grandmother talking to some relatives from Ukraine and my mother had to keep reminding her to not use English words, She didn't even realize she was doing it,

We definitely use a lot of anglicisms in our language either way these days. Can also still immediately hear his east german dialect, that's for sure. Laughing

my family is originally from Poland. It was funny growing up, the Polish language always came out when they were talking about something scandalous and didn’t want us kids to know about it 😁

Ha ha, yes - except I could usually understand it enough to know what they were talking about,

Very common for people that have moved to a different country...  if you don't use it (all the time) you lose it, even if it's your mother tongue.

It would be much easier if he slowed down a bit but I an understand most of what he's saying but, haven't conversed in German in so many years, no chance of finding the words to have a German conversation with him.

Key take aways:

Him being able to run whatever parts he needs on his bike (specially different suspensions) which wasn't possible before on any team. He basically said "If I wanted a horn on my bike, they would install it for me".

Overall being more healthy and fit in general, which results into having more fun than ever right now.

Him not feeling healthy and confident was one of the main reasons he didn't attend the MXON over the last years apparently.

Plus this years WSX rounds not happening allowing him to participate at the MXON even though they got their second kid just now.

It’s amazing how a lot of these guys speak more than two languages. Meanwhile my Spanish sucks, I can’t even think about learning another language.
