Less than the IRS
If I was Jett, it would be $200k. Show the mechanics how appreciated they are. Their salaries do not compare to the amount of work they do
IRS had a nice payday. Hopefully he hooks up his mechanic! Guys work a lot of hours
The tax man takes half?

I would imagine that the Lawrence boys is good with bonuses since they know how it is to struggle with money. Pretty sure that Dazz has tought the boys to treat their staff well.
37% to the feds, 13% to California or does Jett get a break as a Florida resident? Didn't the mechanics used to get 10% of winnings? Would a bonus be based on the gross or after taxes? Does Honda bonus the mechanics or is it on the rider? The mechanics are employees of the factories, right? Interesting question.
You realize he’s clearing $500-600k after tax? And has an entourage to pay? Mechanic may get $30k if he’s generous.
id say he'd give some to hunter who had to sit out
Yes, at the income Jett makes, about half.
It depends on what state you live in.
Federal income tax.
State income tax.
Medicare, and double that if you're a contractor, not employee.
Social Security to a certain amount, and double that if you're a contractor, not employee.
Entertainers/athletes gets paid where they perform though right?

Jock Tax
The Jock Tax is applied to non-state residents making money while playing in another state. It implies that a sportsperson from the visiting team must pay to every state they travel to perform.
The concept started in 1991 when California taxed Michael Jordan and his team members while opposing the Lakers in Los Angeles. It started the trend of making it a staple to get the states' share of tax for an athlete's paycheck while in that state.
An NFL performer is paid weekly and must travel for the away games. The away games will cost them another percentage of income to that state.
Wahington, Florida, Nevada, Texas, and Tennessee are exceptions for the jock tax.
For example, when Patrick Mahomes travels to play against the San Francisco 49ers, he will pay 13.3% of his weekly earning to the State of California. He will also pay Kansas State and IRS.
The Quarterback needs to file various federal returns to claim credit for tax amounts paid to different states.
I'm hoping they take care of those that take care of them. They seem like that kinda people. But...I've been wrong before.
It’s pretty easy to give away another guy’s money theoretically…..
Bingo
?
Is the SMX prize a $1,000,000 lump sum?
Or is it an annuity for 20 years at $50k per year.
I believe the Monster Energy Cup and US Open in Vegas offered both options...
Been awhile but I think Marvin Musquin took the lump sum when he won while RV2 took the annuity for his win.
i’m sure the money goes into a LLC of some sort. No way he pays personal income tax on that.
F#@king greedy IRS needs that money so that the government can mail out more free crap to lazy people. sad.
If it’s lump sum vs annuity, then the lump sum would be significantly less. Just like the big lotteries, the lump sum is likely somewhere between 40-60% of the ‘listed’ large amount. So if it’s a $1M purse, the lump sum would likely be between $400K-$600K.
