Will Jett's dominance carry over into 2024 Supercross?

I knew Jett was going to be tough to beat outdoors but will his dominance carry over into Supercross?  It's hard to bet against him, but 450 Supercross is a bit different. Predictions for 2024?

Not making the same mistake as the outdoor predictions.. i think he wins a fair few races this season. few bar bangs that put him into the dirt from other riders roughing him up. but Jett takes the title.

I see Hunter being in the title hunt by the end of the year too.

I’m not betting against him after this outdoor season. The dudes starts are phenomenal, he doesn’t seem to ride over his head, mature for his age… I think he’ll do just fine

I'm just here for the magoofan comments lol

In all seriousness though if Jett can keep on dominating the starts like he has he's going to be hard to beat indoors. I see him winning most races and taking the championship.

It's going to be a ripper of a season for SX2024 with Eli and Kenny coming back into the mix as well

I could see this happening but let’s hope for some bar to bar racing. But….. unless the others get starts like Jett all others will be swapping places week for week with one constant Jett out front.

If he clean sweeps SMX, come A1 i think there will be a few nervous guys on the gate.

SX would seem to be far more of a game of timing & precision than outdoor MX, guessing Jett will pick up where he left off & be very much at the pointy end every week.

Wouldn't be surprising to see him be perhaps a bit more careful in SX, he learned early on about the cost of over-exuberance & that only pain waits at the end of a nose wheelie into the finish jump.

If he doesn't have any weird crashes (we all know it happens super quick in SX) then I think he will dominate. Perfect? Unlikely but we'll probably see less winners than usual, which was always 5 winners over the last years for some reason.

If he gets the same type of starts as outdoors he will dominate, nothing suggests otherwise.

Remember Jetts worse finish on a 450 was a 3rd at MXdN on debut.

You've at least gone to some effort with this one rather than just saying its going to be boring and the fields depleted lol

Ride that 450 SX savage bull on a whole season is a different story than outdoor.

I hope they cut to him putting his hat on instead of the fastest lap of 250 qualifying.

I expect Jett will be the guy to beat. It feels like a big ask to go perfect in supercross with the extra potential for carnage or minor mistake with major consequences, but never say never I guess.

I hope all the fast guys stay in one piece and we get some good racing. Look forward to seeing how Sexton and Webb adjust to the new bikes.

Yep, I had to get this poll out before SMX when everyone will see if he continues to dominate or if he has any chinks in is armor.  His starts have been near perfect to the point it looks like he's on a 450 and everyone else on a 250. I think it was the race at Ironman where there was a glitch in the gate and Jett got a late jump, yet still somehow came out in front of the pack.

As for supercross I think there will be more challenges to overcome, like passing a fired up Bam Bam or similar.

Well, if everyone gets to A1 healthy, it will be a very fun year...  A motivated Webb, a healthy Tomac, a revitalized Sexton, even a sharp Anderson could add some spice.  A few good starts from JCoop, a comfortable Roczen, a learning Hunter,  and possibly a desperate Ferrandis could make for quite a show, but at selected events.  I suspect Jett, Tomac and Webb will show they have the consistency to be in the title chase, add Sexton if he can stay rubber side down.

I think if Tomac is 100%, he will just sneak by with the title...

Honest question… how good of shape will tomac be after the injury and lay off? I hope he comes out swinging but I’d imagine he needs to “Race himself into shape” as they like to say

His biggest issue will be his fitness base imo. He had like 7 years straight without major injury where he was able to stack years and years of training on top of each other. He’s got to start over now.

Start over from what, being a total bad ass?

I think a guy like him will be able to rebound fairly easily.

you need to take age into consideration.. body doesn't heal like it once did..

and he's spent a lot of time off the bike.

I doubt total fitness has declined at all with him.  I'd be more concerned with full injury rehab.  That's a tough injury.  Sounds like he's going to ride late in October?  So he'll have 2 months of full SX prep?  He should be close to 100% IMHO.

Geez there's some stupid shit on Vital.   What a stupid Poll.    Just allow the racing, that will show what happens.

Yeah. He's 30 though not 45. I know it's "old" in mx years but it's young to the rest of the world. Plus it's sx. If it was mx with two 35min motos I would agree it's a problem.

Does not matter if you ask me. Tomac does not have Jett speed. Chase was faster than Tomac, but could not stay of the ground.

Jett is at least as fast as Chase, if not faster, and can hold it together. Game over for Tomac.
