I don’t think Hawkins would have ever had the opportunity with the Pro team if not for injures. I think it’s pretty cool the ktm group is trying to find a spot for him. It’s not like he is 16 he was an “older” rookie.
Yeah I suppose, I don’t know his age it’s just crazy to think he raced in SX futures at A2 this year.. Harsh sport, wish we had more factory seats to go around.
Ferrandis recently told to Motoverte.com that he's actually thinking about retirement after the end of 2023 season...
That is crazy ... Crazy also that up and coming brands in mx like Beta, Triumph or Ducati would not take one of the only guys capble to win motos in 250 or 450. That is just big missed opportunities for these brands tbh.

Honestly, I dont think Ferrandis is actually interested to ride for any of those 3 companies (Beta, Triumph and Ducati) for 2024 season...
He’s awesome. Hopefully this is a one year deal, then he bounces back to a factory ride.
I understand it cost a lot of money, but if DF14 doesn’t want to even try and do a few races as a privateer next year and see if a spot opens then his desire is lacking and that’s perfectly okay. Also, he for sure had opportunities on lower end teams where he would maybe only make “purse” money but he doesn’t want to do that.
The guy has won multiple 250 championships indoors and out and a 450 outdoor title. Hes a bad dude on a bike. He shouldnt settle for anything less than a factory ride. He has proven his worth, work ethic and determination multiple times.
I suspect/realize its actually the timing of his brand change that is screwing him. Basically every other 450 factory rider has won at least 1 championship.
He's won a bunch of money, raced around the globe, made some decent/awesome money, seems to have a good home life and is overall healthy.
He knows what his skills are worth. I wouldnt blame him if he decides to retire over taking a subpar ride.
I sure hope he doesn’t have that attitude. The I deserve this attitude. Bambam certainly didn’t. Dean Wilson.
Roczen has shown that the Suzuki is more than capable. That would make Ferrandis more comfortable with going in that direction. It would be huge for HEP if they can secure the services of both.
I do understand what youre saying. Nobody "deserves" to ride a dirtbike for a living. Go out and make it happen. No handouts, no free rides. I 100% agree.
All of these guys are incredibly lucky and gifted, but, they also work their asses off for this. Their entire life is consumed, theyre 100% committed to racing at this level.
IMO Dylan Ferrandis is an elite talent, he has earned an elite ride. Look at Unadilla last week, hes still striving, pushing, testing, making changes while knowing that the championship is done and knows that hes out at Star. That is a champions mindset. Going to a team of a lesser caliber would never work for his mindset.
Not every rider can be a winner. Look at AP, AC or Barcia. Theyre always fast, theyre bad ass dudes. They can occasionally win. Did they earn their rides? I believe they did. They are elite. The factorys need an "A" rider and a "B" rider. Dylan has shown he is an "A" rider IMO.
Not trying to argue. Just talking 👍
Or he's satisfied with everything he's accomplished in his career and he's fine with calling it quits.
Yea which is why I said if his desire is lacking that’s more than okay.
ktm300 I’m with you man not arguing just like to see people take Some initiative when they get the shit end. I’m with you brother just talking not arguing too!
Could very well be true. He also had a couple of bad crashes this year and that could influence his thinking also. Whatever he decides as long as he is happy and healthy that is all that matters.
They would if they could
I'm calling BS, Yamaha will have a ride for him, if he wants it.
Based off of how critical he's been of the bike this season, I highly doubt he wants to stay on a Yamaha. If Star couldn't get it right, do you think Club can?
It would really suck if he does retire after Ironman, but if he thinks that's the right thing for him, then I wish him the best and hopefully he sticks around the sport in some capacity.
There’s always one lol confirmed with every media source that he doesn’t have a spot at yamaha next year but hey what do they know?
Pit Row
There’s no ride at Yamaha for him. Plain and simple.
Why ClubMX doesnt want to make him offer? Up coming team and great rider.
.....because it is the same bike at Club with less factory support than Star can offer. If Star could not make him happy with the NEW Yamaha then why would he want to go to Club to ride the same bike with less factory support and a smaller check?
If he doesn't have an elite ride, he obviously didn't earn it, pretty simple. His big problem isn't his accomplishments, of which he obviously has many, it is that riders are spokes persons for their sponsors. His shit talking on the Yamaha and his current team took things too far. We will see more of this in the future, good riders not riding because of their sense of entitlement based on their skills and not based upon how they present their sponsors. Pro moto is not a sport like a lot of other pro sports, it is about selling product as much as results and will be more and more so. While Jim McMahon got busted for wearing a Nike headband, good or bad pro moto is all about that.
They don’t have the budget or resources for a rider like Ferrandis.
But you dont know how much $ he is asking..
He could be pricing himself out of the market for all we know. Teams might give him a ride if he appears to be good value for money.
Maybe Jeremy Martin could answer this best?
I bet a rider like him would ask for 750k plus
Why doesn’t TLD Gasgas run two 450 riders?
Where do you think the money will come from for that?
KTM group not winning a title the next couple years ?
Kidding, but with Jett and Tomac there is also a decent probability that it won't be easy.
Red Bull and gasgas. Ktm and husky has 2 450 riders, why not gasgas?
