Love the Arroyo track at GH. It is on the basic/easy side, but at 51 years old, that is a lot of what I like about it. It has the feel of tracks that were common in the '80s & '90s so that part also adds to the appeal for me. Just wish it wasn't a 3.5 hour drive for me to get there.
I stand by my comment Gary and will double down. On no planet is that a good track. Its sh!t!! You all must have low standards.
When was the last time you have ridden it? When I first moved here in 2017 I hated it but since Fox has taken over I have been having lots of fun out there and I like how they change a little something every couple of months. Maybe you should give it another try?
You mean to tell me someone would crap on a track and claim it's the worst track in the country and not have actually ridden it recently? You have to be joking!

I'm 64 and I have a blast at Barona Oaks, I can clear every jump in mode 2 on my Alta. The only down side with Barona is that they are closed until November.
In the past, I would have agreed with this but, I went last weekend and it actually flowed pretty well. The only thing I hated was the second double in the center of the track that is way too steep. Other than that, it was a cruise and everything was pretty easy to clear even on my enduro bike.
Rode it a few weeks ago. I didn’t like the section next to the road in, the 2 jumps after the corner are really bad. It has had it moments before.
However the vet track…I had a blast on! Seemed like they added something? It was pretty rad how they open at 7. I was really surprised, 7AM ripped, soaked actually really nice just could’ve used more riders to help burn in lines.
The main track was not even as good of prep as the vet. Inconsistent dry spots and soaked spots. Good call for them to start that early during the summer!
I agree. If they made those two jumps by the road bigger and less steep they could be really fun. Yes I rode the main last weekend and was dry as hell. Fun layout though
"I can come off the couch and crack a 30 on the track without arm pump."
Dude, this is VET rider discussion. You clearly are not one. Or if you are, you are one of those in the Newbie Vet age bracket.

I rode it two weeks ago. Not impressed at all. I don’t like parking lot tracks. I get it’s a place to ride, and for some people may be the most convenient place, but if you’re being objective I don’t see how anyone can call it a good track, and I don’t think there’s much they could do to change it given the terrain and location. It is what it is.
I know its shut down but the Carlsbad track at the ranch was a lot of fun. Miss swappin motos between that track and the main track.
They also have a more traditional vet track over on the other side of the pits. That one still has hills, but no double jumps. (The main track only had big tabletops the last time I went, but they often pepper in some doubles as well.) Definitely worth checking out.
I rode Pala 2 weeks ago Friday and had the most fun in a long time. Great morning! I mostly go to Barona though.
The ranch was awesome I wish somebody would try to get another lease from the Indians!
This! It was the closest thing I got to riding Carlsbad.
Agree with ML on Perris vet. Fun, but small and more of a mini type of track last time I rode it, but that was July 3, 2022.
I'm not a huge fan of LACR's vet, but it is close and it's somewhere to ride. Fast and usually way over crowded. It will be perfect to ride after a long time off the bike to get back into the groove of things though.
Barona is awesome. The whole experience of the place is top notch with the trees in the pits, etc. The track is a lot of fun and they really do a good job with it!
I miss the Pala mid day prep, made for an awesome last moto of the day.
I finally went out and spun some laps on the LACR vet track after a long time off the bike about a month ago and had a blast. That step down coming off the hill is ass puckering the first couple times though. haha
Pit Row
I've only ridden the LACR vet track on private ride days and it was awesome. I don't think I'd love it in a big crowd though.
Ya I'm not a huge fan of that. I've seen a few guys come off of it sideways, come up short and bounce sideways... You get going pretty good through there and have to really check up for the next few jumps. Two family friends got whiskey throttle through there and landed in the face of the second table. Both were off the bikes for a good while after that. Don't get me wrong, it is fun to ride and agree with Seth, it's awesome for rentals. I couldn't ride it every single weekend though.
Copy but the title says “favorite vet track” and I believe that its a good “vet track” that typically has good flow and fun jumps. To each his own though. Ride on! Maybe see you at Barona one day.
This is why I don't go to Pala very often. Some of the guys riding that vet track are absolutely flying...even with 100 other riders out there. ...and I am slow as heck, so I totally get in their way.
A couple years ago Ryno blew my doors off and scared the shit out of me on the Pala Vet.
Pala is fun if you’re charging. If you’re riding hard and make all the jumps out of the corners you can flow nicely.
Cahuilla is fun because the dirt is awesome and if you want you can push hard. But you can just as easily roll around and have fun. Pala you cannot roll around
True True. Point taken. And yes, Barona reopens in November!
Rode the new pala vet layout today. I really liked it. I wish they would steepen up the step-up-step-down opposite the cafe. They mellowed the take-off a couple of weeks ago and ruined it in my opinion.
Pala’s vet has the best dirt (in SoCal). Anytime before 12 it’s good. Mellow of course it’s a vet track. I think they should be called beginner tracks. Not all vets are slow and some vets actually want gap jumps.
You guys have convinced me. I'm hitting Pala tomorrow, then GH Saturday and Cahuilla Sunday. If anyone is going also, stop over and say hi. I'll be the only guy in a red Sprinter with Ohio plates. Lol. I ride a Gasgas with no numbers.
Anybody have a CA map showing the tracks?
One of my favorite vet tracks was the main track at Quail Canyon ( Gorman ) Hopefully they will fix their water well issues and re open that place. Can’t beat the convenience or the price of $5 a day or $50 for a season pass.
I'd go with the Dunlop MX 33 Geomax front & rear forsure
