Ando went down in the 2nd 450 group A practice and his bike was laying in the middle of a small double. The flagger was standing on the side of the track not even directing guys to go inside or outside, just lazily waving the flag. So Jason grabbed the flag from him and did his job for him lmao.
“Hold my goggles!”
The dude didn't wanna give him the flag so Ando ripped it out of his hands. I was across the track watching them hit the skyshot and could see the whole thing.
Thankyou for the insight

My GUESS is flaggers are told to stay off the track for safety and liability reasons. However, if I was a flagger, I would be doing what Jason did and give the riders an idea of what side of the track the problem is on.
It was quite the scene man
I too would be interested to know what National flaggers instructions are. I'm a member of club in CT that hosts NESC races and I'll flag them. Like you said, if needed, I'm doing what Jason did. I'll stand a foot onto the actual track so the rider down doesn't get run over.
This belongs in the, Is Motorcross Ready for Prime time thread.
The flaggers suck but you can see it hit JA after a couple minutes, “these guys don’t care that a flag is out” as they are all ripping pass him at WFO 😂
That should make for an interesting interview.
"Motorcross"?
Look! I spelled a word wrong👍

The only video I could find was on tiktok, unfortunately.
Haha forget about the lappers and the blue flag… these cats need a lesson on the caution flag 😂
Ando: "WTF guys???"
450A practice: "That ain't no red cross flag!"
I honestly think he was more worried about them running over his bike and it being trashed for practice. It was right at the start of the session
Wow
What. A. Shit. Show.
How does this happen at the professional level. Amazing.
🤣 Flagger sneaks in and scoops the flag back away from him.
”That’s an officially licensed AMA flag that was assigned to ME damnit!”
Pit Row
Someone should tell him how to wave flag..
It's pretty funny but on a serious note, if I was riding and saw a rider on the take off (if they were holding a flag or not), I wouldn't be jumping it as there's clearly a bike somewhere. Red cross flags are a fine idea, but not if marshalls on jumps don't have them.
Yeah, Anderson thought he'd get thing's straightened out waving the flag himself, LOL!!
Joke was on him seeing nobody really gave a shit except the racer who about slammed into him slowing down!
We give these flaggers a lot of shit, but that's a prime example of why they don't, and shouldn't, be putting their necks on the line.
It's a thankless job.
Ando's side gig.
Anderson made it worse, by standing on the track he was forcing them to go where his bike was. I think the worst flagging incident ever was 1994 when Steve Lamson crashed at Washougal and the flagger directed everyone towards Lammy's bike. If I remember correctly someone was trying to get his bike off the track and another rider T-boned them.
😂😂😂
I’d love to be a flagger but unfortunately the closest National to me is Millville a good 7 hours away. So when I make the trek there I wanna chill and watch the action.
Same thing happened with Trey Carnard, he crashed at the top of a small rise and then started directing traffic on the track right into his downed bike. Sorry but sometimes if you crash you may have to wait until everyone goes by to get going again. Let the flaggers do their job, I would have just left Anderson there holding the flag and told him you wanted the job now its yours and then walked off.
