I don't care that Brown and Emig and others like them are racing there.   For the most part they say they are reliving their childhood and the fun they had at the ranch as a kid, which is totally understandable.

I'm a little puzzled why a guy of Mike Brown's caliper is chasing vet amateur titles  for the purpose of having the all time win record.  It seems a little strange.

He's got a very hungry ego to feed and this apparently feeds it.

There is absolutely nothing to complain about. There are classes at LL's where the "ex Pro's" are allowed, and classes where they aren't. The year I went, I got a 19th against the "ex pro's"(there was 11 of them), and I got an 8th in the "sportsman". I was just as proud of the 19th as the 8th. I was just stoked to be there(Although getting lapped by Seb Tortelli one moto hurt). A professional is someone who CURRENTLY participates in any professional motocross series or event. An amateur is everyone else. Mike Brown, Emig, Carsten, etc., are no longer pros, the are now amateur racers. If you can't get along with the current class structures(which tries really hard give everyone a class), you're the issue.

Mike lives in Florida & Tn. Also I imagine the bonus checks come in handy. I was in Fl. Today it’s not a cheap state to live in like yrs ago.  +25 doesn’t pay cash at LL .  Wi. Inherited a fast guy from Indiana. He got 3rd in +25  & no sponsor,s picked him up.

For the same dang reason EVERY frickin’ guy here would, IF we had the skill & tenacity to do it!

If I had “Brown talent” & could R U N N O F T from every other 50 year old MX’er on the planet, I’d be stackin’ the swag like cordwood while all them ol’ sumbitch’s chased me till I was a hundred years old! 🤪 👍❗️

Vital would be bitchin’ about that motorick butthole that keeps showin’ up/killin’ it in the Master 50 class and won’t even give anyone else a fair chance until at least 2065! 🤪 💥❗️

Plenty of $$. Floating around this week at the races. .  Plenty 15-20k bikes,100k rv s, motorhomes.  Nobody is hurting for $$. there.

Yet I see people that go there make gofundme's and do waffles. Meanwhile they have 100k+ motor coaches and trailers with multiple bikes.

I don't have a problem with them racing any plus class i just wish they had like a 50 plus A and then a 50 plus slow guys for people like me. Smile .

I'm confused.  Are the complaints coming from riders that qualify for LLs or do they come from wannabes?  If you line up with Mike Brown or any other former Pro and they kick your ass, then you really know how bad you suck.  Or you can now say that you raced a top dog;  I qualified for a few Nationals back in the day and I couldn't beat any factory guys back then.  I sure can't beat any of them now, but I really enjoy watching a rider over 50 ride like Mike Brown does.  He is the Chuck Norris of moto.

And second mortgages, half are divorced, behind on the RV payments, hiding from the repo man. Not that there is anything wrong with that to go racing.

Right, at 58 years old, I should be banned from any amateur racing because I scored points in 1984 at Saddleback….Why? And WTF?!

+25 Vet Pro

+30

+40

+45

+50 Vet Pro

Vet pro if youve made the fast 40. The others if you haven't.

See, I even gave 50+ the benefit of the doubt.

Nothing will change tho because posts like Fro's hit the big dawgs in the feels..

Guys like Brown and Fro got to experience the sport at its most elite levels.

It doesn't bother me that they win the old guys class, I just feel for the 50+ guys that were on the bubble of making it to Loretta's but didn't get in because some former national champions decided to do it.

I believe before he got ran off from here that DC addressed that and said they don't do that because there aren't 40 guys to fill those classes each year.

This right here that's the problem. They had their glory let someone else have theirs and just get to go.  There needs to be a class just for them.  I agree if you've ever made a fast 40 you should be in that class.

Theres a one million percent chance the class would remain as popular as ever with my suggestion.

He may be correct had the suggestion be ex pros ONLY.

The two vet pro classes would also allow any one who wants to race it that meets the age requirement. That way those guys who get off on getting lapped by their past heros have a place to ride with them if they wish.

It doesn't really change the fact they get two classes to race. What it does change is from age 30 to 49 there's classes where people will likely ride with others who have similar skill sets..

Tons of dudes here thought he was personally trying to steal their money with the TV Debacle last year.

If you can’t make LL’s in the +30 or +45 with the current class structure, you’re not going to make it if you kick out the fast 40 guys instead of just those that score points. The 5-10 guys this moves out of the class would be filled by fast local pros who are just as fast, but for whatever reason never made the fast 40 at a National or SX. Changing the rules doesn’t make the class any slower…

Can't mention b/c for LL. It melts brains these days. In all honesty, that would benefit me the most tho. However, im just after it being a little more of an even playing field..

B/C was a little slower at the front but I think the class overall would stay about the same. B/C went away the year I turned 30 so I get the frustration, but I don’t think them changing the rules to eliminate certain guys will do anything to help the average b/c weekend warrior get to the ranch in the vet classes. It’s supposed to be the best racers in the country so unfortunately, not everyone is able to go. Plenty of classes at World Vets, Mammoth, Ponca, Mini O’s, Vet Fest, etc to see how you stack up against guys your speed on a National level.

Once you obtain a professional skill set, you're not an AMATURE any longer..

52 year old mike brown is a beast. He gets paid to train in a professional level and probably hands it to the kids he trains by the 20 minute mark.. He's going to ride pro yet again. That there says it all. He's still at that level. Period. He's sandbagging the hell out of the two classes he's riding, plain and simple.

John Dowd would be too if he didn't quit training. He's still got the skill because he's a professional.

8ten, there is no +35. Your +30."sPoRtSmAn" winner has qualified for premier class national motocross races as a professional. Lol.

This will be my last post regarding the matter. Egos as big as the western sky around here.

Achieving a certain skill set alone does not make you a professional.
go learn what the word professional means.IMG 7940 0
