Can't imagine it'd work for a dude though, the cut in the pants will be off if you have a twig and giggle berries and the jersey will probably be weirdly proportioned on a dude

Yah exactly, most of the stuff   if it was side by side with out labels with the guys stuff, it would be hard to tell what was mens and womens.  If the gear is the stretchy kind  the pants might work. But most stretchy stuff is tight to begin with.   

Shot has a service for european customers that let you buy the gear from a dealer ( or direct online), You go home with the pants. Then You go online and create the jersey. You can pick the tight stretchy fit, or looser fit, change up the colors, add sponsor logos from their library or upload Your own. You can also buy just the jersey and do the same thing. And they sublimate Your name/number and all logos and ship it to you. I was told they are working on offering it for the US.

How cool would it be if more gear brands started to do this? But also with pants . So You could customize the colors however you wanted.They could have set designs  and You just change up the colors like what Nike does with shoes. Then nobody  would need to wear womens gear. Maybe someday.
