DV went pretty in depth talking about it on the pulp podcast. A few others have been talking about how they had to use a much older swingarm with the new frame to lengthen the wheelbase. They say yamaha shortened the wheelbase quite a bit to make it nimble for sx, but its been causing stability problems in mx that theyve been working through. Hopefully they dont have these same probs with the 250 because that bike has been damn near perfected at this point. I guess time will tell. Should be an advantage though now that mx is wrapping up and theyll start testing for sx soon.

I think it is standard problem with first year bike. The same what KTM went through

GPs are allowed to use custom/non-production frames, no?

Not sure. I think they are allowed to take/add materials, but correct me if I'm wrong.

They can run whatever they want. But do you mean Seewer is the same on the new bike? Not the same Seewer I remember.

It’s probably already been posted, but a pretty cool commercial:

Had a 94 yz 250 and 95 yz 125. Hats off to Yamaha for doing something outside the box. To bad I have a 23 crf 250 with about 6 hours on it or I would buy a 250.

GP they can use any swingarm they want. They could also ride 24-5 offset to make it longer front end but that maybe effects turning feeling and front end even more light.

I don't know what to think about Seewer... Today, he was good, but yes, he looks like is underperforming compared to last year. On the other side, Renaux before injury, and now Vlaanderen and Coldenhoff look very good on a new model.

I was hoping it would loose more then 3 lbs…but they didn’t really change the engine which is where the 450 lost some of it’s weight so….

without the purple wheels, it isn't the same and I wish they would have kept the blue if purple wasn't an option

Lets see, 450 factory riders are testing for the right length swing arm for the '23. What are the chances of the 250 truly turning better? Just sayin'

My updated 200SX w/'06 chassis and '16 YZ250F front end gives more confidence. That's nearly a 20 yo PDS KTM with random parts. FTW?  The YZF'er sits in the truck, as a back up!

The 450s have been having a hell of a time getting the bikes set up for outdoors. I wonder if them going to the 450 style frame on the 250 will lead to some of the same problems, hopefully not.

Like I said, that 250f will be a beast in that chassis.

The 23 YZ450F has the same wheelbase as the 21 YZ450F that Ferrandis won the title on, 58.5".  The 22 was listed at 58.3", but that's a pretty quick chain tension adjustment away, isn't it?  There is a .1 degree difference in rake on the 23 & 22 (26.9) vs the 21 (27.0).  Maybe 0.1 degree is enough to make a huge difference?  I'm sure that a guy like me could never feel that difference, but I would also only get up to about 10% of the speed of these guys at their very slowest pace.........

Not gonna lie, when I was a kid I always thought Yamaha’s were white, I know before that they were yellow but I was always an emig fan and I was 5 years old. Loved the color with the purple. I loved the throwback color at washougal 💪💎
