That’s pretty normal, I usually change oil every hour/ride and filter every other change until it’s at minimum 5 hours. I then go to normal every other ride oil change 3-5 hours and filter every other change.
I’ll do that then. Still a full liter without changing the filter?
Mine is actually a 2024 XC-F 350 with spring forks which are SO good. I have 3.3 hrs now and every ride is feeling better and better from a break in perspective.
I put on a ProTaper ACF bars, a Vortex and PC Exhaust at 2 hours. It totally cleaned up the decel pop and really woke up this bike. I feel like the bars also took away some rigidity but it's hard to tell as the bike is breaking in really nicely.
Very nice. I promised I’d wait til the 10 hour mark before getting cartridges, I’m hoping I find a good setting on the aer before then. I’m sure I’ll see you at cahuilla one of these days 👍

Hold off on the Vortex if your only issue is the decel pop. Most of them the decel pop clears up after 8-10 hours on these 350s.
Oh good. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t also want the added performance, so I may get it either way. The power seems really good to me, especially way up top.
towards the end of my ride this morning I was riding some tighter stuff and noticed it was a little jerky down low. Are there any tricks/tips to help that with stock mapping? I did switch to map one after, but wasn’t on that section long enough to notice a difference
Yeah I just put the full liter in when I skip the filter change. I am currently still on the 21, it’s on my work lift getting prepped for sale and picking up a 24 next week. I would assume it isn’t much different though, as long as the level is up to the top of the site glass circle you should be fine. I’ve had it to the top of the glass and it was fine!
My last ktm was a 14 and it was pretty much a pos, but I’m so damn impressed with this bike as far as fit/finish and being easy to work on. Even the engine oil being an exact liter makes it simple. So far I’m very happy I went this route
Did the motor for the 350 get updated in 2022 or 2023. I know 2023 was also the new chassis?
Anyone try the 23.5mm offset triple clamps on their '23 like Keefer suggested you run?
I have a 22m, 24m offset luxon gen 3 on the way, with there new rubber clamp kit, hoping it comes in the next week or so, ordered it in mid july. I have done a few thinks
Full xact fork kit, no more air fork, revale and set up by JB ride
Revale and spring the stock shock
Did raptor pegs 5mil back and 5mil down, seems a lot of pro riders also like 5 down 5 back, made a huge difference, obviously the suspension is critical for my weight and height
Did phantom foam (aprox 20mil higher) with gripper, been running pirelli tires, will try the new dunlops, but disliked the 33's, some grips , new bars
Prob will toss and ignition on at some point. I am 48, old guy, and have been just tweaking things to aid in comfort, stability and add anything to aid in compliance to help with fatigue.
Both the motor and suspension were updated for the 23.
To all those that have added an older vortex mapped to the new 23 models and have done the map switch delete....
...is it correct to assume that the bike just runs straight from the selected map switch on the vortex?
Going from memory on my old bike, didn't you have to select map 2 on the bars to engage the vortex selected map? I am probably wrong here, it's been a while.
Thanks
I took the switch complete off and unplugged it. It runs straight from the vortex what ever map you have selected.
Perfect! Thanks Dude!
KYB or WP 6500? Which have you guys done and which do you prefer? Currently running the K-Tech set up and really struggling to find a good setting, so thinking of going KYB and being done with it....
What springs is everyone running on the 23s for your weight??
KYB forks, .48 springs, 183 pounds no gear.
Pit Row
I went the 6500 route as well as full revalve front and rear from REP for my 22 350sxf. Mark knocked it out of the park for me at my skill level and weight... A/B vet rider at 275lbs. Mark makes his own add on parts to make the 6500 feel close to the kyb setup. I splurged for only a few of the extras like his spring perches, midspeed cups, lsv's, but you dont have to. I believe they dyno their own springs as well. These forks have great hold up and bottoming resistance. I thought I loved the stock suspension on my 21 yz450, but a few practice session on my 350 w/revalve changed my mind and I seen where the stock yz suspension was lacking for me. If I rode the 450 more, i would definitely send the suspension to REP.
Im a kyb fan and the kyb inserts was what I was going to go with initially until i started looking into them. One of the positives that drew me to the 6500 for my year of ktm, didnt need different lugs installed, so when i got to sell the bike, i can just swap out the inserts and keep my 6500's for the next ktm.
Same as Polish Power. I went 6500's due to the ease of DIY install and not having to ship my forks in or pay for complete fork shipping back. Mine are done by Ride JBI and they are great.
Is your shock stock still?
My 6500's are on a previous gen bike, 2020 FC350. Shock is stock, spring for my weight and bladder kit. So not directly applicable to the 2023's but I'm good with this combo.
Ok cool I’m most likely going the 6500 route. They are setup for a national rider so I’ll plug them in and see how it goes lol. Will likely send forks and shock to AEO of JBI eventually
I have 4.2 hours on mine, so I’m still breaking it in. Has anyone ran the factory split clamps or a akropovic slip on?
im going to wait til 8-10 hours before trying the clamps out. I’m running keefers suggested suspension settings and it felt a little harsh, I went out 1 click on shock and fork rebound and it’s seems to be a little better. The bike is stable and predictable, just a little harsh in braking/acceleration bumps. Either way I’m pretty damn happy with it so far.
my only gripe is it is incredibly jerky in 1st and 2nd just riding through the pits. I will eventually get a vortex so I’m not too worried about it, just thought it was odd.
im going to put the akropovic on before the next ride, I definitely don’t need any more power, but I picked it up for a good deal so saving weight is a plus.
I also will go the 6500 route eventually, but I’m half tempted to try the JBI diy kit just to see how much of an improvement it will be
You know what's funny about clamps, working on 2023 and 2020.5 swapping forks, when torquing the clamps, on the regular clamps on the 23, you tighten one bolt and the second bolt looses torque... you could probably go on until the tubes collapse.
On the split clamps on the 2020.5, just torque each bolt once and done.
The 2020.5 450 ran so good stock, the TD vortex was too much for me so went back stock and even ran stock pipe from fmf. 23 450 is also herky jerky and short gearing makes it worse. Had the vortex redone by xpr and very happy, might even go to 13.49 from 13.50. Stock was 13.51 which imo is nuts for a 450, even a 150 pulls 13.49
Btw does the powerparts acro work on both 350 and 450? I don't like running aftermarket pipes, but damn my 450 is loud... I'd consider a akro 24 fe take off if one came up.
Might see if anyone has a 23 husky silencer with the cone as a take off.
I believe the 250/350 run the same exhaust. The 450 only fits the 450. If I m wrong someone please correct me. I know my FMF exhaust says 250/350 on the shipping box.
I believe the 350/450 slip on is the same, and the full ti setup I ordered was labeled for 250/350. Selling the Akrapovic full ti evolution exhaust I have since I don’t ride this bike as much as the others.
That's confusing lol
Mine is off a FE and only works with the oem header apparently. I haven’t tried it yet, but the 250/350sxf have the same part number as the 450xcf (can’t find oem part numbers for the 450sxf)
I’ll try to mount it up tomorrow and let you guys know
