Moto media isn't exactly aggressive about investigating and reporting things that sponsors don't want them to. Most of it amounts to free PR departments.
So it's Moto medias fault for no pictures....not that Triumph did a great job from hiding it from everyone...or even had everyone sign an NDA...
I am excited about it.
I will be curious as to the features they will incorporate and as to what price they will ask.
Imagine this bike turns into a Top 3 bike with a low price tag....instant hit.
Never seen someone defend media so hard lol
This is awesome! A new brand at the races! I can’t wait to see it. Unless it’s air cooled, I don’t think it will be cheap. We’ll see soon enough. It would be brilliant to go after that market though. Perhaps they plan to build it in India?
Jazzed to see this thing....
^^^^Exactly right^^^^
Not even the Stealth Fighter was this locked down lol
Yep, easier to find an image of a classified US military drone... Triumph won that battle.
Can't wait to see it.
I'm not defending the media just pointing out facts....but when people don't understand how it works they blame the media because it has to be someones fault when Johnny two stroke hasn't seen a picture yet....
I just saw a screenshot of what I believe to be legit pictures of the new triumph. I am a fan.
Elvis was sitting at the lunch counter 3 seats down from me today....
Well, maybe so.
Some decent photochops there ^^^^ Two different bikes though.
Pit Row
Pretty sure that’s SWAP you’re talking to DUDE of course he’s gonna defend the motocross media outlets have some respect
Damn , too excited
If only countless other industries didn't think of trying to keep things secret or making people sign an NDA..... must have never crossed their minds to try that seeing as how often things get leaked and reported.... if TMZ cared about the triumph and were paying for info and pics, do you really think we'd still know so little? I do not.
The fact that media members are signing NDAs tells you all you need to know. In most industries those are for partners, people you work with, etc... and when those companies are talking to media who report on their product they can agree to go off the record if they want to and trust that reporter, but they aren't passing around NDAs. Most investigative reporters will go their entire career without signing an NDA and would find the suggestion absurd.
What's your argument here? That media doesn't know things and that's why things don't get reported? Or that they hold things back for various reasons? Either way the result is the same and it's not really journalism that's taking place.
I get it, it's a small world, nobody wants to lose their club membership and we'd all likely make the same choices, but to deny that that comes at a cost is just silly......
....or....Nobody in moto media took their laptop from hell in for repair....
Nobody said that media members were signing NDA’s just those that are close to the project are that have seen the bike including riders. Triumph has done a great job of hiding the bike and or disguising it. They own a private facility outside of Atlanta where the majority of the testing and development has taken place in the US…..Tedesco has been spending a lot of time there and the Ferry’s have moved close to it…We have seen many spy photos over the years of other brands testing new models at public tracks but with private facilities and the teams ability to disguise new models makes it almost impossible to tell and or see them. We have plenty of TMZ media that would kill to have a photo of it and they have nothing to lose because they have already lost it….Kooksey comes to mind…ask him…
I think it is typical of the mindset these days.. people jumping to conspiracy theories.. like there is some sort of secret cabal among the media to keep information from the general public. It is not logical to think that the media which makes its money by being the first to publish new news and pictures, would not be motivated to post the first pics.
Think back to what was probably the most anticipated new MX model ever.. the very first Honda CRF450.. there were no "sasquatch sightings" of the new bike being tested at all in the US, Europe or even Japan until Sebastian Tortelli debuted the bike at the All Japan MX Grand Prix in October 2000. I don't see the Triumph example being much different.
If their plan was to build excitement through artificial mystery it’s having the opposite effect now.
I highly doubt they have reinvented the wheel, it’s an internal combustion powered dirt bike……
Show it to us, or shut up..
Prior to Yamaha launching the world’s first 250 four stroke, Doug Dubach raced it every week at GH. He put 400 stickers on it and people just thought he was testing a YZ400.
Nobody is suggesting a conspiracy theory. Media make their money through advertising. The more traffic you get, the more you get paid to advertise. There's competing incentives when posting the picture first or the real story behind some drama in order to drive traffic will piss off the relatively small world of advertisers. If you're espn or tmz you don't have to make those choices. Niche moto media is so used to self censoring and worrying about keeping the industry happy that they don't even realize or admit they do it anymore.
You mean like a three stroke?
Looks like the one on top already won a championship.
i mean, your opinion on retail media hasn't changed any over the last three years? really? at all?
also, journalists that burn NDAs and embargoes (even if not a party thereto) will never get anything from the OEM again. you can only skin a sheep once and all that.
