This has to be the absolute worst interviewer I have ever heard in my life, along with the stupidest questions ever. MXA has a chance to interview Eli Tomac after months of no interviews and this is all they can come up with? Was this some intern kid with a summer job at MXA? If Eli didn’t help the interviewer get some of his questions out, there wouldn’t have been an interview.

I just got done listening to the interview , and though I have enjoyed MXA for 50 years, that was the single most cringe worthy interview I have ever seen / heard. I was thinking Eli was going to walk away at any moment.
That was very hard to watch. I had to stop before it was over.
We have all been new at something. Not saying this is anxiety, but plenty of people have crippling anxiety as well, which they are trying to overcome. Cut him some slack
From a longtime fan of MXA, that interview wasn’t good. Eli was great, he talked pretty openly, the questions, and more so the question delivery, was like listening to a high school sophomore talk to his principal..

Dude takes a decent photo, seems to write ok too, I can only imagine he's just not super big on the talking side of things? Who knows.
It does sound pretty awkward, not an easy listen and it's tough to deny that, but it's kind of a thankless job haha, if you're good nobody notices, if you're bad people inevitably take the piss 😂
I dunno, just thinking out loud, I don't wanna shit on the guy for giving it a go 👍
If someone has anxiety, being an interviewer is probably not the best job for them..
Where is Josh Mosiman when we need him
dammit, you beat me to it
Perfect!
I did not think it was that bad. He will get better,
Let's hope so or maybe he'll be like Ricky and just suck at his current job no matter how much time goes by lol.
She sounded OK.
it was rough but she got some good info. maybe he was more relaxed with her than the usual suspects he has to deal with.
It's a he. Trevor Nelson.
Once again, the the fine folks on the VitalMx forum show how to eat their young.
Maybe the next time you are at Glen Helen you can personally kick Trevor in the balls?
The actual substance of the interview was fine. The delivery of the questions was awkward for sure. But I'm not listening to hear an interviewer's voice.
Yeah, I enjoyed hearing about Eli’s favorite colors.
Pit Row
LOL!!! I didn't say it was perfect.
Not a good interviewer to be sure. However, not many in the sport conduct a good interview. Most give the answer to the question as they ask it! None ask the tough questions because they are worried about upsetting the advertisers/sponsors/riders/manufacturers. This is mostly a fall in-line industry or else.
Haha, I know right
Truth be told, I’m still sore at MXA for dogging out the 2007 KX250. “Our test riders all ran away when we told them which bike they had to ride.” And then they’ve reprinted this test over and over. Why?
MXA: Hey Eli, you remember that time you won your 2nd supercross championship?
Eli: Yea.. yea I remember that.
MXA: That was awesome!
Well if you don't like it at least you have options. If you want to watch something entertaining watch this one:

Didn't go to Washougal because he's going to Italy and Austria for KTM/GasGas stuff and to race an Austrian national
I don’t think anyone new Eli was going to be there so it was probably a spur of the moment thing the interviewer wasn’t prepared for
I agree with you and have for some time that there are a couple/few moto journalists that are really bad at giving the rider the answer to the question as they ask it. I can forgive them of this if the rider is 16-18 years old and inexperienced giving interviews, but not the veteran riders.
Just ask the question without rambling on.
That was tough...maybe break someone in on a less monumental interview. I mean, getting an update from Eli isn't chump change. Felt like they just threw someone a mic and said, here go and interview that guy over there. Poor fella got thrown right into the deep end to be sure.
If I had to guess, he was there for MXA to shoot content and perhaps he was the only one there for them, and couldn't pass up the opportunity to interview Eli.
I don't think interviewing people is his main focus at MXA.
Haha, it seems kind of funny now, watching Eli go “Mmm hm, mm hm, mm hm…” trying to hurry it along.
It's only a fail if he didn't find out whether Eli is running 1 tooth up on the back sprocket.
