Deegan has proved me wrong.I though that coming from privilege he wouldn't have this gritt and unwillingness to accept defeat. I'm a fan. A for the comments from Andrew Tate, I am only a fan of riders Riding. I take no interest on anything they do beyond them going fast on a motorcycle.

Every great racer has defining moments in their career.  The really great ones have many defining moments.  Yesterday was a defining moment for Deegan as a racer.  Bravo young man.

That second moto was one of the most impressive rides I’ve ever seen. A 17 year old passing the leader and immediately checking out was a thing of beauty. I was never a fan of his dad and the MM stuff but I have to hand it to his parents, they did it right and have created an absolute beast for us fans to enjoy. I’m very happy for the entire Deegan family….good people and wonderful parents

It’s surprising it took someone this long to go one one in that class… And that it was Haiden!  Nice!….that was a MXDN statement if I’ve ever seen one!

I'm not a fan of the social media schtick or his nickname, but as a pure racer/rider in the sport he's completely earned my respect.  I didn't think he would be this good and he sure has proven me wrong. I thought at best he would be a very good, but not elite SX rider.  Kid can haul ass, and has done it in the man's sport of MX.  Much respect.  Amazing ride yesterday.  Need more of that.

What’s wrong with the social media “schtick”? Do you hate motocross? Because their channel is 100% motocross…They also recently started a new YouTube channel with more “behind the scenes” motocross..track walks..etc..

He’s already had the bad races he’s going to have barring bike failure which doesn’t happen often to star bikes.

When you give a young kid a taste of victory, domination, and the spoils that come after it, he may just go for this thing over the next 3 races. Thank goodness for this battle. With the snooze fest that is 450s

The thing I will continue to point out about him that many will refuse to acknowledge because of just straight up jealousy etc is that having that kind of desire and hunger when so much has been given to you is rare and shouldn't be overlooked. Being that privileged in a sport that depends so much on determination is more of a hindrance to success than anything else. There's no rational reason he should want it this much, but he does and he fights for it. I find that very cool and easy to root for.

Money can buy everything except heart. Haiden’s got a ton of it.

Great point. He could've very well not taken moto as seriously as he has and chosen a different, less stressful, and straight up easier path to a still successful life. To have a comfortable, cushy upbringing and still wake up everyday and desire the mental & physical torture that comes with being a top-level motocross racer is impressive and can't be understated.

Definitely impressed with the second moto. Good for him and his family. Has to be a shock to Ryder D and Reynolds (guess also Brown, Hymas) who were supposed to be “next” and Deegan just left them as an afterthought

Anyone else wonder if his comments on putting an American on the top is him hinting at them to put him on the MXoN team? He did the same at RedBud. Seems like the 250 spot is between him and RJ but if I had to put any money on it at this point I have a little more faith in Deegan especially after today.

Also starts are more important in MXDN than normal races. RJ can’t buy a start.

That pass on J Coop is unreal, balls out all the way around the outside. To mount that charge and pass, and then absolutely blow away Cooper for the remaining laps was incredible to watch.

He passed a few riders in that same spot, with the same line.

A few laps earlier, it seemed that J-Coop was incredibly tired and fighting to keep that pace.  After the pass, J-Coop dropped back at the same time as Deegan was putting on a clinic.

Great ride for both!

Shades of beast mode?

Kid is strong and that was great to watch.

Haiden showed us something in moto 2 that we hadn't seen yet.  That 2:15 while everyone else was at 2:20 or higher was a new tool in the tool box...  Reminiscent of a little beast mode?  Hard not to think so.  Can he reproduce it?  We'll have to watch and see.

I wasn't much of a fan or critic, kind of neutral on the kid...  Found myself cheering him on during that charge and want to see more.

He just said that he listens to Andrew Tate. As much of a scumbag Andrew Tate is, it's really not a big deal that Deegan mentioned him. Tate is wildly popular amongst kids at the moment, and Deegan is literally a kid. As long as he isn't eating Tide Pods after the race we should be good Laughing

Yep, Tate is a real POS that thinks it’s cool to treat women like garbage. He’s awaiting trial for rape and human trafficking.

I sincerely hope his family has a chat with Hayden.

He also name dropped David Goggins, a verified bad ass and a positive role model. 👍🏻

Cooper said in the post race interview with Matthes that he didn't eat well before the race and bonked pretty much rich as Deegan punched the after burners and blasted away to the win.

Haiden's crazy sprint at the end was fun to watch either way but might not have been as impressive on paper if Justin still had some juice left in the tank.

Agreed! Haiden did put 4 or 5 seconds on Kitchen and Lawrence, so it was still quite impressive.

Cooper rode well too. It's great that he gave it everything he had until the pass.

Man, he absolutely caught fire late in the 2nd moto. That was a statement ride, and every time he does that, he gains more confidence in himself. I'm a fan.

I'm one of his critics. And this summer he's earned my respect back from the SX bs with Smith. Kid is becoming way more impressive than I thought he would've this early. If he can go beast mode like he did in those last 5 laps of the race. No one will be able to touch this kid. Hopefully he can keep it going.
