Any Beta experiences

I have a few friends that own one and they are all happy with it. There are a nice looking bike and I’d own one, if my ‘23 KTM XC300 wasn’t so damn good. 

I've got an 18 300RR Race, 20 390RR Race, and my dad has a 19 300RR Race,

We've never had any issues as far as reliability or getting parts for the bikes. The electrical is fine but the wiring connectors aren't as good as the Japanese and Austrian bikes which has led to some issues.

Are you looking at a 2T or 4T? The only real motor issues I know about on the 4Ts is the plastic oil pump gears but I'd switch those out with steel ones at 100hrs anyways.

Beta USA takes really good care of their customers from everything I've seen.

my 18 had the Sachs anodize issues which I'm sure they would have replaced like they did for so many others but I just sent them to Hard Anodize through my work and don't worry about it now.

I have a 2020 300 race edition and a 23 300 race edition. Don't have crazy hours on mine but 130+ between both with zero issues. The 300 had some crank bearing issues before but all the stories I heard it Beta warrantied even years after purchased. Seems like Beta USA really tries to help when issues happen. Haven't really heard of any other issues, seems like the 4 stroke throttle body/idle air control can be finicky sometimes but I don't have any experience with beta 4 strokes. I will say that some of the electrical connections aren't the best but I also haven't had any issues with them either

Friend has a 21 RX300 no issues 40 hrs just did a top end on it and it wasn't needed. Also has a 21 RE 125 again no issues did a top end on it at 18 hrs and it was still good. Other than basic maintenance it has been solid. 

I get to see it myself since we always go riding and they are ridden mx. So they do get ridden pretty decently not just putting around. The most maintenance so far was just him replacing the top ends. 

Like any bike it depends greatly on the owner and maintenance. Occasionally with anything mechanical you do get the occasional lemon. But beta has been really good with covering stuff outside of warranty. 

Both of mine (2020 500rrs and 2021 200re) have been amazing. I do routine maintenance. But no issues otherwise. I seem to spend much more time dealing with my brothers Yamahas than my Beta's.

Plenty of Beta experiences.  Buy one.

Same, big time 200 fan and the Betas I've seen in person have been nice looking bikes. Would love to do one like a mild version of HerbEaversmells here's bike but in 200cc.

A mate up the road has a 300 and it's been good as gold.

Supposedly there is still some crank bearing fuckery going on on the 250s and 300s, I'm not exactly sure. But Beta has replaced every motor that has had crank bearing issues as far as I know.

Got a 23 200 Race Edition, have an FMF Titanium silencer and the Beta/Kayaba  2" lowering kit (my daughter races it at 5'4") She only has about 10 hours of race time on it, but just completed a 3 hour severe mudfest that was on a 14mile rock-garden track. Brutal. She loves the bike, says it pulls down low like a tractor and still screams on top on the fire roads /moto stuff when needed. . Obviously at  only 10 hours we haven't had a lick of trouble ,and she is extremely hard on equipment. 

Mainly heard electrical issues. Friend has a year old Xtrainer, was on a ride with him a couple weeks ago, neither front or rear lights working. Also odometer not working. Great looking bike and he likes it. There were a ton of Betas on the ride so they must be doing something right

The 200 is amazing in its element... tight single track. Narrow, light, nimble, and it doesn't lack in power at all.

I had an X-Trainer for a few months. I bought it because I'm 54 with a broken back and lack the use of my toes. But, while I loved the engine, seat height, and weight of the X-Trainer I quickly figured out that it needed better suspension... Badly!

The 200 sits higher. But, the suspension is great. The power is plenty... and it actually feels lighter than the X-Trainer. I have ZERO complaints. 

Beta seems pretty solid from what I’ve read, here, Facebook etc.  I may poke around and get a quote or two on a 24 Beta 300RX in the few days.  I need to get off my ass and pedal a couple of dirt scooter in the garage that don’t get ridden.  Somebody could give me a new Beta and I wouldn’t have room for it in the garage LOL.

Best bikes I’ve owned were a couple of KTM 200’s.

Now only Beta and Reiju have a 200.  Beauty of the Beta is that it’s built on the 125 frame so you get the weight and handling benefits with the bigger engine.

nope. but have had some ALPHA experiences. (just a joke people)

Appreciate the feedback, sounds like the 200 formula is still as good as ever 👍 Like Ando said, the KTMs were great too, disappointed they stopped but can't argue with sales numbers I guess.

Really want to 'build' (wouldn't be much of a build, just the key style / trim changes) a 200 mx bike, I can't wring out a 250 on track and a 125 is a little bit too labour intensive for a chunky 35 year old 😂

My dad had an 18 125 RR. He loves the bike and had no reliability issues. The only “issue” he ever had was trying to find a pipe for it. It says FMF on the pipe and beta didn’t have them in stock (it was during covid) so he got in touch with FMF directly. FMF said they don’t produce a pipe for the Beta 125RR. Which was odd because it says FMF on it 🤷‍♂️ in the end he ended up paying a ton for a different brand (I believe DEP). 
 

Regardless, I’m pretty sure I’ll buy a Beta 300 Race edition when it’s time to update from my 2022 300 XC. 

I have a 430 RE and love it.  Not the fastest, but the bike is an off road model.  Doesn’t have the snap, like a YZF, CRF, etc.  But will see when the new Beta 450 comes out. Really don’t see the new 450 being a rocket, but a lot of guys are de-tuning their 450’s anyways. Beta 4-stroke models are 350, 390, 430 and the 480. Never rode the 350, but out of all the bikes, I love the 390.  I think the 390 would make a great vet moto bike.  One strong thing about the Beta, it turns.

Problems that I have seen with the Beta’s are, electrical, ECU’s and some other little issues.  Beta is very strong in the warranty department and try to make everything right.

The Beta 2 strokes are gaining ground and are a great off road bike.  If you have a 2023 KTM 300, you’re not selling it and buying a Beta, but if your looking for a new bike, go check out a Beta dealer.

P.S.  stock seats are way to hard.  Hopefully the 24 models will be different.

Bought a 2023 500RR-S in October. I have owned a lot of the good ones. 08 CRF450, 01YZF450, 2006YZ250, 1995CR250, 1999KX250 and more.

Of course there is a large tech gap between those and my Beta but I can say this bike is the best bike I have ever owned. Incredible light and thin and nimble. My only complaint is that I can't get used to the hydraulic clutch. 

Had almost 250 hours on my 20 390rrs before i sold it to a friend who still has it with over 400 hours and no issues. Currently have a 22 300rx and has been amazing so far. Plan on buying a softer seat. 

 I’ve got a 2022 300rr and I absolutely love it. The KYB suspension is very responsive and I’ve never had an issue with reliability. Currently on 75 hours. 

I've got a '19 300 RR. It's been a great bike, the only real problems have been electrical. This winter I tore it down and pulled apart every connection, cleaned all the terminals and hit them with dielectric grease-no more problems. 

How’s the rx? I was considering getting one for moto/desert

We had one before everyone switched to VHS. I guess I show my age when that’s all I think about when I hear about betAs

I don’t think you’ll find a company that stands behind their product as well as Beta does, it’s truly remarkable. Love mine.
