Hearing a bunch of rumblings about this. I knew he wasn’t done yet!
ML, have you heard anything?

I could see him coming back for one full year but two I’d be very surprised.

With Jett and Chase (and everyone else) I would say he's gonna have a hard time reaching 60.

Not knocking Eli one bit, he's a badass for sure.  But, that old "changing of the guard" is slowly starting to show up once again.  Chase has one, betcha Jett wants  more than that.....  Combined, those 2 are not going to  respect their elders in a fight.  If indeed Eli comes back, at least for 1 more year, he's gonna have to work his ass off to get another title.  Youth, enthusiasm, drive, (heavy emphasis on youth), are on THEIR side.  But, at times it's damn hard to beat older, wiser.....  Problem only is Jett does NOT ride like he's 19 at all, more like 29.  I personally saw something very extra special seeing him at Lorettas as an amateur.....  Did not close the deal, but he sure sure looked way wiser than his age stated.

Chase?  This is one that's easy....  He is a STUD on a bike, plus wants to prove once and for all that his title wasn't a fluke.....He earned it.  But he wants to do it again, without any questions brought up about fellow racers.  Eli CAN do this, IF the drive is there, but it isn't going to be easy at all....

Right now, Jett has one goal to prove to the entire planet.....  His hype ain't bullshit.  He's starting to prove it.  I truly think he can cover just about anyone in America at the moment, and he is starting to believe it to be true.  He's just that damn good......  It's all there.

I don’t think Chase is worth much in the way of Tomac come race time. Jett is still a TBD but give Chase the lead and he folds like a lawn chair.

Yes, he did earn it - no asterisks. But he won that by attrition. His poor racecraft almost lost him the championship a round early.

I could still easily see Tomac getting +5 wins a SX season regardless of who he lines up against.  He's that talented and a badass on a dirt bike.  I so hope its true he's signing up for 2 more years.  Hell, 1 extra year is a treat.

where are you guys “hearing so much” that this has happened? Last I saw or heard anything was Eli stating he wasn’t making any decisions about his future from the video that HE posted after his surgery.

I heard it at Vital MX. There's a thread right now where they're talking about it, you should check it out.

Because ML and Lewis mention it on the Red Bud review pod.

As a strictly outside observer, it doesn't seem like ET3 has ever chased the record book for anything other than #1 plates.

Anybody else notice ET3 agressiveness for the race win changes depending on wether or not he has the Red plate?

didn't ET3 Crash at Anaheim and then repass everybody for the win early last season? "Never write off the champ!"

You gotta think next year with Chase being on a new bike, could take some time getting up to speed. Jett’ first year on full Supercross circuit could be a grind for him and may have some issues..

I can understand him returning for 2024. If it’s a 2 year it’s because a stupid amount of money lol. May as well collect it and take the podium bonuses with no pressure !

It would not surprise me to see guys race sx only. Mix in a couple of outdoors for the playoffs and latch onto a world sx ride. That would work out for some serious coin for them at the back end of there career.

Chase on KTM won’t be a match for Eli. All we can hope for is Jett causes Eli to go beast mode. Which we haven’t seen in some time now

MX/SX is better with Eli in it. Wouldn't be surprised if this injury renewed his drive and appreciation for being out there competing.

DF mentioned on pulp last night that he’s hasn’t signed anything for 2024 and might retire. I don’t know if he was joking or not, but he said it, so maybe it’s Eli and Cooper at Star

The problem with that is to do it you won’t be on a factory ride….plus they can make more money racing in the US series than WSX because of the bonus money the factories pay in the US…there is no bonus money in WSX.

Star could do a lot worse than to have Tomac & Webb under their tent, for sure. Hope the rumors are true.

No.  I've only noticed his aggressiveness (or lack of) based on bike set up, his comfort level on the bike, his health/physical, and track conditions.  Never noticed anything related to the red plate (with or without).  He's one of the greatest racers of all time in our sport.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Feld/MXSports find it worthwhile to help ‘subsidize’ a couple of the top tier rider salaries for the next few years. Now that they have a competitor doing exactly that, there’s no reason to believe that they wouldn’t do it also to keep the highest interest. Especially after the attrition that the outdoors is currently experiencing.

With the drop in top riders in the Nationals, imagine if Tomac and one or two other guys (if they weren’t injured) were racing WSX?  That could change the perception of the different racing series completely.

Even if the contracted riders didn’t race all the Nationals, there’s a real value in keeping them from racing a competitor’s championship series.

As a tomac fan from the beginning and a budding Jett fan this would be my dream. Although I can’t help but think if Jett beats him that Tomac might not be in his prime.
I find it hard to see anyone beat Tomac when he is on.
All races I’ve seen tomac race I’ve had the feeling like the races are determined by the state of his mind and nothing else. Right up until his Achilles let go.

I'm sure Star will do whatever It takes to keep Tomac around in sx for the future. Surprised to see DF move on so quickly. Hope he finds something to stay in the states.

He’s been so critical of the bike last year and this year, that I wouldn’t be surprised if he wanted to move on.
