I thought the same, but I guess for a dude as lazer focused on winning, it's probably more of a little consolation to square it in his own mind more than an excuse for the fans and other people.

He's riding awesome, he's blazing fast and he's having a badass rookie season, so if he's still sweating the one dude in front of him then at least it shows just how dedicated to winning he is 👍

He did add that he’s learning from him as well . It’s obvious he’s got a lot of respect and even a rapport with Hunter.
